I'd still go with he regrets it. He could have at least owned up to it.gut;1315413 wrote:So what you're saying is you're NOT willing to bet every dollar you have on it? Or maybe you only have a few dollars. I don't know. -
queencitybuckeyeNot to pick nits, but it's "she".

He has every to exercise his freedom of speech. Just like I have every right to disagree with it and call him a dumbass.
Protesting is fine, what he did IMO is anti-American.
You are borderline close to getting quite a lecture from O-Trap ......look out.
BTW - where is that McD; I'm hungry and I would like to give the guy my business. -

It is the 21st century, world wide people are moving to cities. It is human nature. Accept it.

You are pretty much right though -

I'll just continue ignore this forum like I do 99% of the time since I've been a member. -

Nah. I am getting quite a chuckle at him calling it anti-American. It's good for the lulz, which I need today.QuakerOats;1315491 wrote:You are borderline close to getting quite a lecture from O-Trap ......look out.

So you're not pro-Obama, you are just enraged that someone would question the dear leader that was chosen for them? People like Gibby are less frightening than you are when it comes to state of the country today.Automatik;1315388 wrote:You're taking my comments as coming from someone who is "pro-Obama." You're wrong.
You think it's OK for the owner to "protest" in that way, which is fine. I'd venture to say the majority will disagree with you. -
SportsAndLadyHe may be un-american, but is he.....un-USA-American?

So I should be "frightening" regarding this situation? Um...what?Cleveland Buck;1315509 wrote:So you're not pro-Obama, you are just enraged that someone would question the dear leader that was chosen for them? Question him all you want, go nuts. I don't give a shit.
But displaying the flag in that way, for that reason, IMO is disrespectful to our country as a whole. -

Flag upside down = distress signal.Automatik;1315520 wrote:But displaying the flag in that way, for that reason, IMO is disrespectful to our country as a whole.
His "reason" is to display distress, obviously because of the leadership choice.
I just don't see the anti-American sentiment there. I'm being genuine in that. Would you mind explaining why it is, so that I can better get your view? -
AutomatikI will admit, "anti-American" was not the right term. Again, disrespectful and in poor taste suits is better. It just irks me to see our country's symbol displayed in that way to convey the message.

Sharia law is coming....book it. I saw it in the movie...2016. 435 Muslims in the House. 100 Muslim Senators....and wait and see how many Muslims on the Supreme Court.ptown_trojans_1;1314968 wrote:And he will enslave us all like the dictator his really is.

Funny thing. My wife and I purchased a coffee shop last year and she runs it. My wife is conservative. She does not keep up on things as much as I do so I have take a little time to help her get informed when its time to vote. Yesterday my wife comes to me and was amazed what some people are believing. She told me this lady comes into the coffee shop and started talking about the election. She went into this spiel about Obama, muslims, and what they were going to do with women. She told my wife she did not want to get her head sawed off. My wife was like WTF?Footwedge;1315528 wrote:Sharia law is coming....book it. Where does someone even come up with that? I'm sure your wife is informed, but we would probably be shocked at how many people don't read a newspaper, watch the news, or even look at a blog (not even talking about the bias or bs stuff).majorspark;1315540 wrote:She went into this spiel about Obama, muslims, and what they were going to do with women. And the scary part is the turnout in that group is probably your margin of victory. And I'm not sure a large chunk of those don't make up the vaunted swing voter group. Sure, their vote could go either way but you gotta get to Bubba (or Jose) to get to them. -

My own sister...with 2 Masters degrees believes all of this. So did my deceased brother. To give you an idea on my brother's intelligence, he scored a perfect 800 in math on his SAT.majorspark;1315540 wrote:Funny thing. My wife and I purchased a coffee shop last year and she runs it. So how can 2 incredibly intelligent individuals have such a demented and warped view of the world? Common denominators man....common denominators. Listening to Limbaugh, Hannity, Savage and even Glenn Beck for 4-6 hours every day will fry out your brain and leave you as a political vegetable.
When the high end intelligentsia is so mentally polluted as to believe these things, you know the country is fukked. -

I listened to Rush back in the late 80's working for my Dad. Then years after. Today I tune in occasionally usually during some sort of political event to hear what is being said. As you can see I have not been left a political vegetable and am doing quite well.Footwedge;1315658 wrote:So how can 2 incredibly intelligent individuals have such a demented and warped view of the world? As for this lady that said this to my my wife she could very well be a listener or not. I dunno. I am pretty sure Limbaugh never said Obama wants to institute sharia law and saw the heads off of insubordinate women. So who knows whats got this women so spooked. -
ptown_trojans_1I just remembered this site in 2008, and they did a good job at breaking things down with pictures, which we all like. Yeah, it is UM, ugh, but one thing they do do well.

Interesting stuff. Most of the map is pretty purple, and maybe a relatively uniform shade of it. But it does stand out that (population cartograph) that's there is a somewhat larger portion of mostly blue in comparison to mostly red. I'm sure that's some big population centers which tend to be mostly shared values. It does illustrate how hitting that city big kind of makes the rest in that state meaningless.ptown_trojans_1;1316118 wrote:I just remembered this site in 2008, and they did a good job at breaking things down with pictures, which we all like. I'm not arguing against the electoral college - I think it's pretty good. I'm just not sure how much of a distinction should be made, or if there is one, between say San Diego and LA. On a state level, sure and that's why they have local govt and state reps, etc...But to the extent state issues influence votes on the Presidential election, I'm not sure San Diego is different from LA.
Does seem a little problematic. If population centers, which skew Dem, continue to grow proportionately and faster, then the electoral map will skew Dem more without the demographics necessarily tracking it.
Anyway, I just don't know how they decide that a vote in CA is worth, say, 80% of someone's vote in OH (with regard to electoral votes). -

ptown_trojans_1You mean like this:
But, this was 2004, when W won. I think you are overstating it. -
WebFireI see a map like that and would think a dominating win for W. But it wasn't. Just seems skewed. Maybe it's not. W and BO both won popular votes in those years. Though not by much. Just seems like the electoral isn't doing it's job well when you see maps like that.
