It's not worth it this season. Bradford is the only QB worth doing it for. I do think his time is limited in Pittsburgh, but they aren't going to ship him off on a whim unless they can get a proven QB in return or there is someone spectacular ready to step in available in the draft. With how hard it is to get a GOOD QB in this league, it won't happen, and it would be a bad move at this point.Non wrote:LJ wrote:

He made remarkable strides from the Senior Bowl to his Pro Day since tweaking his mechanics and experimenting with the higher release point. I think his athletic ability and survival instincts are on par with Ben when he came into the league. He'll be able to make plays and win games -- with a good team around him -- until the passing improves.
I usually really respect your opinion, but I can't disagree and laugh at this one any more than I am right now.
No man, shit, no....
I don't see what the big joke is.
You wouldn't be specifically doing that.
You have a QB with serious issues that is tarnishing the reputation of your franchise. At some point I don't think it's even worth winning again with this guy leading the team. At the rate he's going he could end up in prison in another year or two.
I've been a big fan and I know it would be hard to accept, given the success and two Super Bowls, but I think the ship has sunk.
You're not going to trade him for one player but if you can get a package of picks then you would obviously take another QB to go along with Dixon and then another player high in the draft. -

I think Bradford is overrated. He played in the wide open Big 12 and barely got touched. The few times he got hit he was knocked out. One game against Baltimore or the Jets or the tough teams the Steelers have to face and that will be it for Bradford. I'd rather they do their own homework and take the player that they like best, not what the others say. Personally, I think it would be Tebow for many of the reasons I mentioned above. Back in December I wasn't quite sure about him but I like what he's shown, particularly the work ethic and obvious improvements to his footwork, release and so forth, in the past few months.
You're right, though, that they will not be a Super Bowl contender without Roethlisberger next season. If Dixon, Batch, Tebow or Bradford is the QB, they won't have a chance.
If that's still their goal then Roethlisberger has to get through these troubles and the likely suspension and get back in the lineup. They already hurt themselves for 2010, though, by getting rid of Holmes. So they already sent that message that it's not as important as cleaning up their image. -
LJGetting rid of Roethlishberger without a true sucession plan will set them back the furthest. Tim Tebow will be nothing better than :"somewhat decent". He is not a Roethlisberger replacement and should not be looked at as such. He played in a spread offense and never played under center. He will turn out to be the next Vince Young, and while I hate this saying, you can take that to the bank.
-
Pick6WHats wrong with Vince Young? He has a pretty good record as a starter.

BR1986FBRachel Nichols reported via Twitter that Roethlisberger showed up at the league offices sporting a not so trailer park-like hair cut. In other words, he was smart and got it somewhat buzzed.

thavoiceyeah....he def wasnt lookn real "kept" yestrday.
Wonder if Goodall brought up the latest info of another chick -
killer_ewokI find it amazing that someone would imply that the Rooneys, of all people, are racist. They have went out of their way for minorities to get more opportunities. Sure, both Ben and Santonio have fucked up multiple times. As dumb as Ben is though.....he isn't fucking stupid enough to tweet about it, call out the fans on Twitter, encourage someone on Twitter to kill themself. Ben has never been arrested, Santonio has. Also, their positions are different (great QB's are harder to find than great WR's) and their contracts are different (Ben still under contract for 5 years, Santonio only for 1 more year). But yeah, just look at skin color and imply that is the reason.
Typical race card bullshit. -

Vince Young is actually a good example for Tebow.LJ wrote: Getting rid of Roethlishberger without a true sucession plan will set them back the furthest. The Titans clearly can be a playoff contending team with Young at QB and more of a running offense. That's more like how the Steelers used to be until the past few years with Arians. Tebow can be every bit as successful in the NFL as Vince Young.
If the Steelers traded Roethlisberger for a couple draft picks, Dennis Dixon would still be the starter next season. But they would likely take another QB. Maybe not in the first round but in the second or third to add to the mix. It's not how you're saying. They wouldn't replace Ben with a rookie in 2010.
I certainly thought they had a chance to bounce back next season and contend again but I'm not sure that's going to happen now anyway.
They traded Holmes with only the intention of trying to reclaim their image. You can applaud that but it was stupid what they got in return from the football side of it. Holmes had a good rapport with Ben. He caught a lot of quick slants and hot reads and then made a lot of big plays, too. I don't think they'll be able to replace him this upcoming season.
If they were that focused on winning next season they shouldn't have made a knee-jerk decision with the Holmes trade. And if they're that focused on reclaiming their image then what's the point of kinda doing that but not really. Ben is a big part of their image problem. -

I was at the bar watching him on Sportscenter last night and said, "He looks like he should be sitting at the bar next to us right now."BR1986FB wrote: Rachel Nichols reported via Twitter that Roethlisberger showed up at the league offices sporting a not so trailer park-like hair cut. The dude looked like shit. -
NonI thought the Bradshaw comments were outstanding.
Bradshaw can be a clown when he speaks but he was being sincere I can tell. -
september63Jim Rome says this. "Dont look for Big Ben to be invited to appear on, Are you smarter than a 5th grader". "They dont invite ppl to that show when they already know the answer." LOL

Strapping Young Lad^^^haha. He was smart enough to pick a chick that was nearly black out drunk to assault though. And smart enough to have just enough fun to leave evidence that he did some bad things, but not so much evidence as to be able to convict.
After hearing the DA's statement, he knows damn well Roethlisberger did some fu@%ed up shit to this drunk girl and wanted to leave no doubt what kind of POS Ben is. There was just not enough to charge him LEGALLY, but by the statement he wanted to be sure Ben would be convicted in the court of public opinion.
This bum is guilty of more than just being stupid and they wanted to make sure everyone understands that..... -
Al CaponeLets not forget that the DA's office is up for election this year. His press conference was nothing more then a campaign speech to the inbreds in georgia who'll be voting at the polls.
Also, Bradshaw was right on with his comments. -
Strapping Young LadHehe, It's almost like some kind of twisted karma to see your Shitzburg Squeelers surpass the Bennies for 'most heinous team of despicable individuals'.....

I'm hearing that the guy with the 3rd incident claim was just looking for his time in the spotlight. Just coming from a national forum.BR1986FB wrote:

NonUsually when Bradshaw speaks it's kind of half-joking but I could tell he was trying to give Ben some true worldly advice. He played it off saying "Ben won't listen to me" but Ben should listen.

BR1986FBRoethlisberger to the Rams for the #1 pick? Take it easy, Yinzers....the rumors are already starting to fly.

That will NEVER happen. The amount a of cash a #1 pick is guaranteed nowadays is insane. No way would the Rooney's pony up the cash for that. Honestly I don't think there is anyone in the draft this year that would truly warrant a #1 pick anyway.BR1986FB wrote: Roethlisberger to the Rams for the #1 pick? Capone, what would be your excuse for that? -
Al CaponeSeems to me that you clown fans all of a sudden are more worried about what the Steelers are doing, rather then paying attention to your own worthless organization. Getting nervous about your bet durkieboy? hahaha
Believe me, the Steelers will be just fine.
