Young Jets fan roughed up

And yes, sometimes passionate does mean drunken boors.

I get what you are saying, but you have to know what to expect at an NFL game. I agree that certain people take it too far, but in general I think most fans behavior would be deemed acceptable.
I would not say that being loud on 3rd and 1 is obnoxious. I would say that starting to cheer 'ASS----HOLE......ASS----HOLE' whenever a Jets fan comes into the section before the game is slightly obnoxious. I would also say screaming, at the top of your lungs 'FUCK YOU JETS' every 30 seconds for 10 minutes is obnoxious.

I would also say that the fans in front of me who absolutely lost interest in the game in the middle of the second quarter once they got too drunk to stand up are not passionate fans. they are just looking for an excuse to get passed-out drunk.

Why would I expect this behavior at an NFL game when the Commissioner of the league states that this type of behavior will not be tolerated? Given that it happens, and many people on here, who must be considered to by typical Browns fans, condone it...why would I ever go back?

Coming from a "fan" of a team who got their ass handed to them on national TV.

A lot of home fans will boo the opposing fans when they're walking around before the game or if those fans start celebrating and getting cocky while their team is having success, but Cleveland fans are the worst for wanting to start something with normal, decent folks who aren't stirring up anything. That's just being assholes. I think it's the bitterness of being in such a toilet city that constantly loses.
good god, you've obviously never been to a Lions game in Detroit

lol....the stupidity continues. As a Cleveland fan you should be very familiar with "getting your ass handed to you."

It's the Cleveland way. Be an idiot. Rock the boat. And look to take out your frustration by running onto the field, throwing bottles or tackling a kid.

You are slowly but surely working your way up to being the most ignorant idiot poster on this forum.

That's the problem there is so much jealousy and frustration that they can't win on the field or in any arena.

So the only way to live as a Cleveland fan is to continue to be a jerk or resort to violence.

Yeah, after the kid "got tackled" the dad turned tail and ran to his car like a coward. Sorry, real man/dad wouldn't take that shit or abuse on his kid.

Or in the online world....personal attacks.

Its not hard to figure out.....bring out some facts and you get called a name. Like you said....frustrated with supporting a losing franchise. The funny thing is...Commander actually thinks hes "winning" this argument, or "putting us in our place."

Where are you facts in this thread? Its nothing but bashing by both of you trolls. Nice FAIL dumbass.

    That's a whole nother topic.

What should a dad do in that situation?

Likely, unless he's Superman, he's going to stick up for his kid and fight back and then get jumped by 20 people and end up beat up or dead. Which isn't exactly what you want your kid to see either.

But I agree with the Browns contingent in this case, the dad still should take his chances and protect his son even if it means getting killed.

Sad that it would come to this after a game, which none of the fans have any control over.

If this actually happened the way it is being reported then it's completely unacceptable and the person should be held responsible. That said...if any of the guys I tailgate with saw a man tackle a little kid and injure him they would kick his ass themselves. My friends, family and I like to get hammered when we tailgate but I've never seen any of them cross the line into this type of behavior. We yell at opposing fans and give them a hard time (including the asshole chant because it's a must) but to me that's to be expected in the Muni Lot and even in the stadium.

As someone else already posted, there is a family friendly section at CBS and if you are that worried about what your kids might hear and/or see you should sit there. Furthermore, anyone that takes their kid into the Muni Lot is an idiot in my opinion. What exactly do you think you will see when you walk into a place designed for drinking and being rowdy? That's the purpose of tailgating there. There are plenty of other lots to park in where you don't have to worry about bad behavior.

Oh and one of my brothers was sucker punched (by a Bengals fan) while he was tailgating near Paul Brown Stadium for a Browns/Bengals game. To act like this only happens in Cleveland is idiotic.

I'm a die hard Cleveland fan. I've never taken a shit on a Steeler fans front porch. I've never punched an eight year old kid. I've never given anyone a reason to think I'm violent in any way, shape or form.

Go fuck yourself with your high and mighty over simplified generalizations Zod. You're just being a dick, flat out.

Agree completely. I've seen far worse at OSU games, and experienced some (not sucker punched) at the Redskins when the browns played them a few years ago.
