Breaking Bad: Final Season Discussion

No, Walt had chosen to die in that cabin. It was his prison - that was made abundantly clear. They literally needed to tell you about the money and remind you about providing for his family so you could understand why he leaves and takes the risk of calling Walt Jr.

You're fighting a battle you can't win. I mean, you can "win", but you'll never prove it to him.

Same! Better writing will help that awful show...no wonder no one watches and it never appears on award shows

They didn't need to tell me (and I am guessing a large portion of other viewers) anything. He could have looked at the barrel of money and had that "a-ha" moment without the prior conversation with Saul's guy. I mean, that is the entire premise of the show; Walt wanted to earn money to take care of his family. I highly doubt anyone would have found it weird or unusual for him to try one last time (or again and again until the very end of the series) to get that money to them.

That said, I also don't see the problem with hammering it home that he did all of these terrible things so that he could provide for Skyler, Jr. and Holly, but now he could potentially die alone and they will never see any of it. That's the entire point.

When some SEC school announces they will have a course based on the struggle between good and evil on Breaking Bad...and they will you can bank on it. When that happens they will not be calling you to be a guest speaker Gut for one significant reason...

and that reason is? You're a moron.

Kind of a reach the way they had to shift focus to Todd's gang suddenly to set-up this dramatic finale confrontation - it's been predictable while testing credulity at the same time.

Just as an example...I kind of get, as a device for character development/insight, why Walt asks that guy if he would give the money to his family. But Walt's never been that stupid. Even desperate and hopeless, it's still inconceivable that Walt would ever ask that question.

Watching the Breaking Bad cast on Conan. It just shows how amazing an actor Cranston is, doesn't seem capable of playing a Walter White character.

Yes. Discussing one television show clearly means we live in front of our televisions. One hour a week for 8 weeks. No time for anything else.

That totals up to 8 hours, so that is a waste of time, mofo.

just saw this weeks episode...i also was underwhelmed i was hoping for a little more to happen so they dont have to rush and wrap up everything in one last episode...but i guess that is going to make this last episode pretty epic

Just watched and completely agree. That was the worst episode of the season, if not the series. It seemed disjointed and completely out of the blue.

It was a terrible episode. Thanks for hat tip though. The entire time I watched it, there was this weird feeling that someone else was directing and acting in it. Bryan Cranston is awesome but the first 30 minutes was pure junk and filler.

No, I just call out crap when I see crap.

    That episode was horrible.

I'm a fan of the show, I think it is one of the 10 best shows I've ever seen, but I call out a turd when it is a turd.

That episode was turd. Do you want me to go into detail?

    I enjoyed Breaking Bad once.

It's official - I will never understand people. Not every single episode can be "Ozymandias". The last episode was written by someone who has been with the show the entire time, and he has also directed an episode in the past. I think he knows a lot more about the characters and what is right for the show than any of the viewers do.

Read these articles featuring him and tell me it all doesn't make sense. Critics aren't always right, and actors/writers/directors get it wrong a lot, too. But not on Breaking Bad. I am not sure how you can watch "Granite State" and say it wasn't good or that it didn't fit with the show.
