  Matta's biggest problem is he recruits too many 1 and done players. He has done an outstanding job turning the Buckeyes into a National contender in a short period of time and I wouldn't trade Matta for Self either.

  Yeah if you wanna count Self's 4 years at Oral Roberts...but he didn't enter big time coaching until his first year at Tulsa. ORU wasn't even in NCAA but for a few years, and were independent. how is he supposed to win conf. titles and enter the NCAA tourney without a conference?

  If Matta coached at an independent team for 4 years, I wouldn't count that as D1 major coaching.

  Because we're comparing their NCAA tournament resume's...how in the hell is Self supposed to make the NCAA tournament at Oral Roberts, who were just granted D1 status??? Win the AQ independent conference???

  He was a .500 coach. Maybe if he had coached his team to great regular seasons they could have received one of the at large bids.

  because every time I say that line, I don't include Donovan and everyone flips out...they freak when I say his 2 titles were because of that recruiting class...so I added him to please the masses.
