Cleveland Cavaliers (current) off-season rumors
-
hoops23Today, Ric Bucher reported that Cleveland has begun discussion with Toronto about a Sign & Trade for Bosh. Obvious that this was going to be done, but let's hope it progresses into more than just 'talk'.
Also, a New Orleans beat reporter (Les East, I think?) was on ESPN Cleveland a couple of days ago talking trade scenarios and giving the state of the Hornets. Basically he said the things we already knew, but also included the fact that the Cavs could possibly get Darren Collison.
- CP3 is no longer on the trade block. Probable new ownership put a squash to any major firesale.
- Darren Collison isn't exactly on the block, but is definitely tradable. Thinks team would have to take Posey or Okafor as well.
- Hornets definitely want to make some moves, and would prefer to get it done sooner than later
- Hornets are still losing money -
jordo212000Chris Paul is going nowhere. That's been established already.

hoops23Can you read? LMAO.

Yeah I was referring to the fact that this was already brought up in another thread and several people agreed that it would incredibly stupid to trade Chris Paul. -
hoops23Roger.
However, let's not turn this thread into another debate about CP3, let's kind of leave this one geared more towards the Cavs. -
devil1197If Cleveland lands Bosh its this week imo.
Cleveland will need to buy/trade into the 1st round and then package that 1st rounder to Toronto. The Raptors want picks and young talent, but they also like Varejao and Williams for some reason. The Raptors could want to fully rebuild and dump Hedo's long contract possibly taking a shorter Jamison contract that will be an expiring after next season. -
thedynasty1998I'm sorry, but I just don't see the Cavs landing Bosh. Reason 1, I don't think Bosh wants to play in Cleveland. Reason 2, the Cavs don't have the pieces that other teams can offer.

I agree with Reason 2, but Bosh isn't going to care where he plays as long as it is with Lebron. -
BR1986FBThe Bosh rumor has been going on for while now. Bucher reported it earlier in the week.

Agree with this. The "I won't play in Cleveland" stuff on Bosh is a bunch of bullshit and wishful thinking for some. If LBJ stays I'm sure Bosh won't care. -

I dont agree with either of these points. I think if the Cavs put together a package of Mo, Antawn, JJ and possibly another filler this deal could work. Cavs might have to take on Hedo or Calderon but I def think it could be done. I'm not saying its going to happen but its a possibility. If the Cavs manage to get back into the first round of the draft by Thursday night they could use a pick as well. -
2quik4uToronto wants a center, the cav's have jack shit to offer. Why would Toronto want to take on Jamison's contract?

So they are going to sit Andrea Bargnani? Guy put up like 18 and 8 a game last year. You would think they would be pretty happy with that. Substitute Jamison for Varejo.......I'm just throwing out examples -
2quik4uBargnani will get moved to the 4
-
OneBuckeyeGive me Collison and/or Okafor and/or West. I do not want Bosh for some reason.

Is this just your opinion? I havent heard anything of the Raptors plans to move him to the 4. -

Why don't people understand that what Toronto wants doesn't really matter?
Bosh can tell them I want to be traded to Cleveland or I walk and you get nothing for me.
Cleveland can offer JJ, Antawn, Delonte, Mo (Toronto is in love with Mo and JJ) and offer to take back Bosh and Calderon. -
thedynasty1998Can you post a link that says Toronto is in love with Mo and JJ?

Letting a player go is often better than taking on bad contracts in return. Besides, if they were desperate enough for a player they could always the Lakers and take Bynum for him in return which would be superior to Hickson/Andy or any of the other trash some of you think they are going to want in return for someone like Chris Bosh. Why don't people understand that what Toronto wants doesn't really matter? -
KR1245One mans opinion on the Bosh rumors....

One highlight from the article I found interesting
"The Cavs happen to have a very attractive package to entice the Raptors with. They could package up Mo Williams, Antawn Jamison, and J.J. Hickson for Jose Calderon and Chris Bosh, which would be a hard deal for anyone else in the league to top -
BR1986FBthedynasty1998;395639 wrote:Can you post a link that says Toronto is in love with Mo and JJ?
No link. Bosh said it right after he said Cleveland was not on his short list of teams to play for....haha -
thedynasty1998Well done. Well done.
Although there were links supporting that Bosh said that. -
hoops23thedynasty1998;395639 wrote:Can you post a link that says Toronto is in love with Mo and JJ?
Toronto wants Mo, they were one of the teams on the phone for him when Cleveland was seeing his worth.
They've also expressed interest in JJ, as have a lot of other teams. He's got a ton of potential, it's not that hard to fathom. I don't post shit just to post it. If I hear something on the radio or see it being reported, I'll post it. -
Trueblue23I'm glad people think Cleveland's package for Bosh is the best in the league. I want no part of a Bynum/Bosh swap.

Why not? Just curious.
Bosh is a far better player than Bynum, BUT Bynum is a better fit (when healthy) for the Lakers than Bosh would be.
So I agree with you. Just wondering if it's for the same reason.
