Start a Holmes Co. thread so that you can talk to yourself and gloat about the mighty Knights and all that tradition and winning they have down there in Swartzentruber land!
Swartzentruber land? Really? SMH...more religious profiling on these message boards....everyone knows where that COULD go.
Its good hunting though, eh Old Rider? -
Old RiderGood hunting my friend! Also nice to just be out in God's country away from everything!
-
1_beastI do love it down there....fishing the kokosing aint too bad either
-
Old RiderI have fished the Kokosing down in the Nellie area around the "Blue Goose" and under the bridge on Rt 36..
-
RedRider1Riders lost by 6 to Massillon at the foundation scrimmage last night. Typical first scrimmage....lots to work on.
-
OQBHappy Thanksgiving to everyone, hope you all have a great day!
-
OQBRiders lose a close one to Shelby.

FlashDidn't get to the game, but seemed like even scoring among a number of players. We need an outside shooter and floor leader that can bring the ball up the court. Did we see one? If we didn't we need to make a change to find one, or find a ball handler and an outside shooter. Let's not wait until the end of the season to gel. I'm expecting a .500 season, but to get to that we need to speed the process of picking the best players.

I was at the football finals and didn't see this game, but from the looks of the boxscore it appears there were a lot of fouls shots by the Whippets, so I am guessing they attacked the basket and drew fouls. Also see we got beat on the boards and neither team shot very well. Turnovers , we only had 11 which doesn't seem to bad for the first time out, and actually made 8 more baskets 24 to 16, but the free throws were killers as they had 25 of 35 to our 4 of 6 outscoring the Riders by 21 from the line! -
OQBWinters has to avg 10-15 ppg this season if they want to have any success imo.

4 points just won't be a good game from him.OQB;1002167 wrote:Winters has to avg 10-15 ppg this season if they want to have any success imo. -
FlashDid we try to get the ball to him down low? He should get 3-4 slams every game.
-
Old RiderIf Im defending Orrville I simply pack it in the paint and force them to beat me from outside..simple enough and we have no outside shooters to pull a team out of a zone!
-
RedRider1If we're not a team with outside shooters, then we shouldn't be shooting 18 3's. Simple as that.
Devon should accidentally score 10 points and have 6 rebounds per game, just from stickbacks. -
RedRider1......and for anyone looking for predictions....I say 12-8 at best. We've already got 1 loss and have Hiland coming up...and two with Senior and road games in the OCC never seem to go well for us.
The focus should be on continuous improvement and defining rotations and roles. -
OQB
They need to find this out sooner rather than later.....so we don't have a repeat of last season!RedRider1;1002736 wrote:The focus should be on continuous improvement and defining rotations and roles.
I'm going to say this team will be 10-10 this year maybe win a game in the districts, but that's it. -
FlashOld Rider were playing, maybe you can show us that 3 pt. shot.
-
Old Rider
If I make a shot from that distance it should be worth more than 3! I may see down there Sunday..Flash;1002889 wrote:Old Rider were playing, maybe you can show us that 3 pt. shot. -

I think it will. I say Mid-January..right before you play Senior and Lexington on the road. Need to your players on the floor...dont care if they're freshman & sophomores....The best 5 should be on the floor.OQB;1002816 wrote:They need to find this out sooner rather than later.....so we don't have a repeat of last season!

OQBI think so too, I just think we have to do a better job of getting the right group of guys on the court....regardless of any outside factors other than Basketball!

Agree.RedRider1;1002964 wrote:I think it will. I say Mid-January..right before you play Senior and Lexington on the road. Need to your players on the floor...dont care if they're freshman & sophomores....The best 5 should be on the floor. -
RRRockI think the Riders have some shooters Perez and Smith can shot it, the Summers kid is not bad either. But yes Winters should average a double double every game IMO.
-
otownexpertOrrville fans be patient. This team has a lot more potential than people might think. We need to get Winters going inside and I disagree that we cant score from the outside. Perez seems more confident and his stroke looks good. Landis is much improved and can hit the mid-range. Summers is shooting the ball real well and is strong. Summers might work his way into the starting line-up sometime this season IMO. When Smith gets back into the groove I think we have many threats from the outside. It could take 1/3 of the season to find the right mix but we have the players. Ray and Turner need to stay with passing to the open man and NOT shoot jumpers. Their game is penetration, assists and hustle. Brenner needs to play within himself and just be athletic and do what Drew does. That's my scoop on this team!
-
ridernationI have a question, how many true basketball players are there on this team? It seems we have more athletes than basketball players every year.
-
riders1That question could be asked about alot of area teams, not just Orrville, as the number of true basketball players on most teams is few but the biggest difference is in the amount of athletes on teams, while Orrville seems to have a lot of athletes year after year and few that just play basketball and have talent.
