That's why I don't think Arizona is going to jump OSU.

Also, OSU is simply better than Arizona, assuming Cardale isn't a complete f*ck up. I've watched all 24 games the 2 teams have played so far to come to that conclusion.
  • Automatik
I think the top 4 will stay.

    So 1v4, 2v3?

Just give the trophy to Bama already. Dammit.
  • ernest_t_bass
I'm liking GT over FSU. I'm thinking it will be Bama/Oregon in the championship. Oregon rolls, 125-4.

Not sure where Zona is even in this discussion. Or even Baylor if OSU wins. As this article states, IF OSU wins, its going to come down to TCU and OSU. A FSU win over GT will probably boost them back to #3 seeing TCU is playing a shit team. Committee said FSU n TCU were/are very close. And have stated, a conference championshp game win will certainly add to a teams resume'.

Bama is good, no question about it. But they are certainly beatable.

Bama is beatable but can't see Oregon or FSU Beating them...come to think of it can't see TCU either..

Throw some of our male cheerleaders out on the field. The SEC is garbage this year outside of Bama and I could field a high school team that could beat any of their top 5 teams. OSU will beat the shit out of MSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, Missouri, etc. whoever.

If there are 3 or less 1-loss teams, and Arizona wins, I think they have a shot. They would be the top 2-loss team. With that said, they still need 3 teams to lose.

I can see both beating them. Mainly Oregon. But don't count out FSU. Yes, they playing close to the vest...but they know how to win, period. OSU in 2002 ring a bell?

I still think multiple things happen this weekend between the games being played and what we think will happen based on certain outcomes.

centralbucksfan;1681504 wrote:Yes, serious. OSU beat a TOP 10 team, MSU, on the road, convincingly. IF they beat Wisconsin, a top 15 team, those two wins trump anything TCU has done except for KSU win. And as I said..it doesn't matter now. The committee moved TCU to #3 for a reason. To keep them in top 4. This avoids any kind of issue pretty much with the OSU/TCU (4/5) argument.

Both teams will have 1 loss if OSU wins. 1 team has a higher SOS, and also doesnt have a 3rd string QB playing. How can you honestly say that OSU is a better team?

And the only common opponent TCU thrashed

I earlier thought that if OSU won out, they are in.

Not so sure right now. The repeatedly state they are trying to get the best 4 teams in. Easy argument could be made OSU isnt one of them without barrett.

Plus, I have a feeling after this weekend OSU wont be in the discussion

Just to kind of vent here:

I thought this was a playoff based on body of work. If you want to put "the best" 4 teams in a playoff you don't need a freaking committee. You pick ANY Vegas website and look at which 4 teams would be favored according to Vegas and BOOM there you go.

This "without Barrett" shit is garbage.

The NFL has a playoff based on merit and record.

They had the chance to actually run with a playoff this year and they settle for 4 teams in a "Power 5" world LOL. Seriously? Why not just 6 or 8? At least in those 2 scenarios, you get 5 automatic bids and 1-3 wild cards (based on "eye of the tiger" test)

That way you don't have to worry about Baylor trying to pad it's record by playing Arkansas Pine Bluff and Kentucky's 3rd Cousin.

Taking it a step further, the playoff was your chance to turn this into a rival of the NFL. You SHOULD have come up with a system that allows for all champions to enter a playoff for a clear-cut logical reason why they deserve to participate versus the wizard of the oz style deliberation where the great wizard behind the curtain is calling all the shots.

The thing about the NFL and merit, they have a concrete system to go with in determining the playoff teams.

I tihnk they eventually go the winners of the 5, and 3 at large.

How is the without Barrett shit garbage? If youre having a committee pick out 4 teams that are the best in the country with similar resumes and one is missing its heisman contender QB with an unproven 3rd string QB replacing him, that team is nowhere near the same team.

And you cannot compare the NFL standings system to college, its not even near the same thing

If card ale is a complete F up... We won't have to worry about making the top 4 because we won't beat Wisky.
  • rydawg5
I disagree if we get out to an early lead cardale doesn't even have to throw the ball. He could suck and our system can win.

I'm expecting a beat down from Wisky starting on the kick-off. I'm hoping I could be wrong although that is probably unlikely.

Its called the "eye test". Thats why. Disagree if you want. Thats fine. That common opponent vs OSU, was JT 2nd game he had played in, in over 2yrs. Most people realize that. Since that game, OSU is light years better. And yes, Jones is the trump card. But I feel he will surprise many this weekend. I also feel the system OSU has going, with the play makers they have, will be enough. IMO, defense is going to make or break this game.
