I'd take RG3 in the 2nd round. I want nothing to do with Landry Jones.BR1986FB;1009138 wrote:And there's the rub. If Barkley stays put and they can't trade up for a Luck, THEN fill your other holes. RG3 is good but I'm skeptical and Landry Jones is a bearded clam when he gets a little pressure in his face. Folds like a cheap lawnchair. The Weeden "kid" is about 100 years old so pass on him too. At that point you likely have to suffer with McCoy another season.
If the QB isn't close to "can't miss" there's no sense in risking taking another McCoy. -

I don't see any way RGIII lasts that long if he comes out. Especially with Jones' stock plummeting. I actually think Jones might return next year.sleeper;1009157 wrote:I'd take RG3 in the 2nd round. I want nothing to do with Landry Jones.
0 TD and 5 INT his last 3 games and a lot of scouts are starting to say he should consider not entering the draft. Especially if RGIII and Barkley do enter, he'd probably be better of waiting another year. -

zach24ozAfter watching McCoy make terrible throws/decisions with the ball, we do need to start looking at another option at QB. Need some more LBs and some better DBs. Sheldon Brown has to be done at corner, doesnt he?

like_that"From what I understand, once the quarterback leaves the pocket, he's considered a runner," Harrison said. "All the defenseless(ness) and liberties that a quarterback has in the pocket are gone and you can tackle him just as he's a running back. The hit wasn't late, so I really don't understand why it was called."
Maybe because you drilled him under his chin with your own helmet dumbass. -
wes_mantoothI agree that McCoy isn't the answer, but if Blackmon is there...I would rather have him. And then take either a LB or an Olineman with the 2nd pick. I think McCoy is good enough to be a stop gap until some of the other areas are fixed. I don't know though...this team is so bad that I just keep flip flopping on what I think they need.

That may be true (about McCoy..."stop gap") but "good" QB's do not need elite talent around them to excel. That's what everyone seems to be requesting as McCoy's supporting cast. If THAT'S going to be the case (going out and getting elite talent) they might as well put a much better than "serviceable" (McCoy) QB out there to run the offense.wes_mantooth;1010876 wrote:I agree that McCoy isn't the answer, but if Blackmon is there...I would rather have him. I personally think that the front office has already moved on from this "experiment" and will be bringing in another QB. -

I wonder where these mocks are getting the idea that the Browns will go RB in the first round. I really hope they don't.Commander of Awesome;1010975 wrote:http://www.draftcountdown.com/sub/Mock-Draft-A.php -
BR1986FBBrowns will be drafting higher than 9th, hence I don't see them taking a RB.

I can see teo staying for his senior year. Atleast I hope he does -
ts1227The Colt McCoy concussion debacle is being called a "blatant system failure" by the Browns, apparently they didn't test him until Fri.
Though anything involving Pat Shurmur can be classified as such.

They had Te'o to the Steelers last week.killer_ewok;1011027 wrote:Michael Floyd to the Browns and Manti Te'o to the Ravens.....NOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Best case scenario would be for DeCastro to fall to the Steelers. -
like_thatAtlanta losing 23-7 to the Panthers. A Panthers win helps the Browns out with both 1st round picks.

Sounds like grounds for termination (shurmur)

wes_mantoothseems like Carolina jumps out on everyone, then cam starts turning it over and they lose.

OhioStatePride2003
There's that, and then the fact that he just doesn't seem to know the rule. They changed the rule about QB's leaving the pocket prior to the start of the season. It doesn't matter if he throws from the pocket or not. The hit was late, or he at least had time to slow-up. The helmet-to-helmet hit is what got him flagged though.like_that;1009443 wrote:"From what I understand, once the quarterback leaves the pocket, he's considered a runner," Harrison said. Peyton threw 28 INT's his rookie year. After today Cam has 16. For his sake I hope Cam doesn't throw 12 in the next 3 games. But he will have the most yards passing in a rookie season when it's all over. I'm not saying he'll ever be the caliber of Peyton but he is a special talent. I've caught all but two Panther games and he has ridiculous talent. But rookie decision making creeps up from time to time. Like todays left handed shovel pass as he is getting sacked. Give him the time to learn, if he's still making those mistakes in the next few seasons then he should be questioned. In the mean time he has the makings of being a franchise QB.Pick6;1011395 wrote:But Cam is the next Peyton Manning!
