Carolina Basketball Discussion Thread

ironman02Yeah, sounds like Trapani is single-handedly keeping BC in the game. Seems like that guy has been there for about 8 years.
I'm not able to see it live tonight, but you can tell Barnes is getting much more comfortable. He's not forcing shots, just finding good looks within the flow of the offense. He's definitely knocking down the shots that we all knew he could make. I'd really like to see Barnes and Bullock on the floor a lot together...very dangerous combo. -

Haha, it's all right. All the greats do it. That's precisely why I stopped making separate Duke threads for games. On the Huddle, Duke games for years, whether it was a game against North Carolina or against Airplane College, filled with conversation thread after thread. Last season on here, there were times when Duke would be playing NC State and I'd be talking to myself for 23 straight posts.wildcats20 wrote:And yes, I realize I am talking to myself currently.
People probably began to think I was either a) a hobo with a library card, b) devoid of any human contact, or c) bored as fuck.
But I prefer extremely dedicated and hard worker

wildcats20lol lol
That is really the only thing I truly miss from JJ. The College Bball Forum over there was filled with GREAT posters. -

I know it's just the Internet, but it's actually really sad to see the college basketball forum over there on virtual life support, with just seven threads and probably less than 40 total posts since the beginning of the new year. That place used to be the greatest place on the Web to talk and argue basketball as far as I'm concerned. Too bad the creators over there became what they did. -
wildcats20Unfortunately, I have become pretty bored with this game as the Heels lead by 20. Barnes is continuing to play well though.
Heels lead 72-51 with 11:50 left. -
wildcats20Welp, Carolina dominates this game from the 11 min mark in the first half until the end. Heels win 106-74.
Score over 100. Shoot 57% and 52% from 3. Held BC to 36% shooting. Barnes scores 26 and has 6 boards. Bullock finishes with 16(didn't need him in the 2nd). L Mac chips in with 9. Zeller puts in 19 and Henson got 13, typical night from the bigs.
A bright note for BC, Trapani scored 25 and had 15 boards. Great night for him. -
ironman02Very impressive performance by the Heels. It's tough to win on the road, and I certainly wasn't expecting a blow out like this.
16-5, 6-1 ACC. FSU comes to Chapel Hill on Sunday. Gotta defend the home court! -
reclegend22Impressive win for the Heels. They are playing well and seem to be clicking. Unpleasant news for a Duke fan.
March 5 in Chapel Hill one hell of a game is going to happen. (Although, right now, I wouldn't count out Feb. 9 as being a possible classic. You never know with this rivalry.) -

I agree, the College Bball forum was the reason I ever joined up on JJ. As much as I like the OC its Cbball forum doesnt have the same draw as JJ's did......although Rowdy isnt on here and thats a big time upside for the OC. -
swamisezI do my best to fill in for Rowdy Rider whenever possible.
I figured this forum would pick up a bit from OSU being "a little better than decent", but it really doesn't swell outside of OSU in-game threads. -
karen lotzDrew II has left the team and will transfer. Odd timing considering the team has been playing well as of late.

wildcats20He's been playing better but only because Roy saw the light with Kendal
-
wildcats20I was a big fan of his coming in to Carolina. Then I saw him play.
-
wildcats20Also I wouldn't be surprised to see him wind up in Georgia somewhere so he can be close to daddy.

ironman02Carolina continued its winning ways today, hammering FSU 89-69. Kendall Marshall set a UNC record for an ACC game, dishing out 16 assists in his first game as THE leader of the Heels.
Carolina now stands at 17-5 overall, 7-1 in ACC play, and now they're heading to Hansbrough Indoor Stadium on Wednesday for a battle with the dookies. -
swamiseznot gonna lie, I am getting a little worried about Wednesday. Then again I was worried last year both times as well.

Speaking of Indiana, I have to say I have never seen a fan base so passionately support a struggling team. The Hoosiers still fill Assembly Hall for every home game, and the place is always rocking. (By contrast, Ohio State couldn't even fill up the Schottenstein Center for its big game at home against Purdue.)

wildcats20Off topic obviously...
But Sheehey's dunk on Saturday was absolutely filthy. -

Larry who? -

This.
I am not surprised one bit that Kendall played as well as he did Sunday. I haven't seen the game yet, but I know I'm gonna be very happy with what I see. -

Yes it was...from another thread:
Even though Indiana lost, this dunk deserves this post.
Freshman Will Sheehey:

wildcats20He took the dribble and I was like OK, a foul line pull up...and then he did that.
-
september63I liked Tom Pritchards dunk just as much. Imagine Indiana having 2 white guys with dunks like that, within a week?
