Or if you want to talk about searches for the DC sniper, or even escaped convicts...much larger areas and far, far fewer people out looking.
Dynamics are not even close to the same. And how long did it take to find the DC sniper?

How is this even news? I hate the media sometimes. Basically they're saying that they didn't have license to carry their handguns. Here's a shocker, criminals who blow places/people up aren't going to go and register for a gun. Did they register for a license to make bombs? A license to kill? The media and gov. trying to push their agendas any chance they get. On the flip side, if they HAD been registered to carry, I'm betting the headline would have been "Gun loving NRA members go crazy and on a rampage!" Idiots.
If anything, it strengthens the argument on the pro-gun side, that no laws will stop criminals from getting guns.

I believe it was around 20 days.

DC-metro is 5,500 square miles and 5.7 million people.

I followed the news and the police scanner all day Friday, but attended a wedding that evening so I missed most of the action. We were all very glad to hear they found him and that he was alive. We had a toast for the bride and groom and a toast to Boston/'Merica, though the 2nd one was mostly just the drunkest people who were out on the dance floor.

I actually told several of my friends on the way to the church that my guess was he had found a little hiding spot and had fallen asleep after being awake for who knows how long. I wasn't too far off.

Shouldn't have taken anytime at all if they weren't supposed to search any of them. Right?

White House says he will not be charged as an enemy combatant.

Charged with conspiracy to use a weapon of mass destruction.

Glenn Beck releases some info on the Saudi that was deported. Check this out...
Sources say the Saudi’s student visa specifically allows him to go to school in Findlay, Ohio, though he appears to have an apartment in Boston, Massachusetts
My alma mater might be famous for something!

It's too bad there isn't a law that makes this illegal. Oh, wait a minute...

I assume that sort of thing happens A LOT with illegals disappearing after their visa is up. Well, it's estimated 300k people overstay their visa every year, not sure how many of those disappear.

Sorry if this has already been posted, just saw tamerlan is being looked into for an unsolved triple homicide in Waltham from 2011 involving one of his former boxing sparring partners.

I read in between the lines in an article the other day how mysterious those 3 deaths were (it wasn't a main part of the article) and while the article wasn't trying to implicate him, the inference was definitely there to be had.

It might have been nice if the Boston PD would have looked into him more closely at the time. If they end up piecing that case together quickly and pin him for it, then that will raise some questions as to why he wasn't questioned in 2011, especially considering that he was a former FBI target for possible terrorism and his sparring partner ends up dead in a triple homicide. Sounds like someone you might look into.

4 is a little thin. 8 is better and even the minimum for some agencies, especially when dealing with someone as willing to die as this guy was. and dont forget, there is rest time, officers setting boundries and perimeters that arent doing any searching.

There's a video where they evacuated a house and searched all, like 12, people in it. Took 6 minutes. Looks to be about a team of 8. Every pic I've seen from the whole thing is handfuls of officers standing around picking their nose. But that is beside the point.

The simple fact remains, manhunt/missing person/escaped convict or whatever, they had it pinpointed to a relatively tiny location. That's why the lockdown and search were even feasible in the first place.

So the older brother ran at the cops in a suicidal raid; so that the younger brother could get away?

I get trying them for exploding a bomb, but really a WMD?
So, pressure cooker bombs are WMDs?
That is some blurring lines there on what else could be WMDs.
Could a grenade be a WMD? Or, how about a pipe bomb too?

Let's leave WMDs to the three classes: Chemical, Bio, and Nuclear.

Seriously? Why don't you go join their fucking bandwagon while you're at it.

Isn't a WMD a weapon of mass destruction? Dropping a fucking bomb in a crowded group of people isn't a weapon of mass destruction?

I get these guys didn't shoot a nuke at Watertown, MA. But to be upset they are being charged with WMD's? GTFOOHWTS!

a weapon that kills or injures civilian as well as military personnel(nuclear and chemical and biological
    weapons)

    I
think Ptown is using the traditional definition of weapon of mass destruction.

Who cares though? Lol he's almost upset that they are being charged w/ WMD's. It's like the idiots who are mad he wasn't read his miranda rights. Who gives a fuck????

I think he is just being technical. Although I'm not sure I like them expanding the definition of WMD's.

Correct, legally and traditionally, a WMD is a chemical, bio, or nuclear weapon.
Let's just call the bombing what it was, a bomb. It wasn't a WMD in the classic sense, it was a bomb.

The dude should be locked up and then sent to death, and he will, but I'm not a fan of expanding the usage of WMD.
That language should be reversed for the worst of the worst weapons. Sorry for my narrow application of the word.

Technically, that is not all a WMD can be labeled as.
