So first the horn sounds while shooting a free throw, then there was possibly a missed foul on the attempted catch, then the St Johns player takes 3 steps with the ball (2 of which were while he was out of bounds) with 1.7 seconds left, then he chucks the ball into the rafters. The refs do nothing and run back to the tunnel. SMH.

    That was just pathetic.

That is absolutely one of the worst no-calls(probably the worst) I have ever seen.

The Big East should be ashamed of themselves.
  • KR1245
How do you miss that call?

    Thats awful
  • wildcats20
They miss an obvious foul, travel and out of bounds. Unbelievable.

    That was shameful.

Can't wait for 'Cuse-Johnnies tomorrow afternoon.

Thats 3 calls in 4.9 seconds. 1 I can understand but not 3. Also before this decacle there was a foul when Rutgers drived to the hoop. I second the notion that this is the worst call ive ever seen.

They just said on SC that the play couldnt be reviewed because the refs didnt make a call.

Didnt that happen a few weeks ago in the Louisville vs Pitt game? The ref didnt make a call after the cheerleader tossed the ball in the ball, it wasnt until after the refs went back and saw that there was time on the clock that they called a tech. I might be wrong

I believe they can't review it because there was no whistle. In the Louisville game there was a whistle just not for the cheerleader, so they can review all aspects of the play even though they weren't actually looking for the tech.

Should have been Rutgers at the line for 2 FT's, then Rutgers ball out of bounds with 1.7 secs.

    No.

If they call the foul(not sure of the foul situation) and Rutgers was in the double bonus, then yes 2 FTs. If they DON'T call the foul, it's Rutgers ball on the side with 1.7.

It appears this trio of officials couldn't wait for that game either.

Loss of pay for the game and a very long suspension should be a guaranteed thing, because they rigged the outcome of a game.

Jim Burr is one of the worst officials in all of sport. An absolute embarrassment that this cadaver is still refereeing games, especially at such a high level. I am in no means a fan of either team and this particular series of events left me unabated in anger. Appalling.

My God, someone please start FireJimBurr.com and get this corpse and his accomplices fired from big time basketball. After this, they shouldn't be judging a finger paint contest.

I understand how the foul was not called but not the out of bounds. Horrible job

Yes, it should have been. 2 technical free throws and Rutgers ball.

Delay of game warning?????? No tech.

    Wrong.

The head of referees even came out and said no T was warranted.

"There is no penalty for exuberance if the kid thought it was the end of the game," Adams said. "It's his ball and he's not delaying anything. Also the coaches are walking toward each other. There was a presumption that the game was over but unfortunately it doesn't sound like it was."

Wouldn't have even been a delay of game warning.

The clock was STILL running. If I want to throw the ball up as high as I want with time still on the clock, I am 100% allowed.

It happened not that long ago where a player was going out of bounds and instead of throwing the ball back onto the court of play, he threw it straight up in the air to let the clock expire.

As it was called, the clock was running. How it should have been called though was to stop the clock when he went out of bounds. Then it would have been a delay of game warning.

IF the whistle blows, I highly doubt he throws the ball. Even if he does, it would have been a warning.

The whistle SHOULD have blown on the foul. Therefore the travel and him going out of bounds would never have happened.

And it really doesn't matter how it SHOULD have been called, it wasn't called that way. It was called as nothing and the clock was still running, hence why no T OR warning was given for throwing the ball up in the air
