I caught you lying about Ubaldo's run support. You gonna apologize? Or are you going to keep your reputation here as a liar. Ball's in your court.pnhasbeen;1173911 wrote:Wait, you are wrong. Your entire thread was awful. You don't know everything. In fact, as Mooney said, you have been proven wrong many times on this very thread and just try to sidestep and divert. As usual, I have to beat down the fraudulant posters here.
Hell, I'd have a better record than Ubaldo with that kind of run support.
You're right I did lie. I adjusted my quote down below.Footwedge;1176378 wrote:I caught you lying about Ubaldo's run support. You gonna apologize? Or are you going to keep your reputation here as a liar. Ball's in your court.
I can explain to you how I got those numbers if you want...pnhasbeen;1173904 wrote:Ubaldo starts, Indians win, 7.5 runs per game
Ubaldo starts, Indians lose, ~3.2 runs per game
His run support isn't that great wedge.
His total run support is 5.3, but if you break it down to when they win or lose. When they lose, they don't hit. It's that simple. You want him to hold a team to 1-2 runs every time? The most runs the Indians have scored in a game they LOST with Ubaldo pitching is 5(5/11 @ Bos). They've had 2 twice(4/25 vs KC and 5/1 @ CHW). They also had 4(4/7 vs TOR).
Now when they win, they've exploded twice for 13(4/15 @ KC) and just recently 9 (5/16 vs SEA). They also won 4-2(5/6 vs TEX) and 4-3(4/20 @ OAK).
If we ignore the large outliers, Ubaldo's total run support is only 3.5. So you see, if we use simple math we can show that Ubaldo's run support isn't that great and it is WORSE in games they lose.
Now, this isn't saying Ubaldo is really good. This is just saying you're a little senile thinking "you could be 5-2 with his run support." -
lhslep134pnhasbeen it's not worth your time. We're talking about someone who incorrectly formulated percentiles and then spent 2 days making himself look even more like a f*cking retard trying to argue his way around it.
like_that, saw the duane wade thread. Too funny.
At this point I have to imagine that maybe footwedge isn't as stupid as we think he just pretends to be that way, because I can't imagine someone is actually as dumb as the posts are that come from that screename. -

A guy that goes 0/6 with 4 Ks and 5 errors can make the front page too. During a normal week, I compose and type 8 to 10 formal quotations to potential customers totaling between 60 to 90 thousand dollars. I don't trust the office personnel to do this. Lesson learned from way back...when I do it, it's done professionally and correctly. I happen to work for the largest company in my particular industry in the state. I, by far and away, lead the company in both sales dollars and closing rates. If you don't know what a closing rate is, just ask.
On an anonymous chat board...such as this....I don't give a shit what is misspelled. For a 21 year old kid, you sure think you know a lot. Well guess what? Until you go out and earn a living, you don't know shit. -

Tribe averages 4.39 runs a game and Ubaldo has been the beneficiary of 5.375 runs per game.pnhasbeen;1177073 wrote:Wedgie, why didn't you comment on me correcting that minor error? -
hoops23Wedgie, why does Masterson have a 5.04 ERA?

Again, take out the two outliers wedgie. They hurt averages. -
Footwedge
Because that's what the math says? BTW, in case you or Schlep134 wants to know, Ubaldo receives 22.3% more run support than the tribe average. The actual average is even lower if Ubaldo's numbers were subsetted out of the picture. So, in other words, Ubaldo has received more than a full run per start in support versus the rest of the staff.hoops23;1177111 wrote:Wedgie, why does Masterson have a 5.04 ERA?
Poor Schlep...he'll have his calculator out till 4 in the morning trying to figure it out..
Now, back to Masterson. So far, he's having a poor year. His ERA is still above the Ubaldo line which is not good. But here's the difference. We gave up 2 potential aces with the emphasis on potential. We gave up Victor for Haggedone and Masterson. That...was a good trade. Victor is not even with Boston...and...he's on the DL. As much as I liked Victor, he was a horrible liability behind the plate and on the bases.
I'm not happy with Masterson this year. Who is? But the trade we made last year is hard for me to accept. I expect Masterson to turn it around. -
Footwedge
I know what you're sayin', but not gonna do that. When calculating ERA's, nobody gets a mulligan. Conversely, when a batter goes o-fer 9 in a DH, he doesn't get a mulligan either.pnhasbeen;1177135 wrote:Again, take out the two outliers wedgie. They hurt averages. -

If you don't want to do that then using an average for run support isn't very significant. -

Allow me to play doubles advocate here for a moment. For all intensive purposes I think you are wrong. In an age where false morals are a diamond dozen, true virtues are a blessing in the skies. We often put our false morality on a petal stool like a bunch of pre-Madonnas, but you all seem to be taking something very valuable for granite. So I ask of you to mustard up all the strength you can because it is a doggy dog world out there. -
