I woudn't be scared of Lesean McCoy at all. He is going to be a monster. I think though, with people taking gambles on the last rounds of picks, drafting backup QB's like Johnny Manziel, it may pay to take a flyer on someone with as much upside as Sproles. I didn't know if he is actually being drafted at all though, my draft is Saturday.
  • Dr. KnOiTaLL
He was drafted in my league, but we use return yards as well, so he's always been a hot name that got overlooked.

Killing time at work before I head to the golf course.

Seems solid. Looks like you got hosed a bit on your 2nd round pick.

    What say you?
I don't really like this team so it will probably be great. No elite WRs/RBs. Banking on a couple guys coming off of injuries to be key for you. I think I would like this team more if you would have went elite WR at 11 (Bryant, Marshall, Thomas, Green should have been there. Calvin probably gone) and then a tier 2 QB later...especially considering you have to start 3 WRs.

    RB - Reggie Bush
    TE - Jordan Cameron
    Flex - Golden Tate
    Defense - Baltimore
Kicker - Mike Nugent (always pick him last for nostalgia)

    Bench - Colin Kaepernick
    Bench - Ben Tate
    Bench - Pierre Thomas
    Bench - Danny Woodhead
    Bench - Riley Cooper
Bench - Allen Hurns (why not, stud in preseason)
I don't mind this team. I haven't played in a 10 team league in years so I don't know what 'good' really is in a 10 team league. In leagues with return yards, Patterson projects top 8 depending on how many points you get. Dez is top 4 easy. Montee Ball should be good PPR and if Allen continues where he was last year, your WRs will be sick.

I would assume this is a top 3 team in a 14 team league. Romo is an absolute steal at 89. I would love to lol at some of the QBs drafted before him. Healthy, he could be top 4 fantasy QB this year.
lhslep134;1648227 wrote:I was not pleased in my draft. I didn't really have a choice but to take Brees in the 2nd and I really wanted to wait on a QB.

    QB
(2)Drew Brees. Best available were: Doug Martin, Antonio Brown, Jordy Nelson

    RB
    (1) McCoy: keeper at 6
    (5) Rashad Jennings
    (8) Ben Tate
    (9) Lamar Miller
    (11) Carlos Hyde
    (13) Devonta Freeman

    WR
    (3) Vincent Jackson

    (6) Mike Wallace
    (10) Kelvin Benjamin
    (12) Justin Hunter

    TE
    (7) Kyle Rudolph
I think you are fine. Playoff team for sure. Do you get return yards? Tate could easily take over for Jennings in your starting lineup but Jennings is going to be the work horse in New York. Shady will be excellent. Brees is awesome. I targeted Rudolph/Reed in all my leagues if Jimmy Graham didn't fall into my lap. I have never had Vincent Jackson but he is always so solid.

jmog;1649270 wrote:So in your auction you get $200? How could anyone let you get they WR corps and why didn't whoever had Calvin keep him for $5?
The way keepers work are this: each year, a player drafted in the previous season and continually rostered can be kept at a 20% inflation rate or $5, whichever is greater. If a player was claimed off FAAB, same rules apply, 20% inflation of FAAB used or $5, whichever is greater. Calvin was drafted for $57 last year I believe, so his keeper value would've been $69. I claimed Julio, Ryan, and Stacy all off free agency without using any FAAB, so I get to keep them for $5. Winning!

As for them letting me get that WR corps. They were all pretty mad that I was still bidding on guys lol.

    Now, onto lineup questions...

Who do I start week 1 at QB?

    M. Ryan (should be my regular starter) against New Orleans
    J. Cutler against Buffalo

At WR2 (AJ Green is my WR1)

Keenan Allen (probable weekly starter) against Arizona
Michael Floyd against San Diego (they play each other)

In both cases, according to CBSSports.com (our league website) the guy that I drafted lower and is my "backup" is predicted to score a couple more points due to matchups this week.

    Your thoughts?

QBs are 3 pts for TDs, -3 PTs for INTs
    WRs are 0.5 ppr.

All positions get bonus points for long TDs (for QBs/WRs anything over 20 yards they get 2 pts bonus for every 10 yards...)
For instance, for a QB, a TD that is <20 yards is 3 pts, a TD of 21 yards is 5 pts, a TD of 31 yards is 7 pts...and so on.
Same for WRs, but starting at the normal 6 pts.

I am leaning toward Ryan and Floyd, because Allen will probably be covered by Peterson at ARI...

Don't like it. No bell-cow RB and while I like Vereen in a half-ppr it's as an RB3 not RB2

Brown's a beast but I'm staying away from Desean this year and Maclin is as injury prone a WR as they come.

If I came out of my draft with that team I'd give it a C-. But you can't win a league on draft night so as long as you handle your shit during the season you'll be fine.

I think you will end up starting Cutler by mid-season, but I am not a fan of drafting a guy and then benching him early on. Id go with Ryan.

As for WR, I have Floyd way higher than others. I think he will be the #1 in Arizona numbers wise by end of the year. Id go with Floyd over Allen, and I dont see that changing throughout the year.

Ehh. You will win because some of your players will blow up on a given week, and inevitably they will do it on the same weeks. But, overall, not a fan. Not a very consistent group at any position outside of Manning. I love Vareen and Ellington, but as lhs said, as RB2 for Ellington and FLEX for Vareen. If it was a FULL PPR, I would bump them up and say you could survive. But at only half, their short catches just dont rack up the points.

If Jackson becomes the #1 and takes the Garcons catches, and Maclin can be relied on week to week, you can surprise. But, those are a lot of ifs to overcome.

Doesn't get much more consistent in PPR then Antonio brown. But overall I do agree with you and lhs. I did not come out of this draft happy but I was picking 12th I didn't have much options at 12 and 13. I think Ellington can be a work horse as they said they want him touching the ball 25+ times a game.

    Yeah lol it sucks

After the draft I started to think I should have kept shady, picked up Ellington and brown where I did, and get foles with my 4th.
