Believers do the same thing. They just don't have a logical leg or a brain to stand on so they end up just being backed into corner by arguments they can't solve with anything other than "I have the right to believe what I want to believe" like its something the atheist is completely unaware of.Skyhook79;1141113 wrote:It also amuses me that ,some not all ,atheists, agnostic's always like to put down and say nasty things about those who do believe something different than them. -

Actually, China is one of the places where they are seeing higher numbers in professing Christians.I Wear Pants;1141112 wrote:Yeah, I bet what little that I have that if you were born in China or India or Iran you wouldn't be a Christian. So the idea that being a Christian is required for a non-tortuous afterlife pretty much invalidates the idea of a just/loving god.
And if being a Christian isn't required then why bother, just be a good dude. -

And then you have this cop out right here. Thank the Lord that we have people who don't believe in the shit in the bible otherwise we'd never cure any diseases and we'd live in a bubble full of ignorance(world is flat, flood took place, earth is 6500 years old, prayers instead of vaccines, etc).hoops23;1141117 wrote:Atheists are just as bad as bible thumpers.
Keep being delusional and let the atheists fix all of our problems. -

The poor and stupid are easily hoodwinked into religious beliefs. It's make their meaningless lives feel important because their life here is just a test to get to the afterlife. When you have nothing else to look forward, remember an invisible made up man in the sky loves you no matter what and has a plan for you. So delusional, and outright fraudulent.OSH;1141122 wrote:Actually, China is one of the places where they are seeing higher numbers in professing Christians. -

Exhibit A.
Not real sure what you're trying to say here. Are you saying believers of god wouldn't create cures for diseases or figure out that the world is round?
I'm not a big religious buff, nor do I go around toting that people who are religious are fools. I'm also willing to bet a great # of Dr's, scientists, etc, are religious, yet still do their job professionally.
Your statement I quoted is pure ignorance. Medicine has been in practice since the beginning of mankind, whether herbal or alternative. I think believers use prayer to coincide with medical attention, not as a sole replacement. -

No they wouldn't. Remember, god knows all and god says the Earth is flat. God heals the sick, no need for medicine just pray. Oh, you got medicine? You're messing with God's plan.hoops23;1141128 wrote:Exhibit A.

A lot of scientists are RINO, because they know there is a negative stereotype against atheists and its hard for atheists to come out of the closet so to speak for fear of unnecessary backlash. Like I said, if you believe in any religion, you're delusional, seek help. -

sleeperThe fact that there are 1000's and 1000's of religions out there all with different stories only reinforces that the whole thing is a sham. There should only be 1 truth, not 1000's. It's all a money and influence grab, it doesn't take a brain to see it.

OSHMy favorite quote about religion:
When the Greeks got the gospel, they turned it into a philosophy; when the Romans got it, they turned it into a government; when the Europeans got it, they turned it into a culture; and when the Americans got it, they turned it into a business. -- Richard Halverson -

What you're saying is simply not true. At all. Religious sentiment is that god gave us the knowledge to better our lives through medicine. There are catholic hospitals all over the world. Christopher Columbus was a Roman Catholic. Is he not the explorer who put to rest the world is flat myth?
And I believe the bible even states the World is round..Isaiah 40.22 and 'God sitting above the circle of the earth' -

Y-Town SteelhoundThere may be one truth skyhook as you say, but what you believe to be the one truth is no different than anyone from any other religion. Every religion believes their's is right and none of them can prove it.
My thing has always been that I don't know, I will never know, so I don't spend my life/build my life around trying to know. -
