I disagree. I think it was the players. You have 5 different QBs in two years. Go from Lewis to Harrison to Hillis. Have whom at WR?

Right that is only part of what mangina did too. He got rid of Braylon, Winslow etc... Personell was only 1 part of how mangina slowed down the O.

Gotcha, agree. I think he was trying to build a solid base before dealing with talented idiots and ran out of time.

I know im in the minority in the "Draft a QB" camp, but look at the playoffs year after year and you see year after year who is in the playoffs (the top Qbs)

Sure you CAN make it with a "serviceable" QB, but you have to be SPECIAL in many other categories. Playoffs baby. Big Ben, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan, Jay Cutler... I don't see any "mediocre" Qbs in this group. Sorry. Even Sanchez is pretty good.

Gotta get a Mallet. Trade down if you want.

So we are going to run a WCO (horizontal) and draft Ryan Mallett (vertical QB)?

LMAO at mallett and Sanchez. Sanchez sucks, sorry. If you watch any game and come away thinking he's good, then we're watching different tape.

Sanchez looks great at times and awful at others.

The only QB "lock" I thought in this draft was Luck and he is staying. I'm not sure how I'd feel about Mallet.

Cleveland has so many holes to fill I don't think its even worth taking a QB early in this draft. I don't see anyone making an immediate impact anyway.

    Yep...to all of this post.

They need either get a solid receiver via free agency or with the 1st pick. If they have to....trade back and accumulate more picks. We can not afford to miss with this draft though...very important to the future of this franchise.

I was with you until you said Jay Cutler.....sure he is a good QB but nothing close to the elite guys. He just won his very first playoff game yesterday and he has been in the league how long now? Sanchez is the product of the system, great run game and defense which means the pass is going to be wide open. I agree we need another QB, because I don't think anyone is 100% sold on McCoy just yet....but I'd take McCoy over any of the QB's in this draft any day, especially Mallet.

It was just my humblest of humble of opinion. I think that Mallet will make a probowl though.

It's not that I know the future, it's the fact that for the first time in a while, we don't need to draft a qb and you think we do. We need to get an offensive play maker such as a number 1 receiver or we need to draft a pass rusher or a cb such as patrick peterson or amukamara. The fact you even mentioned mallet makes me laugh

Mallet makes YOU laugh, yet me and every GM looks at him as a 1st Round Talent. Sorry God. Also, I said if we can "TRADE DOWN" and get Mallet, meaning get more picks for more players.

If we draft where we are, I always want the best available player. So what I was saying is if we do trade our pick. But if we trade down and get Mallet at a value and then have more picks, I think that's the right way to go.

Drafting a qb is a dumb idea, period. Trading down to get a qb is even dumber...and me and EVERY SCOUT agrees that mallet isn't going to the browns.

Lawlz at Cutler and Sanchez being in the list above.

DA made a pro bowl too....

You have been sucking Mallet's penis ever since he had 1 good half vs Alabama. Then just like DA he threw 3-4 picks. We don't need to draft another DA.

Still, you want to draft a quarterback that has an arm, and throws downfield well, with huge short/intermediate accuracy issues, to play in a system on our team that runs 90% short/intermediate routes, and takes few shots down field.

    That's what doesn't make sense.

I could understand if you wanted to draft a QB who's skillset compliments our system, but grabbing a guy who doesn't fit the scheme at all?

That'd be like drafting Marcel Dareus and playing him as a 34 OLB.

Not to mention Mallet isn't the brightest crayon in the box....I'd put him about a step above Ted Ginn Jr. in terms of interviews. Is he a good athlete yes, does he have a cannon arm yes, is he a pro bowl QB no. Does he slip to the 2-3rd round yes.

I would rather go 0-16 this coming season and get Andrew Luck in next year's draft than pick Mallet anywhere in this year's draft.

Both of those opinions make me believe you are very, very delusional.
