First of all, the Knicks just gave Amar'e 20 million. They can't give lebron the max, how else are they going to fill the roster? Sorry, Lebron and Amar'e alone do not win a title.

The salary on a max deal the first year is slightly under $17 million if I am not mistaken. It averages $20 million over the life of the deal because the back end years are worth alot more than the front end.

They can still sign another max guy.

    Chris Broussard Twitter(10 Hours Ago):

NYK's plan to have Amare and next yr Carmelo has intrigued LeBron. Not saying NYK is frontrunner (they're not) but they're gaining ground

Some guy named Sam Amico from NBA.com is claiming his "sources" from the West Coast supposedly have LBJ & Bosh to Miami with Wade. Claims this "source" also told him Brian Shaw would turn down the Cavs 12 hours before it happened. Really? I didn't know Shaw turned US down.

Jesus Christ....all of the "shit" being thrown against the wall in this thread is making it smell like an outhouse. I get the feeling that one particular poster has his eyes closed with dick firmly in hand saying "please leave Cleveland, Lebron....please leave Cleveland."
  • wes_mantooth
yeah, this is getting torn apart on RCF. Sadly, I keep reading all this garbage....because I like to hear the next crazy rumor!

Then why even post it? There are thousands of people posting shit that's most likely bullshit, we don't need more people posting stuff from Quesfire? WTF is that?

Don't answer that, I know you are mentally handicapped.

Not really sure what you are trying to do here. You quote a rumor and then complain about all the shit. If it's garbage just leave it away from here.

    Couple tweets from Windy:

Based on several people who have talked to LeBron in last 72 hours, he is giving impression he's undecided after last week's meetings.

He really likes Rose & Noah. But there's lack if shooters on roster. Also it doesn't sound like he's exactly being welcomed by Rose.

Also, can confirm several reports of a rift between Wes Wesley & James camp. Wes was indeed pushing Chicago, I'm told.

At this point, LeBron has tightly closed ranks, only seriously talking about decision with a couple people. Which is why so little info.

I keep hearing WWW's name, but honestly, what does he bring to the table? He really serves no purpose other than suckling at the teet of Lebron's gravy train.

Thats really all he does. Dude is a leach. He thinks he has more influence than he really does. Thats probably why Carter and the rest of Brons inner circle told him to get lost.

His calling card was MJ.. I guess he got MJ some kind of deal and ever since then, he's been an insider to many players "circles" since then. Dennis Rodman called him the biggest ass kisser he's ever seen.

Woj reported earlier about him that this would either make or break WWW. If WWW could deliver LeBron to a big city, he'd have it made.. Just as much as Maverick has it made in Cleveland with the Cavs FO right now... WWW would never have that kind of power in Cleveland, so he was trying to push LeBron away.

    WHOA!

Ok, let's say that Amar'e is making 17 mill this year..

The Knicks still owe Eddy 10.. That's already 27 million, which is just about HALF of the salary cap already..

Then you have Gallinari and Chandler making about a combined 4 million and Tony Douglas and Bill Walker making close to 2 mill combined..

That's 33 million give or take a little.. Add another max contract for about 17 or so million and you're at 50 mill..

That would leave you anywhere from 3-6 million depending on the cap number to sign players. The Knicks don't have the MLE since they're obviously under the cap.. NO WAY they fill the roster by adding two max contracts.. The money just doesn't work.

If they can get another max player, they will sign them. Basically you can look for them to fill the roster out with minimum salary guys (you can add as many as you want even if your over the cap) on 1 year deals so that next year they have some cap room again when Curry comes off.

It's not ideal, but they and every other team clearing cap space knew this a while ago. with a $56 million dollar cap, 2 max guys eat up 60% of the cap. You try and get another big salary guy down the road, and then add guys using the mid-level once you're over the cap. As long as you don't trade away your draft picks every year, teams have made this formula work. It just doesn't happen over night and takes time.

True, but you're not going to win an NBA championship with 2 max guys and a bunch of scrubs. LeBron isn't going to NY, especially to be mediocre for a year.. I could definitely see NY getting Melo next year though.. I've been saying that since last season.

JA Adande is reporting that Mike Miller told him he would LOVE to play in Cleveland with LeBron and would take the MLE to do so.

We do need our token white dude.

I find that hard to believe that he had an offer of $30 million and the would be willing to take the MLE

Miller would be nice...but you guys would still need a down-low presence

    LOL..

The 30 Million was the MLE from the Lakers.. Come on man, if you're going to talk NBA know your stuff.

You can stack years onto the MLE.

And no shit we'd need a down low presence.. We'd have the pieces to trade for one.
