Sigh, I know. I think I have a follower somewhere in whindhelm whom I haven't sacrificed yet. I shall have to seek them out for this quest. I hate that town, least favorite in the game. I always get lost and turned around there.Heretic;1017175 wrote:
Also started Boethiah's daedric quest. Hope you haven't killed everyone who trusts you yet for that one sword, as you have to take another one out to get this quest started. -

FUCK WINDHEIM! Just finding the door to the house of that little peckerhead who gets you started with the Dark Brotherhood took me 10 minutes as I kept going in circles around the map pointer. And it still takes me forever to find the crap sector where the Dark Elves got tossed. It's sad when Markarth (the town with all the elevated winding staircases) is easier to navigate than that place. I prefer the more straightforward towns like Whiterun or Solitude. Or Riften, which adds the ever-so-desirable element of over-the-top sleaze and corruption.Commander of Awesome;1017201 wrote:Sigh, I know. Found a schmuck in Windhelm to sacrifice for this, the ebony mail is meh. I'm not going to use it. But I did finally max out the ebony blade and holy shit. Its ridiculous. good luck dying while having this bad boy. I took on a full squad of about 10 followers, including a priest (aka mage) and came out of the fight with full health. I'll only be using this in tougher fights as its really just not fair.Heretic;1017175 wrote: Also started Boethiah's daedric quest. Also I played the a lot over the weekend and I feel like I did nothing. I'm going to try and join the companions tonight, thats my goal! See if I actually do it. -
HereticI'm almost ready to start doing actual guilds and plot-related things, now. Gotten to be thane of about half the cities (and nearly there for Morthal and Solitude), done all but 4.5 daedra quests (four full ones and need to finish Boethiah's) and done roughly 4538473927374304 jobs for random people. Since I'm a pure brawler who uses cheap stealth tactics for tough situations, it'll probably be Companions first, followed by Thief/Brotherhood and finishing with mage. Might advance the main plot a wee bit more, since I think the dude on top of the big mountain gives you location hints for word walls and I'd like to collect a few more of those, even though I've gotten A LOT just by doing what I've been doing since so many random quests wind up taking you near one (or a wrong turn I make leads me there -- I think I got one just in trying to find Mehrune's Shrine, since it took forever to figure out how to get through the mountain area and find the path up there.

I Wear PantsI don't even know what direction I'm going to take yet in this game. I'm at the part where that bitch that stole the horn thing from the place that the greybeards send you wants you to go kill a dragon to prove you're not lying to her. Don't know if I'm gonna do that right away or not.
-
Commander of AwesomeI did that mission then have yet to do a single "main story" quest since. I ended up not playing last night so I'm hoping to join Companions tonight. I think I'm only Thane for 2 cities, didn't realize (duh) you can become thane in every city. I know on Sunday I got another mission from firebeard so I'd assume I'm on the way in solitude.

Gblockthis game sounds interesting...i think i am going to pick it up tonight or tomorrow...does it have any online play or just campaign/roleplay

I was hesitant to get the previous game in the series (Oblivion) since I'm mostly an online shooter type of guy, but it quickly became my favorite game. Now Skyrim is definitely my favorite game of all time.
Get it. I think it's only $40 as Toys R Us this week. -

The Wolf Queen ones? I'm on the second one of those. It's kinda neat how they put some of the lore from the random books in the game into the game, since there are eight volumes about the Wolf Queen scattered through the game. Bitch seems to be a real c*nt. And the vampire you fight as the boss for another town's main mission is named Movarth, who is featured in some Immortal Blood book.Commander of Awesome;1021704 wrote:I did that mission then have yet to do a single "main story" quest since. ohiobucks1GOAT game. and I'm not a typical fan of these types of games

hoops23The game is crack. Though my phatty PS3 seems to be on life support right now. Fucking pissed.

gorocks99Finally got the game yesterday. Have the whole week off from work and figured now would be a good time to do it. I'm level 14 but get my ass kicked against dragons and bears and trolls. Enough of the story missions for now (I'm up to the one where I have to infiltrate the embassy), I'm off to Winterhold to figure out some magic and get myself useful again.
-
Commander of AwesomeYou'll continue to get your ass kicked by bears until around late 30s. Trolls ease up and Dragons become laughable. They really become annoying at one point bc you have to pick up their heavy ass bones/scales (then go to your nearest house to unload them) and the time it takes to slay them on your strolls.
-
I Wear PantsI'm doing the Winterhold stuff as well. Just wasted like 35 minutes because I died and had forgot to save in a while.
-
Commander of AwesomeStarted the companions last night, really enjoying their missions so far. Better than Dark Brotherhood thus far IMO. I wish the dark brotherhood was more about assassin missions and less about them QQing about lack of leadership/night mother. Really dragged them down IMO.

Hate that, sadly I think we've all done something similar to this. I'm looking forward to learning more powerful spells, seems I've been stuck with the same apprentice level destruction spells even though I have a fairly high level.I Wear Pants;1022689 wrote:I'm doing the Winterhold stuff as well. 2quik4ualright just got this game, can someone explain to me how the soul trapping works. I have a few weapons that already ran out out charges and I would like to refill them.

You need to have an empty soul gem. Cast soul trap on monsters and kill them and you'll fill the gem with their soul. If their soul fits, that is. If it's a petty soul gem, only weak stuff like mud crabs and the weakest draugr can fit in there and if you kill a strong enemy, the game will just tell you the soul is too big for any gem you have.2quik4u;1024288 wrote:alright just got this game, can someone explain to me how the soul trapping works. Black Soul gems are the same, but only are for human souls. Humans don't fit in regular gems and monsters don't fit in Black gems. These are the great ones, as ALL human souls are grand, which means they'll recharge a lot more than other kinds.
Soul gems are used up and disappear after one use. Except for one. Azura's Star, which you get for doing the (very tough) Azura's Shrine quest. It can be used an infinite number of times. And depending on how you complete the quest, can be either a regular reusable one or a reusable black gem (how I got it, because that's so much effing more better!) -

I would add that at least for me, it's easier for me to have a weapon enchanted with soul trap. I prefer to pull out a sword with soul trap and whack away on a weak enemy rather than casting a spell (unless you do a ton of magic anyways).Heretic;1024311 wrote:You need to have an empty soul gem. gorocks99I picked up Haldir's staff which soul traps for 60 seconds when used, but haven't tried it out yet .. probably worth a gander for people looking to soul trap; also, I'm loving the Dawnbreaker sword you get from the Meridia quest. GOAT sword (so far, for my level 21 Redguard).
Also, I have a 3000+ gold bounty from the orcs 'cause they wouldn't let me into their fort, so I climbed on a mountain and shot 'em all. Jackasses, all of 'em. -
drarbyRight after I finished watching a Tom Emanski infomercial, I saw a commercial for this.

gorocks99Ugh ... first major bug for me. After breaking Madanach out of jail the Markarth guards won't stop attacking me. They actually ask if I want to go to jail, I say yes, and they just attack me anyway. City is closed for me I guess.
