I like that his excuse for sabotaging the bus and revealing himself was because they were getting close to DC........they haven't even left GA yet!!!!!!!!!!!gut;1673360 wrote:The show has REALLY struggled with linear plots - the acting and writing generally isn't good enough to be compelling. Not that separating plots into separate episodes works all that well, but it's a less is more kind of thing.
I think the hospital crew is interesting. Beth is an uninteresting, kind of irritating character (like the one sniper started out as). Sgt Slaughter and the "scientist" are such cartoonish characters they're just painful to watch. That's been the real shortcoming of the last two episodes.
Can't believe how quick they revealed the scientist was a fraud. He sabotages the bus, then does the reveal all in one episode. That's what I mean by liking the pace - maybe just a low bar because of they're past tendency to draw out trivial BS for weeks. -
Scarlet_BuckeyeIMO, this show has hit the The Office / It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia plateau. By that, I mean... It's still a good show; yeah it's not as great as it first was when it was a cult-classic and the masses didn't know about it... But now that it's reached such a mainstream hype, the cool thing to do now is talk about how awful the show is now or how not entertaining it is anymore.
When in reality, it's probably somewhere in the middle. Yeah it's not on the level it was with the 1st season, the farm season, or the town/Governor season... but it's still a pretty damn good show, it's still one of the better/best shows on television, and it's still entertaining.
People just need to stop whining. -

Disagree. You had two semi-slow character/back story episodes after three great episodes. It's not like they don't already have the material from the comics to base it off of, so there is progress and an endgame. I think it could remain solid until the end like Breaking Bad and not veer off like Lost.Scarlet_Buckeye;1673681 wrote:IMO, this show has hit the The Office / It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia plateau. ernest_t_bassI'm fine with the side stories... I'm NOT fine with wasting entire episodes on the side stories.

Again... I think the 'fashionable'/'cool' thing has become to rip unfairly on The Walking Dead. I think your statement actually supports this. It's still a pretty good show (even you said "three great episodes"), but yet people are still whining & complaining about 'it's slow' or 'the characters/plot is stale', etc.Sonofanump;1673698 wrote:Disagree. bigdaddy2003I don't rip on it because it's cool or fashionable. I complained about the hospital episode because it was boring as hell. The season started out great and has declined since. Just my opinion.

That's pretty much been every season since the zombie coolness factor wore-off about 6 episodes into Season 1 - a couple good episodes or handful of scenes sandwiched by some less-than-well-written filler or "character" development.bigdaddy2003;1673735 wrote:I don't rip on it because it's cool or fashionable. But I think this season has been the best since the first half of Season 1. I didn't have much problems with the last two episodes. FAR superior to watching Rick plant crops and raise hogs for like 3 shows. -
Laley23Why are people complaining?
This has been one of the worst written and played out shows on TV since the end of S1. The Farm Season, honestly, should have killed the series. But, zombie apacolpse is an unkillable monster.
Its unfortunate, the series has amazing spurts. But for the lost part, it's the slowest, most boring plot in TV. They get NOWHERE...ever. People love it and it sets ratings records because zombies die each episode...bug honestly, we wasted an hour to find out what we all speculated. Dudes a fraud. S2 was an entire season wasted with what we
all speculated. Carl would leave the house every time...oh and Sophia was a zombie lol. -
Glory Daysfucking carl.............I think it would be nice to at least get a little tease on what is going on outside their little bubble. maybe a random group of travelers they don't have to kill comes along from another major city and has news etc. it would be cool to know there is something bigger than their little bubble.

YtowngirlinflaReally good episode tonight. Can't believe there are only 2 left for this half of the season. I do like the Carol and Darryl story line.
-
Glory Days
Really? they filled in a few gaps we already figured out on our own. flashbacked to things we already knew about carol from watching the show for the past 2 years. now rick and crew will go try and rescue carol. it wont happen this season though, that would be too quick. there will be a minor confrontation during the last episode that will leave us hanging until the next half season, which the finale of the season will be a battle between rick and the hospital crew.Ytowngirlinfla;1675127 wrote:Really good episode tonight. and nice job getting hit by a car....when its the only car on the road in world that is void of all mechanical noises. -

I know they were looking for the kid, but she just happens to get hit by the people...in, as you said, with no cars or noises around.Glory Days;1675215 wrote: and nice job getting hit by a car....when its the only car on the road in world that is void of all mechanical noises.
Given how valuable transportation is, everyone seems to drive pretty recklessly. Don't really even try to avoid the zombies.
I also liked how they had a perfectly clear view of the guys in the car ahead, but he can't see them sitting in the car even while he's wondering why that zombie has so much interest in it. Must have had tinted windows -

Why do you even watch the show? All you do is bitch about ridiculous things each week.Glory Days;1675215 wrote:Really? they filled in a few gaps we already figured out on our own. flashbacked to things we already knew about carol from watching the show for the past 2 years. now rick and crew will go try and rescue carol. it wont happen this season though, that would be too quick. there will be a minor confrontation during the last episode that will leave us hanging until the next half season, which the finale of the season will be a battle between rick and the hospital crew.

ernest_t_bassGood episode. Moving so fucking slow, though. The plot in tonight's episode could have been done in 15 minutes.

SnotBubblesI'm starting to complain more and more...but I think there is good reason behind it; it's getting worse and worse. I seriously am considering giving up on it. It's hard to do, because I know the potential is there and how great it was for 3 seasons. I'll probably stick this season out and make a call from there whether I continue to watch.
The bull shit part is that they built up our expectations so high this season; talking about how they were going back to their roots, it was going to be so much more intense, etc. Well, the last 3 episodes have been so far from the shows roots and non-intense that it makes the entire thing more disappointing.
Next week's episode doesn't look too much more promising. -
SonofanumpCount me in as liking the episode. I like the flashbacks, done much better than the last two episodes. Good pace and two good characters.

You watched Season 2 right??SnotBubbles;1675262 wrote:I'm starting to complain more and more...but I think there is good reason behind it; it's getting worse and worse. Again, aside from S1, when they had better writers, this IS par for the Walking Dead. -

I took it as they hit her intentionally.Glory Days;1675215 wrote:and nice job getting hit by a car....when its the only car on the road in world that is void of all mechanical noises. -

Oh, I did too, but you'd think that you would hear it since no other noise really exist outside of the moans of walkers.Scarlet_Buckeye;1675479 wrote:I took it as they hit her intentionally. -

Probably when you are not paying attention you'd be oblivious to a car coming but they must have heard the shots and knew which building they were at.Sonofanump;1675491 wrote:Oh, I did too, but you'd think that you would hear it since no other noise really exist outside of the moans of walkers. -

I also just checked, its been about 515 days since the outbreak....this show has been on for 4 years now(2010). no wonder why its crawling along. -

yeah its not like it was a Prius running silent on battery power.Sonofanump;1675491 wrote:Oh, I did too, but you'd think that you would hear it since no other noise really exist outside of the moans of walkers. -
YtowngirlinflaAnother good episode last night. I have a bad feeling Carol is gonna die.

Disagree. What a waste of an hour of my life... get on with it already.Ytowngirlinfla;1677677 wrote:Another good episode last night. I have a bad feeling Carol is gonna die.
