Cleveland Browns 2011 Super Awesome In-Season Thread

Crimson streakI really want jj watt. I think he will be the best d lineman in this draft class
-
BR1986FBMay have been mentioned by somebody before but JJ Watt reminds me of another high motor guy, Jared Allen.
-
Commander of AwesomeI've been saying the only players the browns should be considering Green, Peterson, or the best Dline prospect. Not in that order necessarily but it has to be one of those 3 mentioned.
In FA I'd target the RT from the Falcons, Clabo. Thats a REALISTIC FA get unlike pipe dreams some ppl have of Rice/Vincent Jackson/Mankins.
Some info on Clabo: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/02/14/offseason-priorities-atlanta-falcons/ -
OneBuckeyeI would take Ryan Kerrigan over Watt all day at 6. But 6 would be too high for both.

I agree on Mankins & Jackson (who has already been franchised) but I think that Rice may be attainable. -

I made the comparison w/ Kerrigan and Jared Allen. I prefer Kerrigan over Watt, but would take either of them over Bowers.BR1986FB;681625 wrote:May have been mentioned by somebody before but JJ Watt reminds me of another high motor guy, Jared Allen. -
Commander of AwesomeI'll hold my breathe that Hardesty will play this yr /sarcasm. Dudes not even a lee suggs. Least suggs could make it 4 games in the regular season. Waste of a pick IMO.

Little early for this, IMO. -
Commander of AwesomeI was told the same thing about Veikune, knew the guy was a bum from the get go. Hardesty is a bum. 1 out of 4 yrs in college was he able to play more than 4 games, 2 knee injuries and numerous soft tissue injuries. Screams Courtney Brown to me. I doubt he's ever healthy.

Way too early for you to be giving a one year player the BS. Let him at least have time to develop into a RB, and if he sucks within a few years, then say it was a bad pick mr commander -
OQBWould the Browns try to trade picks in the draft to have 3 picks in the first 2 rounds? Remember, if the CBA doesn't get resolved by the draft the only thing that can be traded are draft picks.
What do you guys think about this scenario:
trade the 6th pick to move down to lets say 12-14, draft Watt or Kerrigan (pick up a 2 round pick from that team (Vikings, Lions, Rams)
with our 2nd round pick draft Titus Young, and then with the additional 2nd round pick draft Casey Mathews... -

Runningback is the easist postion to transfer to the NFL level. He doesn't need to develop, he needs to learn how to not be a china doll. Sorry the guy has an extensive injury history, excuse me for not being optimistic that all of a sudden out of no where he becomes non-injury prone. Sorry not buying it. Dude has never been able to stay healthy and I'm not a believer that he ever will be. Plus once you factor in all those injuries/surguries take their toll on his body/athletic ability and you're left with a bum/wasted draft pick. It was a stupid risk for heckert to take on a team this devoid of playmakers/talent. -
OneBuckeyeI would rather have Green + 2nd Round DL than Baldwin and 1st round DL. I just don't like Baldwin. I would take that mock draft in a second. 3 Defensive picks in the first 3 rounds and Pettis in the 4th. I would take that all day long.
-
Commander of AwesomePettis in the 4th would be an absolute steal. Whats your issues with Baldwin? I'm asking because I haven't seen him play.

Cry baby, not sure if he will be able to dominate NFL CBs. Just too big and slow we have enough of those types of WRs already. -
BR1986FBAgree on no more SLOW WR's. I'd like to see some Desean Jackson or Mike Wallace type speed at WR. Someone who can catch a short pass and not need a 20 yard head start <cough, Massaquoi, cough> to get to the end zone.
-
se-alumI'm at the point where I won't be upset no matter what strategy they take, as I am up in the air myself. AJ Green would be the biggest playmaker we could draft, but there are alot of WCO style receivers that can be taken in the 2-4 rounds. I think alot will be based on how the front office perceives Carlton Mitchell. If we could end up with Watts/Kerrigan, Titus Young, Cecil Shorts, and a LB when all is said and done, I would be happy.

se-alumThese mocks are all over the place. Might be one of the most unpredictable drafts I can remember.
