They need it figured out tomorrow. @ Iowa and Wisconsin in 2 weeks. Can't afford to drop any more before then.

I said it earlier in the year but who will score for OSU? Who will shoot 3 consistently? Great defensive team, but shitty offensive team

I hope you're right, but I'm just not sure--could it be they've already peaked? God I hope not...

Not right now they're not...there's something going on, and whatever it is, they need to get over it and get back to playing basketball.

    What we saw tonight:
    1. Another 1st half lay-up drill by the opponent.
    2. Careless turnovers by the most experienced players
    3. A totally unmotivated Amir Williams
    4. A point guard who has no confidence and tries to bull his way to the basket.
    5. An off guard who refuses to look at the basket

What to do? I think Loving needs more minutes at the expense of Smith, Scott, and Craft. If Amir Williams wasn't sick tonight someone needs to get in his grill and tell how fortunate he is to wear on OSU uniform.

The Buckeyes need wins at home against Illinois and Penn State if they want to make the NCAA tournament. They have one semi-quality win and a couple of bad losses. They are looking like an NIT team.

    They need Thomas back

I just have no idea how they will score. This team needs a all American type good out of Ross. Problem is, he just isn't that good. He's solid, but not a guy you can base your team around. If I'm thad, im staying small more often because your big men don't work hard and I'm playing my young guys. I'm sitting Lenzelle Smith much more and playing della valle and loving more. Especially against zone. And it's been mentioned that there seems to be some rift on the team and I think it's Lenzelle. He chucks up some of the worst and ugliest shots. I think he's gone into me mode and left we mode behind.

And I think unless they are gonna press for 30 minutes a game, you can't keep playing craft and Scott together. They just can't score and give teams the chance to help so much more onto Ross.

I've said all along that you can't play Craft and Scott together for the same reason you give plus it makes OSU too small. Put Thompson back in the starting lineup, let Williams rot on the bench, give Loving more minutes, and I think if Smith Jr. keeps clanking 3s that he needs to sit more. Matta looked completely clueless and frustrated last night. This team at this moment is the worst team in the B1G. You can't change a lot because there just isn't much there., but I think Thompson and Loving in the starting lineup may help. Craft, Loving, Thompson, Ross, and Smith Jr.

No scorers at all. And if I am defending the Buckeyes, I simply run a zone all night and force them to knock down shots. We have zero presence in the paint. I love Craft's hustle and intensity, but he and Scott give us nothing offensively.

I agree Midstate...Scott and Craft cannot be on the floor at the same time. Yes, Lenzelle Smith seems have some issues and it is affecting everyone...including Coach Matta.

Amir Williams and Shannon Scott are the worst McDonald's All-Americans in the history of McDonald's All-Americans.

Scott can't shoot and Williams is completely dis-interested in playing the game of basketball.

Sit them both...along with Smith if he can't get his head out of his #$* and play the team game that is the only way for this group to be successful. More time to Loving and Thompson.

At one point last night, I was for benching Smith, Scott, Craft, Williams and Ross and going with McDonald, Della Valle, Thompson, Loving and Lorbach. They couldn't have done much worse.

There is really only 1 person on here that thinks that having Craft and Scott on the floor at the same time for long periods is a good idea. I've said it all 3 years that Scott has been here that it is an awful idea for long stretches. Thompson needs to start and Scott needs to be the 7th man

Offensively I think the best lineup is something like Scott-ADV-Thompson-Loving-Ross, but Lenzelle is a senior so has to play and Craft is obviously too good on defense and the leader and has to be out there because that unit would get killed on defense. They are obviously bad on offense right now, but just as concerning to me is it looks like a damn layup line at times when they're on defense. Not once the past 4-5 years have they looked so bad on defense at times. I have faith that they'll get things turned around but any thought about Final Four or Elite 8 is now gone with this team as it's obvious they don't have the completeness needed to reach those levels. D'Angelo Russell and Keita Bates-Diop can't get here soon enough.

I didn't want to point fingers when I originally posted this, but Smith, Jr. is exactly who I had in mind. I don't know if it's a jealousy thing or what, but something's definitely wrong--and with him being a senior, this affects everyone even more.

    Della Valle is simply awful

Yeah, not sure why anybody wants to see him get more minutes.
  • Classyposter58
I think the problem is the offense, in that they don't run any. Seriously reminds me of BG in a way, bunch of great athletes but not really that good offensively or scoring wise. Too often I see people standing and Craft kinda dribbling around and slowing the pace down. This team needs to maybe run more motion or flex and not so much of that fucking dribble weave offense. Doesn't work with our non scorers
  • Heretic
There's just so many things wrong with them right now that it's hard to even list them all.

No interior presence either offensively or defensively.
No one can consistently hit jump shots. Or lay-ups, for that matter. Or free throws. Or anything that involves the ball going through the basket.
They just have this offensive black hole of suck going on where half the guys just pass the ball around because they're scared to shoot and then someone comes off the bench (Delle Valle, Loving), they start immediately jacking it up. The sort of lack of chemistry that makes you wonder if they actually are a team that plays together or just a bunch of strangers tossed onto the court.

It's just amazing. In a two-week period, they went from looking like a strong team that came one missed lay-up away from beating MSU on the road to a team that looks like they'd get rolled by half the MAC.

"@GoodmanESPN: For this season? Craft. RT @TJFsports: .@GoodmanESPN Jeff, world needs this answered, would you rather have Craft or Wiggins on your team?"

    Lol'd.

Can we please fucking win tonight?!

That loss to Nebraska was one of the worst I can recall in a long time.

With the way Illinois also is slumping badly, I'm picking one team to win by about a 41-38 margin. I'm not sure who yet, though.

Joe Lunardi still has them as a 6 seed.

12-10 Illini, 8 to go in the first half.
