Ohio State Basketball Official Thread

I guess, in a way, last night was a positive move. Just for the reason that, after trailing a good portion of the game, they were actually able to get over the hump, take a lead and hold on to win.

Seems that in all their losses except the three blowouts, they've had this really annoying habit of getting down 8-10, battling back to either tie it or get within one possession and then have a lapse to let the other team get back up to 6-8 points again; wash, rinse, repeat until the game's over. For a bit, it looked like that might happen again, but they were able to get past Northwestern and get another win.

On the other hand, it was home against Northwestern, who has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that their good start record-wise was more a product of their schedule and not because they're actually good. I don't know that I feel "proud" about watching a team need to battle back at home to defeat those guys.

Whose awful idea was the "floor seats" cam?

    This camera angle is brutal.

Where was it? We had a game my freshman year that was a birds-eye view from directly over half court for the entire game. I believe it was the first and last game ESPN did that way.

Basically at mid court and at court level. It was so bad. You couldn't see the far corner, couldn't see underneath play well, it was a horrible experiment.

Yeah, I guess I kind of got used to it after a while, but there were still parts of the court that were huge blind spots.

All you saw was people in the way, keeping you from seeing the ball. Hell if you're gonna do that stupid angle, might as well just have no announcers and let you hear the sounds from the court.

With Dakich doing the game, that would be a plus!

Always good to get a win over um.

What does OSU need to do now to get back on the bubble?
  • Mulva
Not losing to Nebraska would be a good start. Then my best guess would be win 2 of the last 3 or 1 + 2 BTT games.

Buckeyes need to beat MSU or Iowa. Their wins are awful. Given their schedule, Michigan might lose 3 of their final 4, so that win last night was critical.

Overall yes, but I did especially like the one on December 19th ;)
  • Azubuike24
That's the only good one haha. Michigan, I guess, if they don't fade the last 4. I'll bet they lose 3 of their final 4 though and definitely drop outside of the top 60.

    Marc Loving is fricking terrible

Of course he misses that free throw

    Big Road win for oSU
  • The Answer
Very important win. Could not afford another loss to mediocre/bad teams. Game was terrible though. One of the worst 1st half I have ever seen. But win is a win. Tuesdayis absolute must win over Sparty at home to have any prayer at the tournament. Hopefully the team shows up
  • Azubuike24
I think if they beat MSU OR Iowa, they have an argument. The SOS at 114 may kill OSU, but the bubble is super soft. Their biggest issue is 18-10 is inflated. There are many teams with like 15 or 16 wins who have tons of better wins.

A team like Alabama or Oregon State doesn't have the record, but has a better resume. If the Buckeyes can win one of the next 3, win a game in the B10 Tourney, they might hit the magic "20-win in the Big Ten" mark and get a look.

Saw this on Twitter earlier. No B1G team has ever won 11 games in conference and be left out of ncaa tourney. Osu has 10 right now.

Kinda a dumb stat since it wasn't an 18 game schedule until and unbalanced until recently.
