Cleveland Browns 2011 Super Awesome In-Season Thread

OQBHave you ever heard the guy talk? It's very similar to Ginn.
Of course I don't want to go 0-16....I was trying to prove a point that the Browns absolutely do NOT need Mallet....it makes ZERO sense, kind of like the majority of your posts. -

I would rather go 0-16 this coming season and get Andrew Luck in next year's draft than pick Mallet anywhere in this year's draft.
I told you this before, but you need to put the beer down. -
DaBrowns41Mallett is a head case in the locker room as well, from what I've heard. Quite arrogant, kind of an asshole and doesn't take things seriously. He really screams Derek Anderson.
But he won't fall to the 2nd round, IMO. Someone will fall in love with that laser rocket arm. -
OQBYou guys really do not get analogies do you......SHEESH!
Drafting Mallet would be as bad as going 0-16.....their do you guys comprehend that? -

No i do, but that was a horrible analogy. -
Commander of AwesomeYou were talking 0-16 there bud, that's ground for electroshock.

ytownfootballMallett has proven on more than several occasions that he doesn't have what it takes to win in big game situations. He put up big numbers against weak competition, but when it came down to needing a game winning TD/drive whatever, he would inevitably throw a pick.
Who the fuck wants that? -
OQBLike I said....Going 0-16 is just as bad as drafting Mallet.

OQB
Exactly my point!! We have a better shot at winning with McCoy.ytownfootball;642191 wrote:Mallett has proven on more than several occasions that he doesn't have what it takes to win in big game situations. ytownfootballgoing ofer 16 is not = to drafting Mallett, I don't want him but I don't want ofer 16 worse.

Great example is the Alabama game in which he tore them apart first half, then fell apart the 2nd half. That was the game where rydawg started to suck his dick and post about how the browns need to draft him (in fact he started the thread during the 1st half lol fail). Another great example of DA 2.0's clutch performance is the sugar bowl. Enough said there. -
ytownfootballHis whole career has been the same. People remember a couple hi-light bombs but forget the picks that lost games. That is typically an attribute that is unable to be fixed.

Agree, but I could see Gabbert, Locker, and Newton all go before Mallet...imo BUt you are right on in your evaluation of Mallet in the locker room. -
OQBRyan Mallet: Overrated College QB, drafted way to high, can't and won't win in the NFL, Career backup

how long do you have to keep it for? -
NateWhen people say that oh the draft gurus and NFL staffs think this person is a 1st round talent, blah blah blah, all I can think about is names like Tim Couch, Akili Smith, Ryan Leaf. Those were "sure fire" first round talents. Ryan Mallet will fall in the same category. Even better, how about Jamarcus Russell? There are more busts than bangs in the first round when it comes to QBs.

until the steelers lose, or 30 days...but with the way things are going, I'll probably be banished to the basement since you can't say anything on this site? -
SagemallINT, no thanks.
i'll take mccoy in the west coast offense. -
thedynasty1998I'm in the camp that thinks Mallett will be an absolute stud. I know there are many who dislike him, and that's fine.
I don't think the Browns draft him, but I think it's a mistake.
And people who criticize Sanchez are wrong. He's not elite, but he's still improving and plays well in big games. You can't argue against what he's been able to accomplish in his short career. To think the Browns drafted a center instead of a guy who is the franchise QB of a team playing in the AFC Championship is sickening. -
ytownfootballColor me shocked.

Let's be realistic here. How well do you think Sanchez would be doing behind the Browns O-line if they had drafted him? He's been somewhat inconsistent with a pretty good team around him. I'd hate to think what he'd be like with the lack of talent on the Browns offense.thedynasty1998;642832 wrote:I'm in the camp that thinks Mallett will be an absolute stud. looking at that draft, what the fuck were we thinking? we chose robiskie, massoquoi, and veikune? We had three fucking picks in the second round, and couldn't muster at least someone who could produce? -

Who knows? How good would Aaron Rodgers be in Cleveland? No one can predict that.
However, Cleveland passed on a franchise QB, to draft Mack. Would Sanchez have worked out? Maybe, maybe no. It's just hard to to imagine what their thought process was.
And yes, he's been inconsistent. But he's at least been good at times. What can we say about the Browns QB's? That they have shown the potential to be average?
Obviously you can't redo it now, but I just hope that they don't make the same mistake again. Ideally, they would trade down, pick up another pick and get a QB later in the draft, but that's just my opinion. I know it's not shared by all. -
