    Carolina wins 75-65.

Clemson is now 0-55 all time in Chapel Hill.

    THE STREAK LIVES!!!

Great win for the Heels. Of course they had to make it interesting down the stretch, but they got it done in crunch time. 13-5, 3-1 ACC.

    LOL.

Looks like I didn't get here in time. Damn. Carolina rolling.

Defense really played well the last 10 minutes. Nice to see. Held the Tigers to 25% in the 2nd half and 35.2% for the game. THAT is how you win ball games.

Still very sloppy on the offensive end, but it was enough tonight to get a dubya.

Bullock was big with 18 points tonight. Went cold in the second half, but he finally seems to have some confidence.

Barnes turned the ball over a lot, but he came up with some clutch buckets when the Heels really needed them.

Henson was solid as usual, Zeller made some big plays down the stretch, and Drew II seems to be much more comfortable coming off the bench.

My feed kept going in and out, so I was about ready to die, but it was worth it.

Tough road test at Miami next Wednesday. Really need a "W" in that one too.

Without Smith we are dead in the water. He is one of our better defenders. Narcisse (rec specs) is alright (actually he is a great kid, I have had some drinks with him) but we have no depth without Smith. I will give Brownell props for doing OK with what is the least talented team Clemson has seen in 5-6 years. No size down low and moderate shooters.

At least we are involved in one ncaa record lol. I wasn't expecting a W tonight, so not too mad about it.

You don't say? ;) Probably the only way one can approach a game they haven't won since before TV.

I was cheering for you, though. One of these days..

2 pts in the last 7 mins after tying it up probably isn't the way to go...

I can't get over how many open looks the Tigers missed last night.

Wide open jumpers, constantly clanging off the front end.

I can't remember a time when I saw so many poor shooting ACC teams. Between Wake, Clemson, GaTech, VaTech they could build a pretty nice house with the bricks.

Yeah, Brownell is recruiting shooters now. The problem is that under Purnell, we only recruited athletes to run the press. I like the new system, we just need new players.

Harrison Barnes nailed a triple as the shot clock expired to give Carolina a 74-71 lead over Miami with less than 7 seconds to go and the Heels were able to hang on for the win.

Carolina trailed by as many as 14 points, I believe, in the first half before coming back to tie the game at 39 at the break. A back and forth battle ensued during the 2nd half, but the Heels were able to withstand a 13-28 performance by the Canes from beyond the arc, and pick up their 4th ACC win of the season. The Heels are now 14-5 overall, 4-1 in the ACC, which has them tied with FSU and dook in the loss column.

Barnes shot terribly but hit 2 HUGE jumpers for the Heels tonight.

Carolina's defense was phenomenal during the comeback in the first half. Then it slacked off and got better towards the end of the game.

This team is making strides, just can't have a Ga. Tech setback again.
  • ironman02
Barnes is still struggling to find his shot, but when it's all on the line, he's pretty damn clutch.

The defensive intensity needs to be there for 40 minutes. When it's there, this team is actually pretty good on the defensive end.

Gotta beat State on Saturday, because after that, things get rough. At BC, FSU at home, at dook, at Clemson. That's one hell of a stretch of games, especially playing three of them on the road.
  • Big Gain
Barnes would do better in Brownell's system.
  • ironman02
Carolina took care of State today, 84-64.

Barnes had his best game as a Tar Heel, scoring 25 points on 10-16 shooting. John Henson had a monster game with 16 points, 16 rebs, 7 blks, and 3 assts.

The Heels are now 15-5, 5-1 in the ACC. A trip to Chestnut Hill to face BC on Tuesday will be the beginning of a pivotal stretch of games. A 5-5 finish to the regular season should get Carolina in the tournament, but I'm obviously hoping for much better than that.

    Soooo....

I had this whole post about the game tonight typed out and I swear I hit submit...oh well

Carolina goes to Chesnut Hill tonight for the start of a tough stretch of games for the Heels. It's not on National TV, but I do have it on theacc.com again. Not sure if it will work for you I02, but it is for me again.

Not really sure what to expect, I really know nothing about BC.
  • wildcats20
BC up 11-6 at the under 16 timeout.

They've hit 3 3's. Carolina has a couple of easy transition buckets and should have at least 1 more but Drew made a bad decision in trying a circus type lay up instead of tossing it up to Henson.
  • wildcats20
Bullock is feeling it again. Just a nice lil personal 9-0 run.

Must be because I am watching online again lol
  • wildcats20
Zeller has had about 3 steals in a row, the last leading to a big dunk from Henson.

    Heels lead 35-22.
  • wildcats20
Heels defense since about the 11 minute mark has been outstanding. Forcing TO's and getting out and running. Really looks like a classic Tar Heels team.

Heels up 14 now on a dunk by Strickland. Bullock has 14 on 5/6(4/5 3fg) shooting.
  • wildcats20
Heels up 39-27 at the under 4.
  • wildcats20
Knox with a nice move in transition to get an And 1.

He has been a real, real nice addition to this Tar Heel team. I don't normally like the NCAA grad school transfer rule, but I do in this case lol

And yes, I realize I am talking to myself currently.
  • wildcats20
Heels lead 49-35 at half. 59% shooting, 7 3's, Barnes has 12 and Bullock has 14. They are a combined 10/13 shooting and 6/8 from 3.
  • ironman02
I'm following online, but not able to actually watch the game.

How about Bullock and Barnes? They're lighting it up! Looks like the freshmen are finally getting used to the college game.

Solid second half and the Heels will get win #16.
  • wildcats20
Harrison finally looks comfortable on the floor. He is hitting shots that I expected him to hit from the get go. 1 dribble pull ups, catch and release type shots, and IMO has become the "go to" guy for the Heels.

Reggie Bullock's stroke looks great tonight. Very, very similar to the Clemson game. I hope that he can keep it up in the 2nd half, better than he did against the Tigers.

For BC, Joey Trapani is having a real, real nice game.
