Brandon Phillips calls the St Louis Cardinals "Bitches"

Yeah I was absolutely loving Dusty when I was watching replays of that.

Side note, I was on the way to this game when our fricken car ran out of gas. I was so pissed off, then my friend texted me 'brawwwwlll!!!' and I was so fucking pissed off...how the hell do I miss a brawl?? :(

How do you let your car run out of gas?

I was wondering the same thing because I thought he rode a bike everywhere.

    Ran out of gas? SMH.

So for someone who got "kicked in the face with spikes," Jason LaRue doesn't have a scratch on his face.

Youre worried about missing the brawl? Im worried about how someone can let their car go all the way to empty, lol.

    The meters broke..it wasn't my car, I wasn't driving.

And Wainwright says "it's very unprofessional to fire back."

Hey Wainwright, you might want to tell that to your manager and the rest of your team.

Yeah, I wondered about this as well. No doubt LaRussa is only playing it up in order to get a longer suspension for Cueto.

And if it was soooooo bad to send him to the DL, why was he still in the dugout today?? Shouldn't he have been in the hospital or something??

You all do realize that Carpenter and Rolen are friends and Rolen wasn't going after him, he was trying to hold him back after he chirped at Baker, then Baker came chirping back. The two of them spent 10 mi nutes or so chatting and joking on the field hthis morning around 10:30 before the game. It all just escalted quickly when LaRussa and Baker started going after each other. When Rolen rushed Carpenter to pull him back that sudden rush moved the pile and that's what caused the mayhem on the backstop. Who cares now, Cards swept, Reds move on to the West Coast and it'll be pushed aside unless someone else pipes off in the coming 3 weeks or so.
Oh and and far as Larue - he had several minor stitches above his lip, a little dizziness from a minor concussion, and some bruising on his ribs. Nothing major.

Cueto said he started kicking in self defense because he was scared.

As for my thoughts on the matter, while I have no problem with Phillips calling the Cards bitches (I, for one, think a sort of "these teams hate each other" vibe is slowly disappearing in today's world of multi-millionaires who all are friends during the off-season and welcome any instance where true "let's kill these mo-fos!" attitude is seen)...when you call a team out and then suck against them while your team gets swept at home...that's the sort of thing that can turn seasons around.

I have good friends who are Reds fans. My Pirates are sucking. I'd love nothing more than to be partying with them while they experience their team making a playoff run. But after these last few days (and I hope I'm wrong), there's a part of me thinking that won't happen and a lot of people will be pointing at this series as a big part of the reason why. Let's face it, the Reds called out the Cards and the next thing they knew, Chris Tucker was leaning over them saying, "You just got knocked the fuck out!". Not a good statement to make.

Yeah, Phillips was only trying to get his team pumped up and hold onto first place. The only problem is that his teammates remembered that they play for the Queen City and bent over for the Redbirds. Have a nice offseason, Reds.

    It's 3 games fellas.

    Yep.

Reds got swept by the Pirates and then won 2/3 against the Dodgers.
Swept by the Braves (2 games) and then won 2/3 against the Indians.
Swept by the Mariners and then swept the A's.
Swept by the Phillies and then won 4 of the next 5 games.

They've always managed to bounce back from a sweep.

    Ok.

Anyone who thinks the Reds season is over because they lost 3 games and are ONE game out of first place is an idiot. Fact.

I wonder if the Reds fans would have had the same response had the Reds SWEPT the Cards?

I didn't say they would win the division so I am not sure what this post is for.

All of those were on the Road not at HOME.

A 5 game lead would've been much harder for the Cards to overcome than the one game lead that the Reds now need to overcome. But, no, it wouldn't have been time to celebrate a division title.
