It's bad from both sides....I agreeccrunner609 wrote: the way these voted officials are acting is ridiculous. All the contemptuos moans and yells are ridiculous. -
eersandbeersI love the moans and yells. Maybe they need ot start beating each other like they did before the Civil War.
Just another big government program. It's natural for government to gain and liberty to yield. Simply how the system works. Americans are too stupid to care.....I mean American Idol is on I have to go. -
stlouiedipalmaWill the sun rise tomorrow? The way some of you have carried on these past months, you would think that the end of the world is near.
-
WriterbuckeyeIt's sad to watch liberty and freedom go down the toilet.
I realize you don't care about such things, but many of us do. -

End of the world probably not. End of the Republic probably.stlouiedipalma wrote: Will the sun rise tomorrow? The way some of you have carried on these past months, you would think that the end of the world is near.
Actually 1913 was far worse, but this could be the nail in the coffin. -
gibby08I love being called un-american and liberty-hating because I am a liberal and like this bill
-
WriterbuckeyeSome physicians who post on an OSU board I frequent will be dropping out of Medicare & Medicaid at the next cycle.
They expect that a lot of doctors will be doing the same to protest this piece of crap and the crapload of problems it will be creating for them.
If you're approaching Medicare age like some of us, don't expect to have very good services when the time comes; there simply aren't going to be enough physicians in the program. Waits will be long and service will be poor. -

Regardless of your political stance, that means you either did not read hte bill or believe everything the government says.gibby08 wrote: I love being called un-american and liberty-hating because I am a liberal and like this bill
This is one of the worst bills ever enacted in this country. -

Sadly, you're partially right. Too many Americans swallow mainstream media talking points and are too busy watching American Idol to care about where their country is headed, so when a bad economy and a big personality arrive in 2008 they fall for it.eersandbeers wrote:

When they actually wake up in late 2009 it's too late. -

Ah, the government will save you. If only we give more freedoms to the government, they will make all our troubles go away.Writerbuckeye wrote: Some physicians who post on an OSU board I frequent will be dropping out of Medicare & Medicaid at the next cycle.

There were a lot of doctors who already wouldn't take medicare/medicaid, that will only get worse now. Until the government goes after the medical professionals and makes them all government employees, that is. -

I guessing both.eersandbeers wrote:

Now that would be fun to watch.eersandbeers wrote: I love the moans and yells. Maybe they need ot start beating each other like they did before the Civil War.
This is true. The founders fought the same battles when writing the Constitution. Many did their best to place as many barriers as they could to prevent the expansion of big government.eersandbeers wrote: Just another big government program. gibby08How many of you read the bill from the front to the back??
I know of one poster who did -
jhay78Gotta love the Dems (like Boccieri) who basically say, "It's better to pass a complete piece of crap than to do nothing."
That mentality is the biggest problem with any politician, not just Dems. -
gibby08THE RECONCILIATION BILL HAD PASSED THE BILL
-
ptown_trojans_1I'm not sold that the Senate final bill can get this passed.
-
gibby08AP REPORTING PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA WATCHED ENTIRE VOTE AND WILL SIGN THE BILL ASAP
-
IggyPride00
Even if it doesn't, the senate bill is the law of the land and Obamacare is a reality regardless of what happens in reconciliation.ptown_trojans_1 wrote: I'm not sold that the Senate final bill can get this passed. -
WriterbuckeyeYou don't have to know every aspect of this bill to know what a dog it is.
There have been plenty of sections written about and exposed.
The bottom line for many of us is pretty simple, though: we don't want the government basically taking over one-sixth of our economy; especially the one segment of the economy that has been growing like crazy despite the recession.
We know that the cost estimates for this are a bunch of shit and that it will end up pushing us closer to insolvency.
It has to happen -- because history says no program ever begun like this has been able to remain solvent on its own. None of them.
Add in all the extra IRS agents that need to be hired (more hired guns for the government) and the additional takeover of the student loan program, and that's more than enough for anyone REALLY concerned about our country's economic well-being and freedom to say it's a piece of shit.
This bill was never about health care "reform" -- it is only about expanding government even further into people's lives and expanding the base of people who have to rely on government for services.
All of those folks are now and future Democrats, who will be right there to keep propping up the same crap politicians who created this mess.
If you really believe this was done to help people, then you're a damn fool. It was a political excercise that will forever put Obama in the annals of Democrat lore for greatly increasing the party base. Hell, if he's successful at bringing in all the illegals under this same type of umbrella, the liberals will want to put him on Mt. Rushmore.
That act would completely make the US just another irrelevant Western society in decline, and end the days of the US as a superpower. -
eersandbeersThe Bush years signified another irrelevant Western society in decline. The Obama administration just put the nail in the coffin.
Oh well, we had a good run. Let's see what comes from the state revolts and hope for a restoration. -
Cleveland BuckThe end of the days of the U.S. as a superpower is already here. Now we are approaching the end of the days of the U.S. as a nation.

2kool4skoolYou guys are really jumping the gun with the doom and gloom stuff here. This thing is far from a reality, and the Republicans have an easy way to stop it.
States can, and almost certainly will, sue over the bill. There will likely be differing opinions at the lower levels, meaning the case will eventually reach the supreme court, which will take about a year.
A year from now is obviously after November. If the Supreme Court changes even one word of the bill, it will need to be re-voted on by the house and senate. By the time that happens, the Republicans may have taken control of congress or at the very least gained significant numbers. At that point, they could kill the bill entirely.
I will be absolutely shocked if this bill ever becomes the law of the land. -

I did. There are no death squads etc and many of the other lies by the Repubicans.gibby08 wrote: How many of you read the bill from the front to the back??

The people voted out the worthless Republicans and voted in a sweeping fashion the Democrats and President Obama who stated in his election speeches he would be getting healthcare reform passed.
Well he did it. -
gibby08Umm...
You do realize that President Obama will sign this by Thursday right?
