Recruits that have been offered by both OSU AND MICHIGAN generally are from Ohio/Michigan/Pa. What kid is going to want to commit to OSU, knowing of some kind of punishment against the football program?vball10set;788391 wrote:^^^no it won't....very seldom does a recruit's decision come down to OSU/tsun (Gant was never offered by OSU) -

Kyle Kalis, Bri'onte Dunn... -

Kalis had to be talked into staying, and Dunn isn't a sure thing. -

Neither of them are a 100% sure thing. However, they are both commits with OSU and UM offers who remain committed at this point. That was the issue. -

I understand. But TatGate has made them shaky commits. And they are probably only commits because they committed before the big shit hit the fan. -
OneBuckeye14 commits 1 kid not from Michigan or Ohio. Looks more like a UM recruiting class to me. How many Scholarships are there left for the 2012 class? I have asked before but I forgot. How do you guys expect to finish out the class?

They are hoping to get a full 25 this year. -
bo shemmy3337I am thinking about 22 or 23. It should be a top 15 class though IMO.

karen lotzMichigan got a commitment from a 4* DE out of Mentor, OH today. Don't recall the name off the top of my head but had some good size/speed. 6'6" and 4.8 40.

Mentor, Ohio, defensive end Tom Strobel. -
WebFireMichigan picked up a commitment from 4* Mentor, Ohio, defensive end Tom Strobel today.
-
WebFireHot off the wire, Michigan picked up a 2nd commit today in Carlsbad (Calif.) Las Costa Canyon offensive tackle Erik Magnuson, another 4* prospect.
-
daveTom Strobel. Michigan over OSU, ND, Stanford, Nebraska.
Grew up a Buckeye fan, first of many recruits Hoke will land that probably would have played for Tressel. -
daveBig time recruits starting to come in now
Strobel chose Michigan over OSU, ND, Stanford, Nebraska.

Magnuson was recruited early by SDSU, had offers from ND, Oklahoma, Stanford, Oregon. -
dat dudeHoke couldn't have possibly fell into a better spot. OSU scandal, Tressel resigning and the fact that Ohio is loaded with talent this year is extremely fortunate.
First year coaching transition is always rough, though. IIRC, the spring game was pretty brutal. Still a few years away from the rivalry getting real interesting again, imo. -

One thing about the spring game though...they treated like a regular practice and worked on the stuff they needed work on. So yeah, it wasn't pretty.dat dude;798538 wrote:Hoke couldn't have possibly fell into a better spot. bigkahunaAccording to ESPN, we have the #6 ranked class for this year. It's the highest ranked class for the B1G.
Hoke and company are doing Great Things. -

That is good, but many don't put much stock into ESPN's recruiting stuff. Hoke and Co. aren't done yet. Should land some more 4* players, and they have a 5* OL visiting this weekend. -
Trueblue23I want Shittu, 5* DT who is a MONSTER.

I know what you're saying, but it's just nice to see Michigan ranked that high in anything because we haven't seen it in awhile. When was the last time we had a top 10 class? -

I agree! -
Tobias FünkeIn 2009 Michigan's class was ranked #8 by Rivals.
2008's class was ranked #10, 2007's was ranked #12, 2006's class was ranked #13. Recruiting woes haven't been happening for very long.
Even the 2010 and 2011 classes were ranked in the top 25. -

RRod was going after the wrong players, and too many damn slots! -
WebFireThe 2010 class wasn't good. Zero 5* and five 4*, one of which didn't qualify.
