Terrelle Pryor, please stop talking....
-
vball10setlet's see--an insecure stalker starts the thread, then is followed by a story (surprise, surprise) from an ND fan who hates Pryor to begin with, and continues on with comments from tsun fans who have every reason to hate on him...I do agree that sometimes he talks before he thinks, but a lot of times (like most people in the public eye) these comments are taken out of context. TP will go down as one of the most successful QB's to ever wear the Scarlet & Gray, and I guess this venom comes with the territory, but it just pisses me off when a scab like cats gone wild posts shit like this

Now there is an interesting discussion. What exactly does he have to do to make claim as the greatest OSU QB of all time? Who would you rank above him, currently? -
AutomatikI think his comments are dumb. Call me crazy, but I'm a fan of Pryor's "swagger."
Some people love to over analyze comments made by athletes. -
centralbucksfanWhats interesting to me here...is that many on on here bowed down to Troy Smith. A player who consistantly got into trouble, took money, then showed up to the title game overweight and causing major issues in the locker room. Has Pryor been perfect? Absolutely not. But if him coming out and saying a few things in the paper on occasion is the worst the guy is going to do, then big deal. Amazing what unrealiistic expectations do to some people. It turns fans against someone in a heartbeat.

I'm not even sure why you mentioned this? -

I would like to see how his tenure plays out as far was where he's ranked, but right now I'd have Troy Smith, Art Schlichter and Rex Kern above him--in my eyes. I know there's prolly stats that say different, but when I think of OSU quarterbacks, these stand out. What does he have to do? IMO, keep winning over 80% of his games, beat tsun again, and at the very least have OSU contend for the NC.thedynasty1998;593915 wrote:Now there is an interesting discussion. Obviously this would be something of personal opinion, but I think it's interesting to see where people think he stacks up and what criterion is used.
Krenzel won a national championship. Was he a better QB?
Smith had as much team success and a Heisman.
Bobby Hoying was a damn good QB and played in the NFL.
Joe Germaine had a great senior season, but was only a full time starter one season.
That's as far as my memory goes, but one could make the case that all 4 are better than Pryor or that Pryor is the best of the group. -
vball10setexcellent points, and I'd be interested how different posters view this as well...good post
-
AutomatikIt would be hard to label him as the "best" without a national title or Heisman IMO. But he will definitely be up there the great QBs at OSU....there is no doubt about that.
His stats speak for themselves and he still has a season to go. -
jordo212000Not a fan of his comments, especially the part where he blamed the offense for him having lesser stats than Newton. Definitely came off as arrogant and immature with those comments. He really needs to be quiet though. Every time he speaks, he usually inserts foot into his mouth (see Mike Vick comments- "everybody murders people", etc)

There's nothing wrong with having some swagger, but as you mentioned he says something stupid as hell every time he talks which always overshadows his confidence. -
elbuckeye28It seems that a lot of you did not read the actual article and instead just read the the original post. It was actually a Pro-Pryor article and here are some more quotes to put it into context.
Pryor is not revered like Auburn's Cam Newton. He's not the equal of Dan Persa, Denard Robinson or Scott Tolzien, according to the all-conference voting. But as a starter at Ohio State, he's 30-4. He would like you to remember this. It's imperative to note that Pryor doesn't begrudge anyone else their success, offering congratulations to Newton, Persa and Robinson on their seasons. And he is grounded enough to assess the reasons why he shouldn't jump to the NFL, flatly saying, "I think I need to grow up a little more as a quarterback."
Nowhere does he throw his team under the bus or imply that he wishes he was at a different school. I mean we talk every year how teams like Hawaii and Texas Tech(with Leach) pad the stats of the QB and that their offenses aren't a true measure of a QB. Yet, with wide open offenses that rely on the QB running, we do not consider that they pad the stats a bit too.But the philosophy of judging the position has him perplexed.
"People get into the statistical thing, and at the end of the day, what's the statistic that really matters?" Pryor said. -
vball10set^^^thank you for posting this...maybe the chickenshit scumbag that started this thread will read it

Um this is OhioChatter, where people read one thing and interpret or "spin" it as something else. -
Con_AlmaI don't think the "chickenshit scumbag that started this thread" shared an opinion regarding whether he felt the article was pro or con regarding Pryor. I also don't think the OP stated he felt Mr. Pryor threw his team under the bus nor that he might wish to be on another team.

First of all, I never said that CGW said any of that. I made the post responding to various comments that have been expressed throughout the thread as it was obvious some did not read the whole article. As for CGW not stating his opinion, I think a title that says "Terrelle Pryor, please stop talking...." implies a lot about his opinion. -

What does TS have to do with any of this? Every time you struggle making a point you make ridiculous comparisons that have nothing to do with the topic. Why even bring up Newton? And how can you bash him? The cameras are all over him during the games simply because he has been freaking unreal in every one of his games, not to mention he has nothing but a positive attitude on the sidelines and everyone seems to love him. I think Newton is embracing his attention quite well, tbh.
I agree Pryor has crazy unreal expectations, but it obviously isn't helping him with the comments that are always popping up. He chose OSU knowing exactly what type of offense JT runs, so its irrelevant to compare yourself to Newton and the others getting all the publicity. Wasn't it just a week ago that he was basically bitching in his tweets about the Big 10 awards? You can defend him all you want, but at some point the dude just needs to shut up. If he's as great as he thinks he is, he should "dominate college football" regardless of the offense he's in. -

"First of all", I didn't say you said anything.
In addition, the OP is clear in stating his opinion in my view. Any implications are overshadow but the definitive statement he makes. -

Seems to me you misinterpreted who I was talking about.I also don't think the OP stated he felt Mr. Pryor threw his team under the bus nor that he might wish to be on another team. -
Con_AlmaWhat?
My only response to you was when you addressed me directly which is why I posted " I didn't say you said anything". I haven't interpreted anything you were talking about.
My post was a response to vballset's post and even that wasn't directed to him. It was an addition of my thoughts. -
SpeedofsandI didn't read the link yet, but those quotes are dissing his own offense. He is a legend of stories in his own time though.

With all due respect, my comment regarding CGW had nothing to do with this at all---it had to do with him starting an out-of-context thread like this just to stir up trouble. He not only has a history of doing this, but also of trolling OSU threads to see how much consternation he can cause.Con_Alma;594050 wrote:I don't think the "chickenshit scumbag that started this thread" shared an opinion regarding whether he felt the article was pro or con regarding Pryor. Hb31187If a player from any other school came out and said something this arrogant, every Buckeye fan on the board would eat him alive. But since its TP its okay?
