The only thing I'm getting dizzy from is reading your posts, because to be honest, I don't see a whole lot of spinning going on (by most guys)....we know JT was wrong in the way he handled the whole tatoo mess, especially when he lied about it, but he's still our coach.

    btw, it's Coach Fickell...smh
It won't be done until after we see what Luke can do this year. One thing is for sure, he will know how not to run a big time program.

Calling out stupidity for a spelling error when you don't know the difference between your and you're....very interesting

I'd think they would be culpable and open for lawsuits by besmirching innocent individuals by printing what they knew was obvious bull shit.

So YOU'RE one of those people? SMH

vball, 12 of 13 previous coaches who lied as Tressel has, lost their jobs. JT's days are numbered. The mess will not be done before Fickell coaches some games (5 or 12). Luke has been on staff for 10 years. He should know about most things in the program. At first I was all for him taking over, but maybe he is too close. It might take more of an outsider to clean up Tressel's mess.
I don't think the NCAA & OSU will be done with it until after the season is over, there will be an appeal by OSU.

speedo, you make an excellent point...and I agree that Fickell is too close (unfortunately, because I also would've liked to see him to get a shot) and will be collateral damage.

No they don't think that. They printed exactly what Small said. Nothing wrong with that. In fact, your entire post is more ignorant than you claim the Lantern to be. Meisel obviously knows not everyone does that stuff he's been around the football program for 4 years now, but if Small is willing to put that on the record then he needs to deal with the consequences when it's printed.

Maybe next time they should change someone's quotes in order to protect the program. That makes sense.

If you haven't read it yet, i'd recommend reading Tyler Moeller's blog post. He addressed the allegations as well as Ray Small and Club Trillion. I know Tyler and he is a great kid. The words of Moeller, Jenkins, Cordle, Till, Silka, etc will be ignored but Ray Small's wont. Sad.

The media out to skewer OSU and the people who feel the same way will ignore all of what Tyler wrote on his blog. In particular, all the good things Tressel has done (is doing) to help others.

In today's world, if you talk about how you should live your life and do only good things -- and then fail to live up to your own words -- the media is going to hound you until they think you're irrelevant. They, and those who agree with them, ignore the fact that being human means you WILL make mistakes.

The key thing is what you do after you've screwed up.

    That will also be ignored.

You mean like, after you didn't report Pryor and Co. to the compliance office or NCAA...you go ahead and lie about knowing it?
  • Big Gain
NO, good Journalism is NOT to print what you know to be exaggerations, untruths, lies.

If your 3rd cousin was interviewed and said ALL ts1227 females were whores and prostitutes and the publication knew it was untrue, it would be ok with you that it was printed, instead of ignored?

i wonder if you would be saying that if the program in question was LSU, florida, USC, or FSU. i didnt see any members of buckeye nation cuttin those schools any slack. but now the buckyeyes get caught with their hand in cookie jar and things should be over looked.

Well let's see. An unintelligent vengeful Ray Small tells the Lantern that EVERYONE on the Ohio State football team sells memorabilia and gets special deals on cars. The Lantern prints it knowing at best it's exaggerations at worst out and out lies.
    THEN
MANY highly regarded former players say thete KNOW with CERTAINTY that Small is lying. The Lantern doesn't print their story.
    THEN
Ray Small realizes his ignorance is overwhelming his better judgement and wants to change his story. The Lantern doesn't grant another interview. They choose to stay with the story that they know are exaggerations and lies.

The Lantern is worse than MoveON.org.
  • karen lotz
The guys who wrote the story said they reached out to quite a few ex players/players and Small was the only one to respond to them.

Hmmmmm, LOLOL... you don't find it a little unusual that only an unintelligent vengeful Ray Small was the only ex-player looking to plaster his face in the media and make a fool of himself???

I think you're overlooking that the Lantern article didn't really make it seem like they believed him, they just reported it. People report stupid things people say all the time.

Where was your hatred when it was written that Pryor said "everyone kills, everyone steals". Obviously another gross overstatement yet it was still printed. Get at me when you have a counter argument.

No. He's an idiot. Obviously everyone else they reached out too was smart enough not to open their mouth. So now you're blaming the Lantern because Ray Small can't keep his mouth shut? I don't understand your logic at all it makes no sense.

I'm saying others were offered the chance to talk to The Lantern and declined. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

If they had a coach who did as much for the community, school and players as Tressel has over a 25 year career -- I'd say give him the same second chance.
