Our league is a partial keeper league. We can keep anyone we draft for one extra year as long as they were drafted in the 6th round or later. I have a feeling Gordon will go in the 6th for this reason. More for next year.Iliketurtles;1646817 wrote:My draft is today as well. Gordon for me if he is there in the 10-12 round range I'll take a filer on him. I have a feeling he is going to go in the 8th or 9th round though. -

The first year I did tiers I hated my team after the draft, by the end of the season I had finished 2nd in the league, the next 4 years I have finished no worst than 3rd and won it twice.
Well the problem is our league is a bunch of idiots and everyone takes rb's with their first 4 picks.. I had the 9th pick and 7 rbs and Calvin Johnson were taken before i picked.. i hate taking QB's so I grabbed Demaryius Thomas at 9 and instead of grabbing another top wr at 12, I had to grab Doug Martin so I could have some kind of RB b/c nothing would be available at 29 as far as rb's go with the way our league takes RB's.
My team ended up very WR heavy.
My roster is
Qb's: Tom Brady (10th), Tony Romo (13th)
WR's: Demaryius Thomas (1st), Michael Floyd (5th), Wes Welker (6th), Mike Wallace (8th), Mike Evans (11th), Rueben Randall (12th)
RB's: Doug Martin (2nd) Andre Ellington (3rd) Shave Vereen (7th) Danny Woodhead (9th)
TE: Gronk (4th)
Def: San Fransico (14th)
K: Dan Bailey (15th) -

That sucks. Vareen is a monster in PPR. He will get around 70 catches if healthy...could be as high as 90, depending on how the Pats season goes. I liked your team a lot more before you said no lol.ZWICK 4 PREZ;1646837 wrote:No
Even so, he should put up solid numbers as the man who will touch it the most for the Pats. Floyd, I think, will be Arizonas #1 by mid-season (at least #s wise). Welker AND Thomas will be a huge duo. Welker should return to 110+ catches (again, sucks its not PPR) without Decker. Id expect them both to have around 10 TDs with J. Thomas as well having around 10.
Ellington is a sneaky RB. You have a lot of teammates (3 Pats, 2 Broncos and 2 Cards) who will be starting for you, which is risky...but can also result in monster weeks. -
IliketurtlesJust finished my draft... Not a huge fan of my team. Waited on QBs and thought I was golden as Cutler and Romo were still there everyone had QBs and 2 people even already took backups then boom boom right before my pick they were taken. Still ended up with Brady but I just don't love it. Then I wanted Seattle Def but the went a round before I wanted and just waited too long and got not so great one (Bills or Browns just will depend on matchup). League is PPR but its not all about points (reasons why I don't love my QB and Def(s))
Here is my team I had the 6th pick:
QB - Tom Brady (7th)
RB - Matt Forte (1st)
WR - Vincent Jackson (4th)
RB/WR/TE - DeMarco Murray (2nd)
RB/WR/TE - Andre Ellington (3rd)
RE/WR/TE - Roddy White (5th)
DEF - Browns (12th)
K - Seatlles too drunk to spell his name (16th)
Joique Bell (6th)
Kendall Wright (8th)
Reggie Wayne (9th)
Stevan Ridley (10th)
Pierre Thomas (11th)
Carson Palmer (13th)
Buffalo Bills Def (14th)
Kenny Stills (15th)
Since jmog wrote a book to explain his league I will write a mini one since mine is difference as well. Scoring goes : Scoring is: PPR, All TDs 6 points, -3 INT, -2 Fumble, All FG's 3 points, XP 1 point, Defensive points are INT 2, Fumble Recovery 2, Sack 1, Safety 5. 3 points if your QB gets 300 yards passing and then 1 point for every 50 yards after. Rushing/Receiving you get 3 points at 100 yards and then 1 point for every 50 yards after.
In my league you have to win 3 out of 5 categories to win the week:
Passing- Passing yards from all starting players
Rushing- Rushing yards from all starting players
Receiving- Receiving yards from all starting players
Points- Obviously just points from starting players
Defense- Win 2 out of 3 - Points Allowed, Yards Allowed, and Turnovers forced.
Also 2nd defense is used in case of a tie. -
jmogJust had our draft, remember my league has 'odd' scoring. Longer TDs count for more, PPR for RB/WR, TEs get huge bumps (1pt/5 yard and 10 pts for TDs)...Our lineup is nearly all flex...also, partial keeper league (if we drafted the player after the 6th)...10 team league.
Starters (round)
QB-M. Ryan (9) (best available at that time was Ryan, Romo, and Cutler)
RB-A. Peterson (1) (6th overall pick, J. Graham, Megatron, J. Charles, L. McCoy, and P. Manning gone...in that order, was hoping to get McCoy or Charles, but fine with pick)
RB-D. Murray (3) (never expected him to drop to rd 3, had him as the 7th best RB and many below him went first like L. Bell, M. Ball, M. Lynch)
WR-AJ Green (2) (had a choice between him and Marshall, DThomas, Julio, and Megatron were only ones gone by here)
WR-K. Allen (keeper for an 11th)
TE-K. Rudolph (4) (targeted him in the 3rd, but passed due to more TEs left than I thought would be plus I had ADP on the same team...was him or M. Bennett at this point...literally everyone else in top 14 TEs were gone)
K-D. Bailey (15)
D-New England (10)
Bench (round)
QB-J. Culter (12) (decided I needed a decent backup in case Ryan sucks again this year)
QB-R. Tannehill (18) (literally only reason I got a 3rd QB instead of a 4th RB was because I noticed Culter and Ryan has same bye...was pissed...only mistake)
RB-A. Ellington (5) (can't believe in a PPR he last until here...I had him 11th RB in a PPR, and Bush, Vereen, Morris, L. Bell all taken before him...after him was Zac Stacy or R. Jennings)
WR-M. Floyd (6) (keeper...next Josh Gordon in my opinion...break out year)
WR-K. Wright (7) (possible break out year being a 3rd year WR)
WR-T. Austin (15) (flyer)
TE-C. Clay (8) (seriously TEs in our league...16 TEs taken in the first 8 rounds...)
TE-T. Kelce (14) (flyer, having a great preseason, if he breaks out...huge late keeper in our league for next season)
K-M. Bryant (17)
D-Tampa Bay (16)
So, to give an idea of our draft numbers...180 (18x10) players taken, the only requirements are at least 2 QB, 2 K, and 2 D...everything else is up to the owner...
Total numbers at each position
QB-22
RB-36 (actual starting RBs like Lamar Miller, Steven Jackson went undrafted...so my team only having 3 doesn't worry me, no team drafted more than 4...FA will be available)
WR-56
TE-26 (yes, 26 TEs...everyone had at least 2 with our rules, most had 3).
K-20
D-20
I hate to write a book, but since our league is SO different than a standard league, had to do some explaining...
how'd I do? -
IliketurtlesLol Jmog I didn't want to write a book to explain my league but maybe I will go back and edit my post to.
As for your team. I love it. Murray in the 3rd and Ellington in the 5th is just crazy. Both of those guys should have been drafted a round earlier especially in PPR. It seems like people went TE crazy and you got great values at WR and RB.
I also made the same mistake you did with my QBs don't sweat it when someone elses starting QB goes down you could probably trade rape them for Cutler/Ryan. -
Terry_TateTurtles, your league is like 5 categories right, and if you win 3 of the 5 you win the week right? It wasn't that complicated if I remember right, but it's definitely not normal, lol.
The NFL is pissing me off about Josh Gordon. I kept him in 2 of my 3 keeper leagues because he was dirt cheap, but dropped him in another. I figure if nothing is announced before the draft I should be able to get him for even cheaper because I think I'm the only one in that league that is willing to waste a bench spot for the following year, lol. Got Jeremy Maclin for $1 in 2 different leagues last year so really hoping that strategy pays off. -
Iliketurtles
Haha yeah I edited my draft post above to explain my league. It isn't complicated just completely different than other leagues. Looking back a day after my draft I'm kinda thinking I should have taken Brees over Forte in the 1st. But I held true to my stragety(also didn't think Brees would be there). I'm probably just 2nd guessing it cause I didn't get Cutler or Romo lol. Also for the first time in this league I loaded up on RBs so it will be interesting to see how that works out for me. I'm still pissed that Seattle's Def got taken in the 4th and then I just waited and fucked up and missed a good one. KC, Cincy, and Pats were all left I thought only 2 more people needed one so I passed to wait a round but they were all taken because 3 people still needed one.Terry_Tate;1647092 wrote:Turtles, your league is like 5 categories right, and if you win 3 of the 5 you win the week right? Also Gordon went in the 9th round in my leauge definitely a risk. I think if you have him in a keeper league unless you have to give up a high draft pick or can't continue to keep him long term I would keep him. -
Terry_TateHad the worst draft I've had in 4 or 5 years today, lol. PPR, Passing TDs worth 6, keeper league where you can keep whoever you want, but there's a salary cap.

WR - Michael Crabtree
WR - Jeremy Maclin
Flex - Cordarrelle Patterson
Flex - CJ Spiller
TE - Jordan Cameron
K - Phil Dawson

BN - Teddy Bridgewater

12 team, and believe me I know. Most of the top guys were kept so was pretty much no studs out there, and obviously I didn't get any of them. Figured what the hell so went for potential and keepers for the next few years. If I get lucky Foles will turn out to be a top 5 QB and I'll have 3 top 10-15 WRs in Crabtree, Maclin, and Patterson so they can carry my team, but that's being pretty optimistic, lol. Hopefully Josh Gordon can return to play ASAP.jmog;1647331 wrote:No offense, but unless that is about a 14 or 16 team league that team sucks. -

I wouldn't do it in either case, but in PPR it is much closer. Giovani is ranked higher in both cases, but in PPR they are only a spot or two apart as Andre is a receiving back (he's my 3rd RB).
If it was standard I'd just say no, if it was PPR I'd ask for a little more. -

As good as Gronk is, you know you are in trouble RB wise when you are flexing an injury prone TE...Scarlet_Buckeye;1647374 wrote:Had an Auction draft on Saturday... Here's my team...

You could have use the $$ for Gronk (around $18?) and one of your $1/$2 RBs to get a guy at least around a top 10-12 RB? Most RBs around 10-12 in auctions are going for $18-20.
I'll put it this way, if you were in my league (where TEs are huge) your team would be unstoppable with Graham and Gronk, Mega/Dez/Brees. Those 5 in our league would dominate and you could take a zero at RB. However, in standard leagues RBs are at least required. -

You have 4 first round picks. That is solid. I like Rueben Randle. Your RBs are hurting but you a couple injuries away from your RBs not being quite that bad.Scarlet_Buckeye;1647374 wrote:Had an Auction draft on Saturday... Here's my team...

With your top 5 guys you should be pretty decent. Those RBs are terrible though. But if one of your bench guys become the starter that could be huge for you. You got the top QB, The top 2 WRs, and Top 2 TEs in my mind. -

They are pretty much the same guy and have the same type of situtation. I prefer Bernard to Ellington but I don't think he will be that much better.ZWICK 4 PREZ;1647362 wrote:I was offered Giovanni Bernard for Andre Ellington. I like Bernard and don't know a whole lot about Ellington. -

I'd say only 1 of those 4 are a sure 1st round pick, the rest are going from late 1st to deep in the 2nd. QB and WR wise our league drafting is pretty standard (only TEs and RBs are vastly different). Brees was the 7th pick in rd 2 (17 overall, 10 teams). Dez was 4th in Rd 2 (14th overall).TBone14;1647405 wrote:You have 4 first round picks. That is solid. I like Rueben Randle. We had Megatron and DThomas go in the first and only Peyton go in the first QB wise (Rodgers went in the 2nd as well just before Brees).
Current ADP in a standard draft has Dez going 11th (end of rd 1 for a 12 team league, beginning of rd 2 for a 10 team) and Brees going 18th. What he really has is maybe 2 first rounders and 2 second rounders, but that can happen in an auction, but he paid the price in depth and RBs. He will have problems on bye weeks and if anyone gets hurt, but if he can survive and make it into the playoffs he could win it all with those 4 guys and Gronk. -

Laley23Just set-up my tiers:
5th pick in a Non-PPR, 14 team league.
Hoping for:
1. Lacy
2. Ball/Bernard
3. A. Johnson
4. E. Sanders
5. Vareen/Hilton
6. Romo/Another QB (pretty set on grabbing on here, if the rest of the draft plays out)
7. J. Cameron
Obviously, its always a game-time decision when players you dont expect to be available fall. But thats how I see my draft playing out tomorrow night. Id be pretty stoked if it happened. Ive never had all 7 starting positions after 7 RDs. Can really build some solid depth at WR/RB if that happens.
