Oakland has a superbowl appearance in the last ten years, so I can think of many other franchises that are worse....I do think Al Davis is a joke though.

Are you serious? I've been to 4 Lions games. And every time I was wearing the opposing teams jersey(been there for 2 Cowboys games and my ex-gfs dad is a bears fan and he got tickets for us for 2 of there games and I wore his old school walter payton jersey). The fans at detriot were always pretty cool to me. Granted the one time the Lions beat the Bears and there was one douce who started saying the Bears suck and all that jazz after the game but that is to be expected.

I'll just say this at NFL games its expect to hear curse words/have drunken fans/if someone is wearing the opposing teams jersey they will get stuff said to them. But any type of physical no matter the age is just out of line.

I'm very serious, but I agree 100% that this, IF it happened the way it was represented, crossed the line....I also have attended Lions games vs. the Vikings and the Packers, and have witnessed not only a FULL bottle of beer (albeit plastic) thrown at a fan wearing a Viking hard hat (not only dangerous, but stupid to waste a beer), and a shoving incident initiated by a 20-something Lions fan and a 60+ something fan wearing a Packers jersey... yes, it goes on in every stadium, but it does seem to manifest itself more in outdoor stadiums.

Browns fans are the best fans in the game. When you dominate a team like they did and lose, your fans are going to react. Don't wear another team's jersey or don't take your kids to the game if you don't want that shit happening.

Capone, you are going to buy me all my alcohol for the game

Wow what kind of idiot would waste a full beer fucking moron. I guess our exeperiences with Lions fans have been completely different haha which goes to show their are good and terrible fans for all teams. And people shouldn't let one or a few idiots ruin it for the rest. And I agree for some reason more shit seems to happen in outdoor stadium.

How many people on this board have been to every stadium to watch a game?? If you haven't you can't possibly make a determination of who has the worst fans. Just cause you have 2 or 3 sources(Joe @ the water cooler, the mailman, and the trash guy), it doesn't make your statement relevant unless you have seen all fan bases for yourself. At least then, you can make a hypothesis based on what you've witnessed.

Browns fans, rest assured, Eric Wright had nothing to do with this.

so by your logic, if LSU beats Ohio State in the sugar bowl, i can go punch my neighbors daughters because they're all LSU fans?

    solid.

Granted i've not been to them all, but i've been to enough to formulate my own opinion. For the record I don't think i ever said "worst in the league" i just said worst that i've been to.

FWIW I've been to 6 stadiums:

    Denver
    Pittsburgh
    New Orleans
    Houston
    Cleveland
Cincinnatti (with my dad when i was like 8, and hadn't quite abandoned my father's team)

If the kid had been a Browns fan at a Jets game he'd got shivved.

Went to a Browns gane in Indy a few years back with 6 of my friends. Saturday night, before the game, we were out on the town. (wearing Browns merchandise) Walked out of a club and down the street to a sidewalk hotdog vendor. As we got there, I was shoved by a guy I never saw coming. I went down and ended up with a plate and 9 screws in my left wrist. Did I deserve it? To say this kind of stuff only happens in Cleveland is one of the most moronic and ignorant things to say. EVERY city has it's bad apples.

BTW...I did go to the game....had surgery on tuesday in Ohio.

If you've had a rough day at work, that would be therapeutic. Especially if you can bounce him off a wall for that BAM-BAM ricochet effect.

Justin, can you offer a site reward for anyone here who can provide picture proof that they punched Modell in the face at this game?

This thread is an absolute dumpster fire. ::grabs kerosene::

At the risk of being pegged as a "troll" or accused of "intelligent trolling"......here's my take......

It is ridiculous to make blanket statements about an entire fan base following the actions of one ASSHOLE. EVERY fan base has these fucking trash people. Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Cincy, New England, New Orleans, etc. So I'd prefer to refer to the INDIVIDUAL who acted like a dumb fuck here.

Should you expect some rowdy, drunk, obnoxious fucks at a game? Sure. That being said, I don't give a shit what the kid was wearing.....I sure as hell don't expect to go to an away game with my kid wearing the opposition's jersey/colors and plan to be physically attacked. "Steelers suck," "Pittsburgh fucking blows," etc. Yeah, I'd expect that. And if I'm an adult and I'm talking shit then I wouldn't be surprised to encounter aggression from the home team's fans either. However, if my 8-year old and I are at an away game simply wearing the "enemy's" colors/jersey and not provoking people with actions......it's fucking ridiculous to assault either one of us.....but ESPECIALLY the 8-year old. Talk about a pussy. How come this bitch didn't go after a hulk-like beast man wearing a Jets jersey? No, that's right.....attack an 8-year old you ignorant coward. I'm not buying the "what do you expect?" line. I expect half-decent human beings to refrain from tackling children. That's inexcusable no matter how you slice it.

I mean, let's say you decide to go drinking with some friends one night and you head to a bar and some drunk asshole sucker punches you and caves in your eye socket for no other reason than he just didn't like the way you looked or never saw you there before so you didn't belong. Should we say,"Well, if you're going out to a bar you gotta keep your head on a swivel and expect that sort of thing." No, it's dead wrong and disgusting. Uncalled for and should not be expected. These Jets fans should not have truly considered being assaulted by Browns fans prior to heading to the game simply because they wore green and white to Cleveland Stadium. That would be absurd.

Again, I do think that labeling Cleveland fans this or that based on one fuckhead is silly. I also think that if a Steeler fan had done this you'd have some on here making blanket statements about Steeler fans and Pittsburgh folks in general. "Typical Shitsburgh fan!!!" I have little doubt in my mind that would be going on if that was the case. Unfortunately, that's just the way it is. The bad behavior by a fan isn't unique to Cleveland and the Steeler fans don't have the market cornered when it comes to piling on either.

The Browns dominated the Jets? How so?

Jets dominated in time of possession, total yards, first downs, 3rd down efficiency and won the turnover battle 2-1. If the Jets had a competent kicker the game would've ended in regulation.

Were the Jets lucky to win at the end? Yes. Did the Browns dominate them? Clearly not.

The Browns are the better team, that's why it was frustrating to lose, there's no doubt about it.

Yeah, I agree....the time of possession stat really got our attention at the game. The Jets simply controlled the entire 2nd half, but missed field goals killed some 6 and 7 minute drives. The Browns had their chance to steal the game, but made a mistake...but no way did they dominate the Jets.

You certainly can have an opinion of which team has the worst fans, of the 6 teams that you have watched at their home stadium.
