Ohio State Recruiting Thread

Bucknuts got ahold of Louis and he said his parents wanted him to take all his visits which most kids do. He said he was still 100% Buckeye.

But he also said he wasn't visiting Florida all the way up until a couple nights ago.

The way I see it its like an Ohio kid wanting so badly to go to OSU and the Buckeyes not having room. Louis wants to go to his home state team but UF may not have room therefore the trigger hasn't been pulled yet.

If I was OSU I'd yank the offer and go hard after a 3-4 star OL player. The Buckeyes loaded up talent last year at the WR spot and they have a couple guys that could play WR in this years class. Stock up on OL guys.

As far as Hicks, no one and I mean no one knows where he'll end up.

And I love the way Tressel recruits. He doesn't pressure kids, lie to kids, or any of the BS that some coaches do. If you want to be a Buckeye then great. If not there is another kid on the list that will gladly take your spot, win a couple B10 titles along with BCS bowl games all while having the opportunity every year to play for a NC. The Buckeyes are loaded with veterans at every position that it will be hard for any FR to come in and get significant playing time.

From what I heard Sentrel Henderson was one point too low on his ACT for admissions to OSU and he has to retake it. So he is definately too low for Norte Dame and may or may not for USC and Florida.
Each year, like at most places with tougher admissions, OSU is able to bring a couple/few recruits that fall below admissions standards. Its no different then any other place, including ND.

Some different news that I haven't heard before.

Tressel is supposedly made an in-house visit with Morgan Moses who went to Fork Union Military Academy (prep school). He is a 4 star OL who was ranked #49 last year by Rivals.

    So that means either:

    A) OSU has no shot at Henderson or James

    B) Moses is merely someone to fall back on just in case they really do have no shot at those two

    Does that sound logical?

I don't remember much of this kid from last year. . . but the name definitely sounds familiar. Were we even in the running last year?

Has James tipped his hat one way or another as to where he's leaning?

OSU is just setting up potential options in case Henderson or James go elsewhere (which I think one will). OSU is heavily in the running for both.

    We better get Henderson

James is keeping his opinions very very close to his chest. No one really knows what he's planning to do for sure. My guess would be ND. Again if he stays in ohio I'll be thrilled... the closer to home the better
  • devil1197
Yeah both Henderson and James are being very quiet about their processes.

Henderson is supposedly announcing his commitment on Lemmings show and he may be down to ND/OSU.

OSU may not finish great but they will have a good class. This is the year where they can afford to slack some on recruiting because of the mass amount of returning starters and even backups at basically every position.

Is Louis still 100% Buckeye ? They were saying here that if word got out of his visit, he would refuse Florida. Well, we know how that went. In the article it said he was also going to visit VaTech. (with his hs QB), and maybe UNC.
I think OSU is 50/50 for Henderson, James, and Hicks. I want all 3 at OSU.

Speed, he keeps telling guys at Bucknuts that he is 100% so we'll see.

His parents want him to take all his visits which isn't anything new.

Well, if Henderson is going to announce with Lemming...thats not good for OSU as everyone knows that Lemming is the biggest ND homer around. Doesn't bode well IMO.
And, if OSU doesn't close well, this could be one of the worst classes Tressel has had since he came to OSU.
He will have to pick it up quite a bit next year to cover up this one.
  • devil1197
Lemming said Henderson was announcing on his show during the AA game and he even noted that OSU was the favorite to land Henderson so its not a huge deal. Its not new news at all, just wanted to post it for people wanting to know when Henderson was announcing.

    Henderson won't be a Buckeye...just don't feel it
  • darbypitcher22
    ^^^^

    I'm not feeling it either
  • OneBuckeye
It is OSU or ND... ND brought a jersey with his number to their OV and he was impressed. Tressel brought an LOI... ND is gaining ground on OSU. He still has OV with florida and USC.
  • devil1197
    ND can bring jersey's

Tressel should bring the B10 trophies, his NC ring, and his other 3 BCS bowl game trophies. Then a list of all the players he has gotten into the NFL.

if that IS the convincing formula, lets hope florida doesnt do the same...

rumor is that barnett is transferring. anyone heard something similar?
  • OneBuckeye
^ That would suck because we are thin at CB as it is and he is very talented.

Checked around and didn't find anything... other than he is getting a lot of reps in practice and was playing a lot of safety during bowl practices. It would be very out of left field if he did.
  • j_crazy
I thought so too, but I got a text from a buddy "Rumors floating that CJ Barnett is going to transfer."
  • darbypitcher22
    I reallllly want Henderson....
