But look deeper than Gardner and Morris. Gardner was already there when Hoke arrived. Hoke recruited Morris (who got downgraded from 5*to 4* and that was probably even overrated), Russell Bellomy (a low 3 star that was never going to do anything at Michigan and is no longer playing), Speight (another low 3* who Borges chose over more highly regarded QB recruits with high Michigan interest and is currently behind a freshman that should be a senior in HS), Malzone (4* who we don't know much about yet but will clearly be redshirting) and walk-ons. He skipped an entire damn year of QB recruiting!Classyposter58;1719656 wrote:Is that a joke? Gardner was the #1 DT-QB and Morris was the #4 PP-QB coming out of high school putting up unreal displays. But Hoke couldn't develop a caterpillar into a butterfly let alone a QB, Harbaugh should be able to develop much much better
You are spot on about the development though. Hoke and staff ruined Gardner. I think he would have been damn good under a good QB coach. -
Fly4FunToo much talk about UM QB's on an OSU thread. GTFO!
-
AutomatikYeah, it's irrelevant. They are getting clownstomped when we come to the Big House, doesn't matter who plays QB.
I saw this on 11W today. I was a big fan of that vid when it first came out. I had no idea OSU adobted these techniques.

Cardale Jones is "significantly" better now than at the end of the year, Coombs said. "He has the biggest arm in college football." -

se-alumJamel Dean(early enrollee) was not medically cleared by OSU doctors and has been released to pursue other opportunities. Seems odd, but he did suffer another injury before the Semper Fi game.

Meh. Honestly, we offered to honor his scholarship but he's not medically cleared to play. I don't think OSU is trying to game anything as obviously this is a talented player who could make an impact, but clearly he's not physically ready for the game. Now if Ohio State pulled his scholarship and kicked him off the team, I'd be angry, but the reality this kid has a chance to earn a free degree at the top University in the country. He will end up losing irrelevant bowl games on some SEC school team because clearly he doesn't value education.Pick6;1720006 wrote:http://www.cleveland.com/osu/index.ssf/2015/04/jamel_dean_ohio_state_roster.html

AutomatikYeah, if this similar to the kid who got his scholly pulled at Louisville I'd say it's BS.
Sorry, but what that coach had to say doesn't hold much water with me. -

Haven't taken any sides because there is surely more details to come out, but on the face it looks like OSU is screwing the player. OSU has to get to the scholly limit from oversigning and this seems like a cheap way to help. The kid isn't cleared right now, but will be by summer according to one of the most renowned knee surgeons in the world. I'd take his word. A torn meniscus isnt a career ending injury.sleeper;1720011 wrote:Meh. Honestly, we offered to honor his scholarship but he's not medically cleared to play. AutomatikWe won it all and beat Bama on the way.
I'm channeling my "inner-sleeper" and I'm 1 billion % on board with whatever the fuck Meyer and his staff wants to do regarding ANYTHING football related. -
se-alumIf you were just trying to clear scholarships, you would do this with a player that has already proven what they're capable(or not capable) of, not a 4* early enrollee freshman. I would think OSU is being a little more careful after guys like Johnnie Dixon comes in with arthritic knees at 18 years old. If you want to be an elite team, you can't have injured players taking up scholarships for years. It'll be interesting to see if anything else comes out about this.

@uofcincy: Hey @OhioState, you've been to Paul Brown. You've been to Great American. We would love to host you at Nippert or Fifth Third. [emoji106] -

Congrats. UM has brought his SEC ways to OSU and you guys are all in. If by "brought his SEC ways to OSU" you're referring to 'brought a National Championship to Columbus and the Big Ten after the SEC ripped off 7 straight National Championships'... you're exactly right and deserve a Rep.WebFire;1720183 wrote:Congrats. You mean by winning national titles? Something Michigan will never do with Harbaugh.WebFire;1720183 wrote:Congrats. UM has brought his SEC ways to OSU and you guys are all in. LOL
I personally can't wait until Michigan fires Harbaugh after he goes 0-4 against OSU(yes, Harbaugh will be fired in 4 years tops because he won't win anything). -
Classyposter58Looking at the depth chart it's hard to not think this may be the best team in school history and one of the best possibly ever. Like 2001 Miami good, cannot get over how stacked this team is going to be
-
HitsRusNot sure what the high school coach is so jacked up about. The kid is in a great position....he gets a full ride to Ohio State and he doesn't even have to play football, and if football is that important, he can go to whatever school that will take him. Really, it is win-win for him.

I think this team goes undefeated and wins every game by 3 TDs. I'm really hoping to play Alabama in either the title game or the semi-final again; I love beating up those red necks.Classyposter58;1720897 wrote:Looking at the depth chart it's hard to not think this may be the best team in school history and one of the best possibly ever. The kid wants to play football. C'mon. If the world renowned Dr. James Andrews says he'll be able to play again, then that trumps any OSU doctor's medical opinion, IMO.HitsRus;1721047 wrote:Not sure what the high school coach is so jacked up about.
