    No they don't get football money from the ACC. ACC keeps money from Notre Dame/ACC games that ESPN/ABC broadcasts.

    It won't look like that. Both Navy and Boise State have scheduled meeting with the conference commissioner regarding Rutgers leaving and their own desire to sever their affiliation with the Big East.

    SDSU is the other one seeking an out! That would be a ridiculous conference travel distance. I truly think the Big East will be no more.

    The Big East needs to just dissolve as a conference and let their teams migrate. You know the ACC is going to pillage it to fill in to 16 eventually. Just let the C-USA, MAC and MWC take what's left after the ACC and Big 12 get what they want.

    Heard an interview with Gene Smith yesterday a few things he mentioned:
    -No decision has been made as to what divisions Maryland and Rutgers will play in, they will keep OSU and Michigan as the last game and with continued expansion, may see them in the same division as to keep them from playing back to back games in the future.
    -He does not feel that the Big Ten is done expanding, but gave no indication as to who and when others would be added
    -Feels they will have to play more conference games in football as OOC games will be harder to come by and with the upcoming playoff and how they will measure strength of schedule.

    When Syracuse stopped becoming relevant and Miami and VT left. On a side note on NCAA Football I reset the conferences to where they were in 2002. The landscape of college football was so much better

    Big East started as a basketball conference.I remember watching it when ESPN first started. It was great watching the great match-ups they had on T.V.Now they must forget about football and just try to have the best b-ball conference around.With ACC schools possibly moving elsewhere it could get very interesting.

    The B1G may end up being the best bball conference...they have IU, OSU, UM, Mich St in the top 25 (the first 3 are in the top 5) and then Wisconsin is tough. Add Maryland and guessing they get back to relevance some and thats a pretty tough class to beat.

    No doubt that it'll be the Big Ten and ACC at the top two most years now.

    Duke, North Carolina, Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Notre Dame, (eventually Connecticut or Cincinnati or Louisville), North Carolina State, Florida State... The ACC-Big Ten matchup should be awesome.

    FSU won't be there long, but still a pretty good BB conference.

    We were discussing this over the weekend, and the consensus was is that this is a very distinct possibility (much to Cinci's dismay). There really aren't a lot of options left out there for them.

    Yep..I mean I could see the ACC going after them if the conference gets raided some more. Maybe they will be content with staying in the Big East, though. However, what advantage would they have by staying? They will no longer be in an AQ. At this rate, the Big East is looking like it will end up being worse than the MAC. The question is, is all the extra travel worth keeping whatever dignity they have to make themselves feel better than a MAC program.

    Uconn, Louisville, Cinci are being discussed as ACC possibilities. I would be shocked if they'd go to the MAC.
