I think you need to develop the individual sports forums more. I know JJhuddle (I know you guys hate that site) had 50-100 regular posters on the soccer forum who made that sub forum very popular around ohio and would get 200-300 visitors a week at least (I havent been a mod in forever so I forget the number)

That's an effective way to do it, but honestly, a site that is just "the same" with a surplus of traffic will also benefit similarly.

It's cool. As it stands, everything in IM (Internet Marketing) currently has its place. Twitter marketers are different from social media marketers are different from forum marketers, blog marketers, email marketers, paid search marketers, SEO marketers, media buying marketers, etc.

Forums bring an option for long-term discussion, long exposition, and structured niches and sub-niches for discussion. Twitter really doesn't work for much other than short-term (week tops?) discussion of quick blurbs, one-liners, sound bites, etc. Facebook status update is nearly the same, but with the addition of other things like games, "likes," and such.

However, in that they all do lend themselves to SOME form of discussion, you're correct.

After reading that post I believe Justin should start his own Social Network. Maybe call it Google Plus. That has a nice ring. Like Google and Plus something else. That can't fail.

Not really. I played around with some google and facebook ads but it didn't really work. I also can't really afford to do much advertising.

One thing that would help get people into the HS sports forums would be to advertise in school sports programs. Unfortunately I don't have the resources for that. It would take "donations" from members putting an ad in their schools program. But, I have no idea how much something like that would cost and it anyone would want to do it.

Any other ideas?

I know my HS came out with a Fall/Winter/Spring sports book for every season. Would have team capsules and everything, but also there were obviously ads in them. You could try that, I don't think it cost that much. I am sure you won't be going to football games, but you can create a flier and have some posters who go to games volunteer to pass them out. I should have offered that during wrestling season, because there is always a table with fliers and brouchers at every wrestling tournament. It never really crossed my mind though. My B.
