  An 8-year-old New York Jets fan was tackled by an adult Browns fan after Sunday's game, according to a television station in Cleveland.
  
  The boy went to the game at Cleveland Browns Stadium in a Jets jersey with his father, who was born in New York. Much to the chagrin of the local crowd, the Jets rallied for a 26-20 overtime victory. The boy's mother, identified only as Danielle by ABC affiliate WEWS because she didn't want to reveal her last name, said the fans in the stadium were great, but things got out of control after the game.
  
  "Calling him a bad word, to my husband and to my son, throwing food at them," she said, according to WEWS.
  
  When the family reached the parking lot, the situation got uglier.

  "As [my husband] was walking, holding my son's hand, a guy from behind tackled him. A drunken Browns fan tackled him and pulled him out of his dad's hand. He was on the ground crying," Danielle said, according to the station.
  
  The boy was left with a scraped and bruised ankle. The mother said her husband didn't call police, opting instead to quickly get in the car and leave. When reached by the television station, Browns vice president of media relations Neal Gulkis called the situation unfortunate and disappointing and said the team is looking into the matter.
  
  Gulkis said the scoreboard displays a number fans can text message to alert security to disorderly fans. The city of Cleveland, which operates the parking lot where the alleged incident took place, previously had added extra security.
  
  The boy's mother had been nervous about her son attending the game, but believed "kids are off limits. Clevelanders are such great people. I knew that they would never hurt an 8-year-old kid, never."
  
  The boy might be seeing his next Jets game in New Jersey.
  
  "My husband asked him, 'Did you have a good time?' He said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Would you want to go back sometime?' And he said, 'No, I don't like Browns Stadium.' Who could blame him?" the boy's mother said.

  If true, this is absolutely disgusting.
  
  But honestly, I have a hard time believing that a grown man would tackle an 8 year old on pavement. And even if a grown man really did tackle an 8 year old on pavement, I feel like the other Brown's fans would do something to said asshole. And also the injuries would be more than a scraped knee and bruised ankle; those injuries seem more in line with a drunk ass fan falling over.

  I have no trouble believing this....after what I saw and heard at my first NFL game on Sunday in Cleveland Browns stadium.
  
  The language and taunts directed at anyone in a Jet's jersey was appalling
  
  The Brown's need to get this under control...my suggestion would be to quit selling beer.

  Poor home fan behavior is certainly not relegated to Cleveland Browns stadium. Pro football games have been notoriously touted as non-family oriented across the league. Alcohol is a problem, but if you don't sell it people will just flask it in anyway.

  It only takes one moron to make an entire fan base look bad. It's unfortunate that something like this happened, but sadly I would imagine you could find a story like this after most all games, across the NFL.

  Not that this is ok, but Im shocked at the fact that people still wear opposing teams logos, colors, jerseys, etc to stadiums. It is just asking for this type of treatment. You know its coming, its easy to avoid by NOT wearing it.

  Apparently by the responses I'm getting from the Cleveland fan base I'm waaaay off track with my thought process about fans not being this retarded.
  
  I think the NFL has a serious fan issue if this is considered acceptable... hell even if throwing food and cussing at people is the norm there is a big issue.

  Lol...You're getting? The reactions are those you would find with ANY fan base and most assuredly not "off base". This is hardly...hardly unique to Cleveland. I'm sure you know this.

  I never said this was localized to cleveland, I said the NFL has a problem if this is the norm. I was saying though that Cleveland fans saying that they're not surprised by this shows that I was off base thinking this wouldn't actually happen and be acceptable.

  totally disagree. people have to accept that someone who may have grown up somewhere else has migrated to cleveland for whatever reason.
  
  i've worn that jersey to cleveland, denver, NOLA, Houston, and Pittsburgh have only been had "hey faggot how's that fucking touchdown feel?" screamed at me in 1 stadium, cleveland. That wasn't all the shit i was subjected to in cleveland, but it was the worst one.
  
  hell i even wear my OSU jerseys and hoodies to Tiger stadium and never have shit yelled/thrown at me. usually they just say "tiger bait" with a big smile on their faces as i tip them a nod and raise my beer.

  Don't go to an opposing teams stadium wearing visiting teams jersey if you don't want to be fucked with...it's as simple as that. Don't act like the browns are the only place to do this shit, and not to mention that the Jet's fans were probably deserving of it. There is no one worse than a new york sports fan.
