darbypitcher22Wish we could had a 4.3 guy to that mix there somewhere....
but i like the speed we have there. I seriously hope the Kelly visit is just a courtesy visit for Henderson on his part... I don't wanna see him play for Kiffin either. -
charliehustle14Yeah I think Hagan willl end up a LB/S hybrid eventually....as long as he can tackle...which I'm sure he can if he's going somewhere to play DI football.

Speedofsandas of today, new rankings in Rivals 100 and ESPN 150.

Florida has a class for the ages. -

Out of curiousity, I looked up the fastest 40 times for 2010 on Rivals (<4.39). There were 13 kids...2 of them are 4 star recruits....3 3 star guys...2 2 star guys...and the rest unranked. So we're not missing out on too much, really.darbypitcher22 wrote: Wish we could had a 4.3 guy to that mix there somewhere....

charliehustle14Probably already mentioned long ago but RB Carlos Hyde is enrolled and taking classes at OSU now.

Yep, he was facebookin about his dorm at OSU.charliehustle14 wrote: Probably already mentioned long ago but RB Carlos Hyde is enrolled and taking classes at OSU now.
Add Turner and Hyde into this class which makes it that much better imo. -
charliehustle14I know Hyde and Turner both went the prep school route....why hasn't Turner enrolled already yet? They both went to the same prep school (Fork Union) so I figured they'd be in each other's hip pocket and on the same path.
-
devil1197Not sure but I know that Turner was academically ok'ed.
-
charliehustle14Good to hear.
-
SpeedofsandWhere was Hyde last year ? Prep school ? I saw him at Naples. I was all excited to see him run, OSU commit, about 2000 yds Sr. season. Let's just say Seabreeze was his team's worst game.
-
devil1197
Yeah prep school but I am not sure what type of impact he could even have his FR year because of the depth at the RB spot.Speedofsand wrote: Where was Hyde last year ? Prep school ? charliehustle14Yeah Hyde has a very steep uphill climb ahead of him. But he went to prep school, got his crap together, and enrolled early, so he's on the right path.
OSU has some crazy depth at RB heading into next season. Saine, Herron, Hall, Martin, Berry, Smith, and Hyde. And we have 2 pretty good young FB's in Boren and Homan. -
ironman02Roby seems like a nice pick up. Glad he's gonna be wearing S&G.
-
OneBuckeyeI think Smith and Hyde are probably going to get redshirted. Saine and Boom do good enough in short yardage. I hope that Berry see times on the feild this year, and maybe Hall could get a redshirt too . Both of these kids are very special IMO and I want to keep them around.

j_crazyany news today? are they going to take 4 more? or are they only targeting Bryant, Hicks, Henderson, James and carrying over schollies not used on those 4 over?
-
OneBuckeyeNo they say they only have 20 schollarships, apparently Gant is staying another year so that takes us down. I think Roby give us 17 in the class so we only have 3 more spots. We will get Bryant (Huge dissapointment if we dont') so that leaves us with two. I think we will get either James or Henderson. Getting both is possible but I don't think it will happen. Hicks is a longshot now. So I think we will have one more scholarship and rumors are we are looking for a TE because Fragel is being moved to OL, and that we are looking in the JUCO ranks for that TE. Also there is a punter in Ohio we could offer late with that last scholarship John Lloyd he is very good. Also there is news that the 2009 Corey Brown 5* DB recruit will be moving to WR next year.
-
devil1197Brown has said he will play anywhere the coaches want him to, personally I think for next season he will make a bigger impact on defense because there are many unproven guys in terms of depth that he could step in and get some PT.
We will have 20 scholarships to give out which leaves us with 3 remaining. Bryant will take one along with Henderson imo. James could happen but nothing real new to talk about with him.
A real curveball would be if Hicks committed to OSU out of nowhere. -
QuintI think we will end up with Henderson, Hicks, and Bryant. . . just my prediction.
-
darbypitcher22I'm not a fan of offering a full scholly to a Punter... but crazier things have happened... Tress does say the most important play of the game is a kick
-
TinkertrainYou never understand how important it is to have a great punter untill you dont have one.
-
darbypitcher22No, I understand how important it is to have a good one; just not sure I would give him a full scholly. There are plenty of good punters out there that can make it at this level. If you're going to go that route, make him a preferred walk on and, IF you have one available later on, then give it to him, but not right out of the gate.
-
Lovejoy1984Don't we already have 1 Scholarship punter in Buchanan, and a scholarship kicker coming in, in this class?
-
Tiger2003Yes Buchanan is on Scholarship at Ohio state, and Drew Basil is a verbal commitment from Chillicothe Ohio. He is rated the #13 Kicker.
-
Tinkertrain
Yes because you clearly know better than the 100+ college coaches who give schollys out to punter's because they understand the value of having a kid that can win the field position battle. A good punter is well worth a scholly and the top punter's in the country are not going to settle for preferred walk on spot's when they can go elsewhere and get a ride.darbypitcher22 wrote: No, I understand how important it is to have a good one; just not sure I would give him a full scholly. OneBuckeyeDominque(sp) Brown from Winton Woods has reportedly recieved an offer at WR position. This sends up red flags because we already have Corey Brown, Louis and Williams commited as WRs. This could be a sign that Williams can't qualify or Louis isn't sticking with his commitment. I will go with Williams not qualifying. No reason to take 4 WRs in this class with Corey Brown 09 moving to WR. D. Brown is one heck of an athlete, and is by no means a bad pickup.
