What? Te last thing I want is something to control my life. I make things ok in the end and I do that by choosing to accept Christ. Someone or something else doesn't control my life.

This decisions doesn't come from weakness but desire.
God mostly certainly controls your life. Go lie to your parents, can't. Talk about another god, can't. You have rules to follow by, rules in which you don't follow you will not get rewarded.

It also means when something bad happens, you have a blanket of comfort that it was part of God's plan, so God knows what he is doing. It's a way to cope with life's ups and downs. It's akin to telling your kids cancer is Captain Hook inside you and Peter Pan will come rescue you! It's a lie, but it will give your kid a delusional view to help them cope.

Go ahead and ruin the intellectual integrity of your own kin, but keep it out of the government and keep it out of my life.

If you accept him, then you are part of God's plan. If there is a plan, you don't have control over your life.

    Not a difficult concept.

The number is closer to 16,000. 2 of each "kind" were taken not every single animal.

lol ok - What's the point of accepting jesus or religion is you don't live your life by his teachings. You clearly don't accept it if it has no influence over you.

You are part of God's plan whether you accept him or not.

lol why because the bible says so? You can't quote a book as truth not everyone believe in.

Influence and control are 2 different things and is why I asked for a definition of control and probably why you wouldn't give one.

    Right. LOL

I'd still love to see how you can have 32,000 animals on a boat for 40 days and not have this documented in any other book besides the Bible. There's no evidence of a global flood, and there never will be.

    Enjoy!

lol lets see how we can twist the definition of words to make our argument seem less ridiculous than it already is

So none of us have a choice. Free will is irrelevant.

    Not a difficult concept.

God has a plan for you? he controls your life. He influences your decisions because of his plan - YOUR life is already written out for you and nothing you do is your own free will

16,000 animals on a boat for 40 days on a global flood that never happened. No other book besides the Bible has documented this event. There's no evidence of a flood and there never will be.

He gives you the tools to make wise choices. He knows how you are going to choose but in no way does he make you choose a certain way or choose for you. You may not agree with it but many do. Choose for yourself who you will serve and follow.

This thread is exhibit A why I don't engage in rational discussion with believers. People get pissed at me for degrading religion, but that's what I've found more effective.

You can't fix stupid, but you can call them frauds, and you can take that to the bank.

not choosing for yourself - nice contradiction. If you're serving and following, you're not a leading making your own choices.

Not a contradiction at all. I choose to follow Jesus, you choose to not follow Jesus. Both are our own choices.

Derrp - except you follow, serve, and have a plan set out for you - I don't because i have free will to do what i want.

"to exercise restraint or direction over; dominate; command."

Why don't you want to admit that you are controlled by your religion? Aren't you supposed to be a servant, as in, you do what God/Jesus/Whoever says? That is called control.

    Oh really?

So that means all the atheistic and agnostic arguments have nothing to stand on. Dawkins' words mean nothing. Scientists have no authority either. Not everyone believes in them, so there is no credibility.

Thanks for clearing that up!
