Terrelle Pryor, please stop talking....

jordo i can tell you live no where near columbus if you did you would know signed jerseys are hanging at places all over the city
LOL okay? I hope nothing went down, but how can you not see my point/fear? TP "borrowed" a couple of different really nice cars from a dealership who just happens to own memoribilia signed by TP? We all know TP isn't above doing the stuff like this if it benefits him. The whole thing is fishy.

I had heard somewhere that this dealership didn't even have a place which repairs cars? Is that true

Still wouldn't mean much as they could be subbing out their repair work. Lots of places sub out work.

really nice? He drove a used 5 year old Denali and a Dodge of some sort. Nice, but not like he was crusin around in Hummers

And the place he had the Denali from was Jack Maxton, I did a 4 day test drive there once when I was 22. Like I said earlier, some salesmen just don't give a shit.

And its normal for a 19 or 20 year old to be able to test drive a Denali from Columbus to Jeanette, PA?

I understand the autographs on the walls at bars/barbershops/restaurants (I've seen that at those types of places outside of Columbus) but again why at a car dealership? Why are so many players from the team going to one car dealership? One line of defense being used in the selling scandal or whatever you want to call it is these players don't have any money so why would they be test driving cars?
  • ytownfootball
    Because they can?

Now they shouldn't be able to shop like most people?

If it wasn't this dealership it would be another...who cares really?

And...again, you're not so naive to think this is strictly an OSU thing are you?

I told you I test drove a car from Maxton for 4 days when I was 22 and still in college. It was a brand new chevy z71, stickered for more than a 5 year old Denali would.
  • jordo212000
I don't know. Like I said, everything that has come out so far says that there were no "violations", however I have to admit I am a little nervous about the whole thing.
  • ytownfootball
Well, if "violations" for Pryor come out fine, I don't give a shit anyway, don't think he should play another down at Ohio State anyhow.

ditto. This thing, the tattoos and gold pants selling (paired with the "no money" excuse), and constant Herbstreit bashing have really made me sour on TP. Oh, and somebody else already pointed out that TP said he was going to be purchasing a brand new car in the investigation of Loaner-gate...but just a week earlier his family had no money? How does that work haha

No I don't think its strictly an OSU thing. Where does Pryor play and where are the dealerships being discussed?

Jesus I'm not saying they can't shop. What I'm trying to say that you are having a tough time with is how are they supposed to be able to afford a car? Everyone says how they come from poverty etc etc when they get busted for selling stuff, but magically they have money as a college student with no job to be car shopping? You don't think that's a little odd? You can't have it both ways.

Good for you? Would your eligibility be in question for that or for selling any gifts or awards that were given to you?

Maybe this point will be better comprehended coming from you since you are an OSU fan.

I show you that the dealership in question lets people take cars on long test drives and that is what you come back with? LOL

Maybe players should have been under investigation because of my dad's apartment complex where dozens of players lived and they had tons of signed jersies and footballs in the rental office. You're barking down the wrong tree.

Maybe he was going to get a long term loan on a $23k used car? HAR HAR HAR

Wow, if this happens anywhere else, you guys would be all over this shit. TP and company do it and it's ok.

Maybe if they GAVE him a car, or a lease with no payments.
  • ytownfootball
You're not going to find a lot of TP apologists around now, so if he did something shitty, fine. Point is though, if the NCAA can't find any wrongdoing in shopping a kid for 180K and do find something wrong with a kid riding around in a 5 year old Denali, what's the real issue?
  • lhslep134
This situation is murky, just not dirty. IMO benefits were definitely stretched to the limit, just not the point that rules were broken.

Karen, there's no doubt in my mind that they didn't sell stuff because their families were poor, it was just a "conceivable" coverup, they just wanted some extra spending money which isn't absurd to consider as a college student.

There are different rules for scholarship athletes than there are for people like you. Do you not understand that?

And I think the phrase you are looking for is barking up the wrong tree, not down.

And how would that happen for a 19 year old? He has already said his family has no money.

Iguess you haven't been watching the back to the future Marathon like I have been rofl.

Anyways if a regular person can do it how is it an improper benefit? In other words it is proveable the he did not use his status to gain. Pretty simple

It could be had for $300/month or less.

LJ;623897 wrote:It could be had for $300/month or less.

so out of the $600 or so they get in monthly stipend, they get $300 for rent utilities etc and spending money? Sounds likely.
  • ytownfootball
    I get approved for say 150K home loan...they don't give a fuck whether I have to pay a utility bill...or a garbage bill...or eat

    what's different here?

You aren't a 19 year old college kid with no job, no credit, and no money. How are they supposed to get a loan with those parameters?
