I try not to be too hard on them because they bring up good points regarding Hillary and her flaws.Automatik;1794910 wrote:You two....reasonable thinkers?

The reality is, Trump is already the biggest mistake in US political history. I hope it doesn't become exponentially bigger with a Trump presidency. -
Wolves of BabylonIf there ever was a time for the Libertarian party to do something, it is now.
If Johnson can get on the debates and start getting his name out there, I could see a lot of people. Both Dems and Republicans jumping ship.

I don't mean win the presidency, I just mean to actually get people to take a look at something else that most people probably would realize they agree with and build on it going forward.like_that;1794940 wrote:Pipe dream. Not happening.

Yeah, the two top parties both have their big-name candidates with all their glitz and glamour (even if one side's establishment isn't all that happy with their choice). They're not going to let in any "outsiders" to spoil the party. Johnson wouldn't be allowed to be taken any more seriously than he has been in the past. The media would ignore him to focus on the circus, while the parties and their adherents would just start their regular "a vote for 'x' is a wasted vote" bleeting that happens every four years around this time.like_that;1794944 wrote:I'm even taking about getting on the debate stage. Those people didn't vote Trump. Trump won fair and square. He didn't hijack the party; the party's constituents voting overwhelmingly for this candidate.HitsRus;1794953 wrote:

Rubio was once the rising star of the GOP. Now he came in 3rd against and lost to a religious whacko and Donald Trump. LOLfish82;1794958 wrote:Marco sounds pretty butthurt.

At the POTUS level, yeah...I guess things look pretty grim. That said, they're still running about 80% of the country...with zero signs of that changing anytime soon.sleeper;1794959 wrote:Rubio was once the rising star of the GOP. Right, I meant at the POTUS level. The GOP will still do well in representation in Congress because they still own the South and parts of the Midwest.fish82;1794961 wrote:At the POTUS level, yeah...I guess things look pretty grim. That said, they're still running about 80% of the country. -

All this anti-establishment BS that was put forth and promoted in the media is/was based on the GOP "establishment" compromising its conservative principles in dealing with Obama and the Democrats. Yet those "mad at the establishment" for caving to the liberal democrats, did exactly that in supporting a defacto liberal to be their nominee. While railing against Washington insiders, they supported and voted for the biggest insider of all.
Trump is a loss for party values even if he wins (which he won't). -

When you have Donald Trump at the top of the ticket, those "80%" are gonna have a bad time. : thumbup:fish82;1794961 wrote:At the POTUS level, yeah...I guess things look pretty grim. That said, they're still running about 80% of the country...with zero signs of that changing anytime soon. -

As Republican Bob Gates would say, you have a cartoonish view of the military. He will be voting for Hillary. Enjoy voting for Trump who is both more of a buffoon and more liberal.QuakerOats;1794820 wrote:So the 'non-moron' who led our foreign policy disasters globally, and sat idle while 4 American diplomats were killed by terrorists, and then lied about it, and then covered it up, is the better choice.

It is SOOOOO easy and yet no Republican candidate who makes these arguments has a chance in hell of getting elected nationwide and oh yeah they were smoked by a guy who said he would use the power of executive authority to strong arm Ford and Carrier into staying in the U.S. - Sounds like small government lol.QuakerOats;1794750 wrote:Lower tax rates generate higher tax revenues (why, oh why, do we have to continue to explain that fact); couple that with spending cuts which should be easy (because the extra $800 billion spent during the crisis of '08-'09 NEVER WENT AWAY). We rocketed from spending $2.7 trillion to $3.5 trillion in one year, and have yet to back off. How the hell did that happen? Eliminate that extra by 33% a year over 3 years. Do that to stop the bleeding, then tackle major reforms to medicare and social security. Get the federal government out of the health care industry - period. Lastly, eliminate major departments and agencies, particularly those that interfere with the states or are duplicative in nature --- education, epa, and on and on and on ........... heck, over 150 agencies/commissions/offices go away with the end of obamaKare alone.
Hillary is the Goldwater Girl and college Republican is the last establishment republican left in the race. Enjoy voting for Trump though. -

I wouldn't consider Trump more liberal, especially considering how far left Bernie took Hillary, but I will agree that he is definitely a democrat. Just shows how dumb our country is where you can find a large base of voters with a few conservative hot takes.BoatShoes;1795006 wrote:As Republican Bob Gates would say, you have a cartoonish view of the military. I look at both Clinton and Trump as being the more poli-savvy centrist sort of candidate. Bernie was firing up the far left, so Clinton went farther left to counter that. Trump went from "lol, he's running, this oughta be good..." to the nominee because he took his natural outspokenness and brought in those conservative hot takes to suddenly brand himself as a straight-shooting, anti-PC man's man sort of candidate who won solely on charisma and his ability to strike a nerve with almost anyone in some way.like_that;1795012 wrote:I wouldn't consider Trump more liberal, especially considering how far left Bernie took Hillary, but I will agree that he is definitely a democrat. In a way, it's almost hilarious in how it's showing just how stupid people are. Even seemingly smart people. Like, for just one example, look at the Gawker SJWs. They jump on every single thing Trump says or does like he's the outright anti-christ virtually every single day. Just yesterday, it was him sitting in Trump Tower with what looked like a Taco Bell bowl saying that he loves Hispanics (since it was Cinco De Mayo). How fucking stupid do you have to be to believe this was him genuinely being that "awkward semi-racist uncle" character? Pure calculated move to troll people like that, so they'd get on their soapboxes and give him another wave of left-generated controversy to ride, while his supporters applaud how he isn't afraid to "make waves" or whatever.
I'm not the smartest guy in the room, but it's so, so easy to see through all this. Politics just makes people too passionate. Affects their brain waves or something. -

Totally agree that Trump is a mster troll of the SJW's. He could manage to pwn Hillary by tricking her into falling into that trap of trying to appeal to the SJW's. He already got her once when Hillary started sending "Woman Cards" to her supporters lol.Heretic;1795035 wrote:I look at both Clinton and Trump as being the more poli-savvy centrist sort of candidate. I seriously cannot wait for the debates. Trump is going to go absolutely off the wall and "win" every debate because Hillary doesn't have a clue on how to manage his character. The Republicans never figured it out either and that's why they got slapped around in the debates and then subsequently in the polls.BoatShoes;1795038 wrote:Totally agree that Trump is a mster troll of the SJW's. Fab4RunnerDefinitely trolling. I had a convo with my friend about it this morning. She is much more sensitive and easily offended than I am in general, but she is also Hispanic, so I get why this one might upset her. My take is basically that America is a bunch of vaginas who need to quit letting everything bother them...but I also dislike Trump, so fuck him. He's trolling, so to me the appropriate response is to laugh at his stupidity and enjoy the counter jokes and memes that came about.
