Cleveland Cavaliers (current) off-season rumors

  cavs would be gutted all over if they do that deal for bosh.

  PF: Bosh, Jamison, Powe, Williams
  C: NONE (assuming Ilgauskus and Shaq are gone)
  
  If the cavs get bosh does that affect LBJ's signing at all? Meaning does he opt for the max deal instead of a 3-4 yr deal as is being reported.

  I agree. Cavs would be gutted but they would still have the MLE and BAE to work with. IF the Bosh thing goes down they might take on a player from the Raptors as well and maybe that player fills a void.

  No, since Chicago is so far under the cap they could trade Toronto a $16 million dollar trade exception straight up for Bosh, and that would allow Toronto to basically go out and buy a $16 million dollar a year guy (someone like Okafor). That is what Colangelo originally wanted because of the flexibility it offered them given their cap position.
  
  Chicago really doesn't want to to that because it fusses with their cap space, but if push comes to shove they may break down and do it.
  
  Expiring deals are of no real value to Toronto, because if it was really about clearing cap space they would not take back any salary for Bosh and just let him walk.

  That roster is a mess in a way, because Jamison becomes a $14 million dollar bench player in that scenario as Bosh and Lebron control all minutes at the 3 and 4 positions.
  
  If he were willing to play the 5 it is one thing, but he has complained about the beating his body takes from it and he thinks it is going to shorten his career. Cleveland sounds like it is going to have to do the sales job of a lifetime to convince him to come here as it is, if you tell him part of it includes him playing center I think that sends him on the first plane to somewhere else as he is being a baby about it, and has been the past few seasons in Toronto.

  I think the Cavs will find somebody to fill in at the center position. Jermaine Oneal could probably be had. You could plug in Oneal and even bring Kauhn over for the season.

  First off, Broussard has claimed a lot of things, so him saying Toronto will work with Cleveland doesn't mean anything until it's done.
  
  As for Houston, they play in the West. So let's keep it in perspective. Losing in the 2nd round of the western conference playoffs is like losing in the eastern conference finals.

  Houston won 55 games a couple years ago when Yao was healthy. They have a solid core of players and if they have Bosh alongside Yao, that is BY FAR the best front court in the NBA. People seem to think Houston is a bad team, yet they are right there at the top of the west when everyone is healthy.

  No one is saying Houston is a bad team...but you already said it--they're really really good and can still only make it to the 2nd round of the playoffs. No way Bosh goes there. If he does, he doesn't want to win.

  Lets not act as if that Rockets team will be the same with Bosh. They will have to give up plenty of good players to be in the running. How can we say Bosh puts them over the top when we dont even know what they would be giving up? Rockets would still be left with some talent but wont have a player on that roster that even comes close to Lebron.

  Just saw on ESPN that the Raptors have interest in the Cavaliers trading chips, but they also say that Bosh doesn't want to play in Cleveland. One of the owners in the free agent shuffle says that he thinks Bosh and Wade are going to Miami

  Yeah, This is where it stands now. According to some sources it sounds like the Cavs and Lebron are trying to convince Bosh. It would mean more money if he signed with Cleveland.

  back to my original question, does knowing that Bo$h is here for the full 6 years convince LBJ to sign a max deal? or will he stick with a 3-4 year deal? because if it means keeping lebron for 6 years as opposed to 3, i'd also gut the team for that.

  As has been mentioned before, I think Lebron will sign the max deal so he's grandfathered but there will be a 3 year out clause.

  They were talking about the Bosh/Wade situation on Mike & Mike this morning. They seem to think those two will end up in Chicago together.
  
  This may have been mentioned before (I was unaware of this) but they said that Wade had gone through/was going through a divorce and his kids would be living in Chicago?
  
  That would be a lot of $$$ to leave on the table in Miami but I've heard he (Wade) may weigh his family life heavier than the money. I don't see Bosh leaving any money on the table. Greedy bastard may even try to steal some of Wade's.

  I wouldn't pay attention to any twitter updates. Look around, each team thinks they got something cooking with Bosh, but yet there are national insiders throwing dirt on Cleveland and Miami. Point is, nobody knows shit, and they're proving that time and time again. I can see Toronto agreeing to get a 16TPE and 2 1st's and maybe some 2nd's for Bosh to Miami before they agree to anything with Cleveland-- because of Bosh. A lot depends on what they give up for Bosh. That roster may not look as sexy when there are some nice pieces leaving just to get him. Plus, they need a center and I think they'd have to get one before he agrees to anything. That'll be pretty hard to do knowing they probably can't pay Haywood what he's looking for. I don't see JO going there because he and Bosh have proven they don't look good together.

  He's also getting divorced, that extra money in Miami may come in handy. I don't think this kids thing is as big of a deal as people are trying to make it. He's divorced.. it's not like he can come home and just see them now. He's going to see them less no matter what. If he wants his kids around, there are ways to get it done while in Miami. If he leaves I think it's because he didn't get the help he wanted and can see that the grass is greener in other places.

  All true. Heat dont have a center either. It seems like one of the biggest sticking points for Bosh is that he doesnt want to play that position.

  No they don't, that's why I think they're going to try and quickly act on trading for Haywood to team up with Bosh once LBJ's decision is quite clear he isn't coming.
