Obamacare is just one piece of the socialist puzzle.

The most integral piece, per Vladimir Lenin

What percentage of people do you think use medical services that they did not adequately save for between 16-30?

And, no...Obamacare is not the first thing to introduce community rating. Most states had some kind of community rating prior to. Haven't you heard prior to Obamacare stories about group insurance plans getting more expensive when the guy at the plant gets cancer, etc? Health insurance regulators have long used community rating regimes...it's just standardized nationally now to stop regulatory shopping.
    1. You are the one that made the claim that hardly any young people would use their car insurance, so the burden of proof is on you.

    2. You and I both know that a company pay a little more due to their overall risk is a LOT different than making ALL young people pay a LOT more than what they currently would be just to lump them in with the old folks.

    3. Your example is about as close as having higher car insurance rates if you live in a "city" vs suburb regardless of age.

So is this forum now just Quaker pasting the entirety of Drudge everyday?

I'm assuming that contract became null & void when the votes of illegal immigrants, multi-voting, and the votes of dead Democrats factored into the massive 50.9% majority that propelled the Anointed One to his rightful place in the new Mericun Mediocrity. : thumbup:

Typical left wing response....Allan West has continually...and for several years ...alluded to government dependency as a form of slavery, and to liberalism and their pols as the new slavemasters. Usually the democrats and the left sputter 'preposterous' and try to marginalize that idea. Despite that, the idea continues to gain traction as people's eyes are opened to the insidious loss of freedom that government control brings.

    Nope, it's still retarded.

I understand how dangerous this idea is for the liberal elite who depend on the support of people who believe that actual good is being done. Once that illusion is destroyed, people run away from the need to have government control cradle to grave. Hence the need for descriptions like "dumbest" and "retarded" and back hand dismissals.

But feel free to explain yourself.

It's strange...when you read up on why Walter Heller advised LBJ to go with income support instead of guaranteed employment advocated by the likes of John Kenneth Galbraith...there's all kinds of talk about "commercial keynesianism" and economic growth being strong enough to have the private sector absorb the unemployed but nothing about how great it would be to create a permanent underclass of unemployed minorities chained to the democrat plantation that will ensure democratic electoral dominance for decades to come.

Indeed, if that was the strategy...it was literally the dumbest electoral strategy in a hundred years. The anti-poverty programs that the democrats created solidified the current conservative coalition and turned Hubert Humphrey voting whites into Nixon and Reagan voting whites who didn't want to see their hard earned money go to lazy welfare queens.

No that's more like Medicare and medicaid and the V.A. system but when those are expanded when a republican is in the presidency you hear crickets. Certainly no filibusters or storming of the gates with confederate flags.

Apparently people make a car insurance claim once every 19 years on average. Plenty more people make health insurance claims than that.

All insurance redistributes wealth from the risk pool to the unlucky. Obamcare just changes it to where the redistribution occurs ex ante instead of ex post...as was already done in a lot of states.

It is responsible to work out, eat better, look both ways before crossing the street, raise my children to be good people and productive members of society. I just don't jump to the conclusion the only answer is for the Federal Government to decide how to fix it.

I also enjoy this myth that somehow prior to Obamacare we were involved in some sort of Healthcare Capitialist utopia and that is why we need the government to step in. Government has been in involved in Healthcare for at least 50 years and in all honesty is the biggest culprit as to why healthcare cost have gone through the roof. They did the same exact thing to the Education system and what a coincidence those two things are the biggest causes of strain and debt for people today.

People didn't just "jump to the conclusion". They've tried different things over the years and all over the world. The freest economy in the world in Hong Kong goes way farther than this.

It did; 17% of BIG government is somewhat on hold, and you would have thought the republicans were back to killing women and children in the streets.
