Of course you don't believe in it. You change your beliefs on a whim when you are backed into a corner. It's not an "a la carte" approach to religion like you want to make it seem. Every time we bring up a logical argument, you then claim not to believe in that piece of religion.pmoney25;1151570 wrote:I was a moral person when I was an atheist. And I dont believe in a "plan". Your assumption I only act this way because im told to.
Like I said, rational debate is impossible when the rules are always changing. -

So you don't believe god has a plan then? you just think "i think jesus exists so i can spend my after life with his dad"Con_Alma;1151573 wrote:Not only can I choose but I am not aware of this plan you speak of. -

Didn't we establish a long time ago that faith isn't based on rational and logic?sleeper;1151578 wrote:...

That hasn't changed. -

Yes you do. You vote right? If you vote for politicians who want to ban abortion, prevent gays from marrying, prevent medical research via stem cells, keep churches from paying taxes, etc., then you are influencing my life with your irrelevant and erroneous beliefs.Con_Alma;1151572 wrote:Sin is the thoughts and actions that separate you from God. You nor I have no ability to avoid it.
Since you will never have religion in your life you don''t have to worry about me putting in your life. IMy comment was a response to your request fro me to keep it out of your life. I have nothing to do with it.
And sin has never been proven. There is nothing to avoid. Literally. -

With who? You are aware there a 1000 religions that we know about. There are many Hims, and even some Hers.Con_Alma;1151576 wrote:I disagree. If you don't want eternal life with Him, you won't' have it. -

Yes. You have admitted as such. I don't see how faith is a good thing, or why faith is enough to justify a life changing decision, or why God has to depend on "faith" to get people to believe in him.Con_Alma;1151580 wrote:Didn't we establish a long time ago that faith isn't based on rational and logic?

It's a crock of shit and very cult like. Faith is BS. -

People can be opposed to abortion and not be religious, People can desire a certain societal culture and be working towards it without being religious. Making such a decisions politically in man's government doesn't mean religion is being forced upon you but rather the decisions of thre collective people are.sleeper;1151583 wrote:Yes you do. Sin doesn't have to be proven to exist. Many things existed before they were proven to have been. -

It's very clear to all who read this that you don't see how it's a good thing. That's never, ever been disputed.sleeper;1151585 wrote:Yes. You have admitted as such. Religions push those regressive policies more than anyone. Just because someone may not be religious, but want to influence government with their own personal beliefs, doesn't make the aggregate not a regressive religious agenda.Con_Alma;1151586 wrote:People can be opposed to abortion and not be religious, People can desire a certain societal culture and be working towards it without being religious. So if you get to Heaven and Lord Xenu presents himself...? Will your life have been a waste believing in the "wrong" one?Con_Alma;1151589 wrote:With the triune God.

Nor does it make it solely a religious agenda. It does, if passed make it a collective decision moved byt that respective majority at the time.sleeper;1151590 wrote:Religions push those regressive policies more than anyone. Yes wasted. Lord Xenu won't be very happy you worshiped someone else, you'll probably spend eternity in a nuclear volcano. That sucks.Con_Alma;1151595 wrote:Wasted? Not in my eyes, just inaccurate in it's premise. -

That would suck but it still wouldn't be a waste to me. IN your view it is...but then again you weren't asking yourself for you already knew your own opinion on the question. You were asking me. I don't think it would be a waste at all for I would have been able to do what I wanted with my life's eternal decision.sleeper;1151601 wrote:Yes wasted. Well of course it wouldn't be a waste; you're dead. Even if tomorrow, irrefutable evidence disproving God and his existence and Christianity all came out, you'd still believe.Con_Alma;1151604 wrote:That would suck but it still wouldn't be a waste to me. Admitting it was all a lie, would be equivalent to saying your life was based on a fraud. That goes against human nature, and is the ultimate trap the religious institutions want. -

Until then, my faith stand firm in our Creator and even if I am wrong my life is wasted because I gop to choose how to spend it. -

Exactly. But you acquired your faith and decided to follow Jesus by reading the scripture and Holy Spirit and what not. Pretty funny.Con_Alma;1151622 wrote:I have no problem admitting my faith was inaccurate irrefutable evidence disproving God and his existence comes out tomorrow. I'll concede it's funny to you. I think we all knew that already.sleeper;1151625 wrote:Exactly. But you acquired your faith and decided to follow Jesus by reading the scripture and Holy Spirit and what not. Pretty funny.
My eternal decisions are not based on whether others think its "funny" or not. They are based on what I believe and have faith in. -
Y-Town SteelhoundSleeper's point is a big reason why I adopt the "don't know, won't know, don't care" philosophy as opposed to "believe in God in case he exists" philosophy. This way when I die it doesn't matter if it's God, Jehovah, Jesus, Allah, Sheeva, Xenu, Flying Spaghetti Monster, Zeus, Unknown Deity X, Liam Neeson or whoever else is the creator/manager of the universe waiting to greet me I'll be screwed all the same. At least I won't break the "don't worship any other gods" commandment.

And you can explain simply "not enough evidence God" or "You didn't try hard enough on me God". It's EZ.Y-Town Steelhound;1151643 wrote:Sleeper's point is a big reason why I adopt the "don't know, won't know, don't care" philosophy as opposed to "believe in God in case he exists" philosophy.
