Why the top 8? Mich St will be #7 or #8 and they have zero chances at the top 4....there will be 2-4 teams behind them Tuesday that will still have a distant prayer.Pick6;1679972 wrote:who gives a damn about anyone outside of the top 8 at this point. -
Azubuike24Arizona and Missouri, IMO, have an extreme outside shot at the playoff. Those are probably the only 2-loss teams with a chance, because both could ultimately win their conference AND get a win over a top 5 team.
-
sleeperOSU wins on Saturday they are in. TCU sucks, Baylor sucks. Ohio State will win the title this year.

I don't think Arizona's is extreme at all.Azubuike24;1680310 wrote:Arizona and Missouri, IMO, have an extreme outside shot at the playoff. Those are probably the only 2-loss teams with a chance, because both could ultimately win their conference AND get a win over a top 5 team.
If they defeat Oregon
AND
OSU or Bama loses
I think they are in. -
Ironman92I do not believe TCU and Baylor would both make it.
TCU simply is not going to lose to Iowa St....any losses by anyone and they are 1 of the 4.
I think the committee would jump 2 loss Arizona over 1 loss Baylor if it came down to choosing between those two for the final spot. -
Azubuike24Fathom this.
TCU wins. They are a lock.
K-State beats Baylor.
Wisconsin beats Ohio State.
Georgia Tech beats Florida State.
Missouri beats Alabama.
Arizona beats Oregon.
Which other 3 teams get in? Does FSU, by default, stay? Wouldn't Georgia Tech have an argument over them? Obviously Arizona, Missouri, Wisconsin and even K-State would also just have the upper hand on teams previously that were being considered? -
Ironman92FSU
TCU
Arizona would be my 3 locks out of that scenario.....the 4th comes down to the scores of the Bama and Wisconsin games.
If GT blew out FSU I would pass them.
Missouri would have to dominate Bama in the game and on the scoreboard for a smidgen of a chance.
K-State would have to dominate as well to get a sniff.
I don't believe there is any scenario that anyone would have a better 2 loss resume than Arizona. -
Azubuike24Would Wisconsin REALLY have a better resume than Georgia Tech, Missouri or Kansas State? No other notable OOC wins, only decent wins being Minnesota and Ohio State (without Barrett) and a loss to a 5-7 team.
On the contrary, Missouri has a loss to 4-8 Indiana, Tech lost to 6-6 North Carolina.
I agree, Arizona would be the first 2-loss team considered. -
Ironman92
I haven't compared Wisky's outcomes in depth compared to those other. Not sure I'm that interested lol. From your findings maybe not but why are they ranked above them now?Azubuike24;1680350 wrote:Would Wisconsin REALLY have a better resume than Georgia Tech, Missouri or Kansas State? Ironman92GT if the beat FSU would have 3 wins vs top 20 teams (Clemson, Georgia "so lucky" and FSU)
If Wisconsin beats OSU they'll have 3 wins over top 25, but 2 right on the 25 mark)
If GT squeaks by FSU and Wisky wins convincingly.....it would be tight. -
Rotinaj
OSU should win by at least 6 touchdowns considering Wisconsin lost to SEC trash LSU.sleeper;1680312 wrote:OSU wins on Saturday they are in. TCU sucks, Baylor sucks. Ohio State will win the title this year. -
Ironman92After looking at all 4 I'd rank them this way
Georgia Tech
K State barely over Wisconsin
Missouri
All 4 could change next week.
1. Oregon wins
2. FSU wins
3. TCU wins
Missouri wins 38-24
Wisconsin wins handily.
K State nips Baylor
4. Would be Wisconsin IMO
I think Bama has to lose and play poorly or they could still be top 4 over teams like Missouri, Wisky, GT and K-State
Missouri has to win by about 28 to have a chance IMO with the same format I laid out...and Wisky winning a closer game.
Iowa St is the overlooked team in everything...the committee better hope Iowa St doesn't win lol -
Azubuike24The biggest question would be, Tech wins, but FSU would still be in? They wouldn't put in 2 ACC teams, would they?
-
Ironman92
That's the catch....I don't think the scenarios are easy for 2 Big 12's with 1 loss each, let alone from the ACC.Azubuike24;1680381 wrote:The biggest question would be, Tech wins, but FSU would still be in? They wouldn't put in 2 ACC teams, would they?
Give me a minute on that possible scenario -
Ironman921. Oregon wins
2. Kansas St wins a close one
3. GT wins a close one
4. Wisconsin wins a close one
5. Iowa St wins
6. Missouri wins by 14-21 points
That would give (IMO)
1. Oregon
2. FSU
3. Lol
I don't know. Probably Bama and maybe GT
Iowa St ain't winning but the others are all more than feasible. -
Ironman92Let's assume Tuesday it's 1. Bama, 2. Oregon, 3. FSU, 4 TCU and 5. OSU
Then Arizona beats Oregon handily.
Wisconsin beats OSU easily.
Missouri destroys Bama
GT blows out FSU
Kansas St smacks Baylor
Iowa St beats TCU
1. Arizona
2. Kansas St
3. Georgia Tech
4. Wisconsin
5. Missouri
Oregon might still be in that top 5 scenario but I don't think any of the other 5, maybe Bama would. -

If tech wins, i dont think any ACC team makes it.Azubuike24;1680381 wrote:The biggest question would be, Tech wins, but FSU would still be in? They wouldn't put in 2 ACC teams, would they? -

Tech wins handilyPick6;1680414 wrote:If tech wins, i dont think any ACC team makes it.
Oregon wins
Iowa St wins
Wisconsin wins a close one
Missouri wins
K State wins
I don't think you could keep GT out of the top 4 with their strong finish and wins vs top 20 Clemson and Top 15 Georgia and then FSU handily.
It would be Oregon for sure and then GT's resume and great finish and championship winner vs the others who all have 2 losses as well, without 3 wins that good, without championships and without the great finish. GT definitely above Wisky and Missouri with just better wins. Above OSU, Baylor and TCU
These are obviously long shots for several small upsets to all happen but definitely think this scenario gets GT in.
Fucking Georgia lol dumbasses -
TiernanStill the only one on OC to have 3 of the final 4 from original picks back in Sept. I'll give my actual championship pick later this week for those of you waiting to hear it for your betting services - you're welcome.

FSU was preseason #1.
Alabama was preseason #2.
Oregon was preseason #3.
Completely going out on a limb there. Like Pick6 posted, I'm sure many, many people on here had those 3, and others with Ohio State (preseason #5) in their final four.
Lets wait until New Year's before we start bragging about predictions. -

No way, the Big 12 would get both in. On CFB Daily a committee member even said thisIronman92;1680329 wrote:I do not believe TCU and Baylor would both make it.
