Quick poll before the game....Win or lose, will Rich Rod have the job at Michigan Monday morning? Interested to see the results of this poll....
  • cbus4life
Figured i would start this so all the talk and rumors and announcements can go in one place.

I would imagine they wait till Tuesday to fire RRod so that it doesn't put Harbaugh in an odd position before his bowl game?

    What is everyone hearing?
  • Scarlet_Buckeye
AT THE VERY LEAST, Greg Robinson HAS to be FIRED as soon as this game ends. This is pathetic.
  • Hb31187
I dont care who coaches us, as long as Greg Robinson is not on the fucking coaching staff
  • Trueblue23
The entire staff will be gone, with the exception of Rod Smith.
  • Automatik
I've heard rumblings that Harbaugh is headed to San Fran.
  • krambman
Monday morning? Yes. Tuesday morning? No. Tomorrow's a Sunday, so no decision will be made tomorrow and he'll still be the coach when he goes into the office Monday morning. By the time he leaves the office Monday afternoon we won't be.

I have a feeling a lawyer is already working on that buyout
  • Manhattan Buckeye
Can't see how they keep him, it would be one thing if there was a showing of improvement. However, that isn't the case. The program isn't moving in the right direction.

Unfortunately, I can see them getting Harbaugh.

    In the post-game presser:

Rodriguez: We (coaching staff) are paid to do a job and we did it as well as we could have, with some obstacles.

    Wow.
  • darbypitcher22
a lawyer has already gotta be working on that buyout
  • darbypitcher22
getting blasted in their last 3 contest had to have sealed his fate
  • Manhattan Buckeye
Obviously Harbaugh is the target, if he goes to the NFL I could see a push for Patterson or one of the NFL castaways.
  • darbypitcher22
whoever it is needs to bring them back a defense that plays 4 down linemen to at least give them a shot against the run

This is the third time (that I've seen) you have posted this. What is the lawyer working on? The buyout was already in the contract and its been widely reported that it dropped from $4 million to $2.5 million today.

Making sure all the I's are dotted and T's are crossed and that its printed and on the desk to be signed when he gets back to Ann Arbor
  • karen lotz
Pretty sure all the i's are dotted already, its the contract that was signed when he took the job.

Also, you don't dot capital I's.

The situation reminds me kind of the Browns situation with Mangini. I actually think bringing RichRod back for one more season wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, but like Mangini he has this stubborn obsession with Robinson at D-Coordinator that Mangini does with Daboll as O-Coordinator that just makes your head want to explode.

The failure/refusal to cut ties with bad coordinators will do Rodriguez in because you can't have a head coach that values loyalty to bum assistants over furthering the goals of the team when it is clear that said assistant is way in over his head.

Just as Mangini has allowed Daboll to cost him his job, Rodriguez has allowed Greg Robinson to cost him his when in both cases the firing of the head coach could have been avoided most likely had they come out and removed the problem assistants before it doomed them to a disastrous season.

I do believe in order for this to be true, the University had to give RRod 30 days written notice.

Maybe they did 30 days ago. Could explain his emotion at the team banquet as well as the rumors he has already talked to Maryland. Its not often a coach at a school like Michigan is rumored to get a job at a Maryland.

There's no doubt about his being a "Michigan man" if he leaves Stanford and that part of the country for Ann Arbor.
