Will you watch?

Oh. I must have read the BCS standings incorrectly. Luckily I still like football enough that I think I can stomach watching a 1 vs. 3 match up.

I'm not going to not watch the game just because the BCS is a fucking joke. If it ends up assaulting my eyeballs then I can turn it off. But I'm not going to assume it will be a horrible game going in.

I'm not overly impressed with Bama's record this year, not to the point where I would definitively say they are better than Okie St. (or other teams, like Stanford).

I have no idea how anyone can definitively say Bama is the second best team.
    That helps. Thanks.

It's not uncommon for folks to think the best two are not in the championship game.

Wisky and MSU deserved to play in that game, due to what they done on the field. 'Bama does not deserve to play in the NCG, because they did nothing to warrant it. Not sure how those are the same.

The computers don't have SEC bias. Computers have OSU #2. They should be playing.

If you think otherwise then you're either an SEC homer, or an idiot.

That was one of the 4 reasons I listed in the thread.

Because you asked if Bama would be champs if they won. It's exactly the same.

Hopefully this is the beginning of the end for the BCS system.

And fuck no, I won't watch a second of this shit. I would watch a Southern Conference basketball game before I watch 2 SEC teams duke it out for a supposed National Championship. I flipped over to Baylor/Oklahoma State game because of the inept offenses that those two SEC teams put out on the field. If I wanted to see good defenses, I'd watch the NFL which bores the hell out of me.

And I will watch as much of the FCS playoffs (the true D1 national champions) that ESPN shows.

    Let's fill in the blanks.
So what if MSU wins, can you actually call them B1G Champions being that Wiscy has already beat them? If Wiscy wins, we still haven't learned anything because we knew Wiscy was better than MSU. It's a BCG that serves no purpose.

MSU winning last night, and 'Bama beating LSU in the NCG would be nothing alike. MSU winning last night, would be more like LSU beating 'Bama a second time, since MSU had already beaten Wisky once this year. Clearly you're mistaken about what happened in the first MSU/Wisky game.

Yes, I'm sorry. I had them mixed around for some reason.

Question still stands, just switch it around.

So why all the outrage that 11-1 Oklahoma State is left out? They lost so fuck em, right? They had every opportunity to reach the title game. If they take care if business, there is no debate.

Wisky is the B1G champ only because those are the two teams that HAD to play in the game, and the winner would be considered the B1G champs, technically. Does it prove Wisky is better than MSU, not at all. If 'Bama wins, no questions are answered. It's unfair to LSU and it's unfair to the fans.

Whether they have to play or are chosen, there is no difference.

I thought the BCS system was more about who you beat rather than who you lost to.

Alabama didn't really beat anyone worth a damn outside of Arkansas, and that is really pushing it.

At least OSU Michigan rematch would have a touchdown.

I think Alabama is the best team in the country. Not just #2.

Was it their awesome win over Georgia Southern in their late season "bye" that convinced you?

Seriously, unless you play an independent (Notre Dame, Navy, etc.), it should be an NCAA rule that once the conference season starts, you play all in-conference games. The SEC is notorious for padding their schedules with this crap.

Exactly. The SEC is the only conference who plays their cupcakes at the end of the season.

South Carolina and Florida really padded their schedules like that. Ohio State and other big ten teams have played ooc games after big ten games have started in the past I believe.

They do, but at least they play their games in October, OSU's worst cupcake scheduling was New Mexico St. back in '09.

But the SEC takes it a higher level, playing the games in November and often against I-AA teams (see Bama and Georgia Southern, Auburn and Tennessee-Chattanooga this year).

    It is lame.
