Can't say I disagree. WMD isn't a term you just throw around because you are pissed and emotional about what happened. Like ptown said, do you do this when someone uses a pipe bomb? There has to be a line somewhere.FatHobbit;1431929 wrote:I think he is just being technical. Although I'm not sure I like them expanding the definition of WMD's. -

In that case, if it fits the definition, by all means. My only point above was to not change the definition because of emotion. That never ends well.GoChiefs;1431933 wrote:Technically, that is not all a WMD can be labeled as.

Let's just call the bombing what it was, a bomb. It wasn't a WMD in the classic sense, it was a bomb.
The dude should be locked up and then sent to death, and he will, but I'm not a fan of expanding the usage of WMD.
That language should be reversed for the worst of the worst weapons. Sorry for my narrow application of the word.
Agree with all of this. I definitely did a double take when I saw it on the news.WebFire;1431941 wrote:Can't say I disagree. Charged with conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction.
So Bush was right the whole time, when he said Iraq had WMD's. I knew it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If Obama administration can call an IED a WMD, then Bush should be able to also. -

The nice thing about conspiracy theories is they require almost no logic in explaining away any fact.WebFire;1432161 wrote:Can't wait to hear what his aunt has to say. -

Could they not see that coming? Did they actually expect a bunch of amateur detectives WOULDN'T result in at least 1 person being falsely accused all over the internetz?vball10set;1432163 wrote:Did they really have a choice?
In their defense, if you are a conspiracy whacko the idea of that guy getting "activated" in the middle of the night a month ago with a phone call or whatever, and just dropping everything and walking out = totally plausible. -

I mean, I was critical of them when the events were unfolding, but I havent heard of the NY Post, CNN, etc owning up.vball10set;1432163 wrote:Did they really have a choice? -

Of course, he very conveniently ignores the most significant fact - multiple civilian witnesses saw these guys throwing bombs at police, and they admitted to being the Boston bombers. But never let the facts get in the way of a good conspiracy theory.Crimson streak;1432211 wrote:http://imgur.com/a/Nx8EU

Maybe Alex Jones will jump on the movie while Michael Moore is trying to figure out how he can link Bush and the Neocons. -

Most of that shit is downright stupid. The only one that makes you pause is the post with the prediction.Crimson streak;1432211 wrote:http://imgur.com/a/Nx8EU

A lucky guess? I thought they would be identified within 48 hours. It took one more day. If they had gone into hiding, good luck guessing when they'd be found. If not, your choices of predicting a "raid" were probably Thurs, Fri and possibly Sat. The rest was sufficiently vague to go back ex-post and match "evidence" with "predictions".WebFire;1432231 wrote:The only one that makes you pause is the post with the prediction. -

If you do classify homemade bombs as such, then Shawn used a WMD to blow up a mailbox in episode 17 of Boy Meets World. Boss.WebFire;1431941 wrote:Can't say I disagree. Interesting twist to the story that I must have missed..Mulva;1432308 wrote:Did they ever release who the naked guy supposedly was? -

I'm not sure twist is the word, just a little surprising that it was never really given more attention (that I heard) than sort of a "by the way, this happened" courtesy. Also a little surprised that the guy hasn't made more of an outcry over the whole publicly stripped and interrogated thing.reclegend22;1432317 wrote:Interesting twist to the story that I must have missed.. -
reclegend22Ah. Just flipped through the website above and saw the photograph of the naked man being arrested. Being arrested in the nude on national television as a terrorist suspect will be a difficult situation to explain at the next job interview.

That's pretty much what I figure as well. Take a stab at it, and you have a decent chance of nailing it. If you don't, nobody remembers it. If you do...gut;1432240 wrote:A lucky guess? Why are the other two men in backpacks standing in the area of attack, one of which appears to have a backpack that looks very similar to one of the bags that is believed to have housed explosives, not cause for a pause? I don't subscribe to conspiracies for the most part, but the photographs of those men -- as long as they are of valid origin and not doctored in anyway -- certainly make it look as if perhaps they had at least some form of involvement. Then again, I do not remember why those two men were cleared as suspects, so perhaps I missed something.WebFire;1432231 wrote:Most of that **** is downright stupid. There is no way the Tsarneav's acted alone. Either they had help here in the States, or the older brother was trained abroad and came back to plant those ideas into his younger brother's head. They had too many weapons, knew too much about bomb making and it just doesn't make sense. -

Perhaps it's because the FBI examined far more photos than were available to people on Reddit and realized that those two guys never actually dropped their backpacks.reclegend22;1432412 wrote:Why are the other two men in backpacks standing in the area of attack, one of which appears to have a backpack that looks very similar to one of the bags that is believed to have housed explosives, not cause for a pause? Sure the photo can give you pause. But it's also one photo out of the thousands and thousands that the FBI reviewed (in addition to video footage). I'm sure if there was suspicion around those two, we would have been hearing about Suspects #1-4 instead of just Suspects #1 and #2. -
WebFireDo you realize how many people have backpacks at a marathon?
