Ok. I suppose claims do not have to be proven. That's simply not how the world works, only in religion can you make a claim and base its validity on whether someone can disprove it or not.Raw Dawgin' it;1057400 wrote:lol you are such a politician. -

No. That's not my position at all.
Are you suggesting that I can't believe "whatever I want" though? -

No, I think you should be able to believe whatever it is you want. Whether its illogical is all I'm trying to argue. Like I've posted on this thread alone about 8 times, I find it hilarious that whenever presented with an irrefutable logical statement believers are quick to point out their right to believe what they want to believe. It's embarrassing.Con_Alma;1057426 wrote:Whatever I want??

shut up idiot, it's because you constantly ask for them and then when someone doesn't give you one you say some bullshit about logic and reasoning...like you're doing now.sleeper;1057432 wrote:Apparently, I am the only person on these forums who has to provide links to everything that I say. This essay has presented what social scientists currently know about atheists and secularpeople in relation to personal and societal well-being. The numerous studies cited aboveprovide information about who tends to be irreligious as well as what atheists and secularpeople tend to believe and do.

I certainly hope you don't think I have pointed to any such right, nor have I referred to one. Even if such a belief is illogical, what it is the end game in arguing such? Is it to change the view of such a believer to a logic based opinion? -

I read enough to know it is a study about proclaimed atheists and agnostics. It has nothing to do with people who claim to be believers only doing so to be accepted.sleeper;1057441 wrote:Really? You read the entire study in 3 minutes? LOL

SMH. Clearly, you are unable to use logic and reason, using facts, to infer the correct claim. If you truly believe that people do not mask there religious beliefs to be accepted by society at large, than I cannot help you.LJ;1057447 wrote:I read enough to know it is a study about proclaimed atheists and agnostics. Clearly, you have no studies to back up your claim that the "majority " of believers only make the claim to be accepted. I never said anywhere that there are not people that do that. I am only saying your claim is bullshit, and the study you linked makes no such claim. -

I don't dismiss that this may and probably does exist. I am under the assumption that I cannot change someone's mind especially when it comes to their own personal religious beliefs. However, I am under the assumption that I can influence others that may read this post and decide that its okay to not believe in religion. In fact, using logic and reason, one can easily defend an atheist perspective rather than a believer's point of view. I don't argue for YOUR personal benefit, I argue for the benefit of others in the hope that society can release these regressive and indefensible beliefs.Con_Alma;1057446 wrote:I certainly hope you don't think I have pointed to any such right, nor have I referred to one.
