Maybe I should be more specific. What will Notre Dame do as far as conferences for it's non-football sports and scheduling for football? Or does it give in and go to the Big 12? I just don't see them joining the B1G at this point.

I do not see the ACC going away anytime soon.

Yeah it just doesn't make sense for a school in South Bend, IN to be in a conference with other midwestern schools. ND obviously thinks playing schools in the Mid Atlantic states hours away is such a good idea

If Maryland can get out of the ACC with little to no exit fees, this could get interesting.

How is it not filed (either the ACC suit or Maryland's suit) in Federal court. I think Maryland has a case for breach of contract denying meetings if they are still in the conference.

Looks like the Big East is getting close to a TV deal for football and basektball with NBC Sports. Teams would get $20 million a year. Would like to see that network take off and start to challenge ESPN.

Pretty impressive for the old CUSA.

Its 20 million total.... thats about 2 mil per school. That is god awful. UC has got to get an ACC or big 12 invite. They've won at least 10 games 5 out of the last 6 years. And what has that gotten them? 2 million? Gtfo

oh god that's awful. I misread either the tweet or the story.
  • Sonofanump
Fuck, I also misread, I thought it twas $20m per school. I guess $2m a school is appropriate for the BigLeast aka Cusa 2004.

they are lucky they are getting a tv deal at all.

Cincinnati needs to hit the Big 12 hard. Now that Louisville is no longer a partner option they'll need some other suitor to go with them. Not sure who that could be. UConn is too far east and is a mess. Not sure Texas and others want Houston back.

What did that add to this conversation?
  • Sonofanump
I don't see Cincy in the B12 or ACC.

That Cinci is right where they belong.

The guy that broke the story about Maryland joining the Big 10 just posted that North Carolina has been offered.

    Adding more mediocrity.

I don't like the addition of North Carolina. That's too far south for my liking.

UNC is a great program to add. Medicority in what? Football? Yeah maybe, even though they are a decent program . Hell of a basketball school. Great academics. Perfect fit.

Agreed on the basketball and academics. That profile fits with the B1G. Might as well just offer Duke as well. Their football program only looks good because they play ACC teams.

Great Academics? Maybe. I only like them because they beat Duke sometimes.

Get used to to. They want the southern grab.
