Why do you hate corporations?

Why are you even debating this guy? Read his post:
"Improved medical procedures caused more people to survive"
Either that's a bad outcome or else we have incorporated entities to thank for that. There is no way in the world any improvements could be made to our medical industry without incorporated entities. No person would accept the liability.
"We do consider ourselves responsible for not exploiting the intolerable situation of others, unless course the exploiters are soulless corporations."
As opposed to soulless individuals? People exploit other people all of the time without needing incorporation - see Jerry Sandusky.
It is obvious isadore has no idea what he's talking about. We might as well be discussing this in Mandarin. -
ManO'WarThey could have stayed where they came from, but obviously thought those conditions were much worse. Compared to the work, or lack thereof, that they were doing in the "Old Country", the factory work was a few steps up.

I'd really like to meet some of these people on these msg boards that think this way in real life. Or maybe I don't.Manhattan Buckeye;1225472 wrote:^^^

I don't try and debate him but rather continue to express my opinion on things I disagree with. If often times leads him right to his contradictory points like you so very well pointed out. -

Gosh a ruddies, you know those medical advances were not advanced by corporations but by individuals motivated by the hope to improve the human condition, people like Jenner, Lister and Pasteur. Their knwoledge was then passed on by institutions of learning. Jerry Sandusky was able to do is evil because of the effort to protect the big money of psu footballs.Manhattan Buckeye;1225472 wrote:^^^

Corporations have the finances and the legal protection to exploit at a mass level. -

gosh it is nice to see someone defend exploiting the poor, working children 6 days a week, 14 hours a day with no safety protections, for minimal wages.ManO'War;1225473 wrote:They could have stayed where they came from, but obviously thought those conditions were much worse. ManO'WarWell, vote with your wallet then....don't buy or use anything from a corporation. So that means bye bye internet and computer.

Is that a mixed metaphor? -
ManO'WarGoes to show you that "Government" is terrible at bringing ideas to the marketplace.
Also, that is like the chicken and egg...where did these guys get the materials to build their computer?? Or put another way, where does the government get all of their funds...from the private citizens. -
isadoreand who keeps corporations from working men, women and children to death.
-
ManO'WarNobody.
If you don't want to work for a corporation, then don't. Start your own business. In fact you will work a lot harder if you have your own business than if you work for a corporation. -

This. When your ability to feed yourself is directly tied to your ability to perform, you'll be amazed at what you can accomplish. -

your altruism is overflowing. When millions of lives were being destroyed by corporations. when children were being worked to death by them. what is your answer, 'let them eat cake.' Government action saved and bettered lives.ManO'War;1225798 wrote:Nobody.

Con_AlmaPeople chose to come to the U.S. People chose to reproduce with many children. They Chose to work for corporations. These decisions led to their ultimate position in life. Their actions determined their fate. Placing blame in anyone other those who decided, is akin to not taking responsibility for your own actions.

Institutions of learning ARE corporations in many instances, and who do you think paid for all of the research, could it be:
"Corporations have the finances"
to fund the research of individuals, who often are employed by corporations. Aside from the smallest of small revenue producing endeavors, all private sector work (and even public sector work in some instances) is produced by incorporated entities. The term "entity" is not a bad word. Not to take this to the political forum, but it is amazing how some politicians have exploited the citizenry's ignorance on how the world works. The local bookstore is incorporated just as Barnes & Noble is incorporated, one is simply larger than the other. -
Con_AlmaYeah, kind of like that.

Blah, blah, blah. Gosh a ruddies why do corporations exist. Because of the government. They are created with the permission of government, charted by government. They do not exist without governmentManhattan Buckeye;1225906 wrote:You mean like this?:

As opposed to sole proprietorships they are artificial, permitted to exist by government. Government makes them an artificial entity with certain special grants from government like limited liability. And with anything created by our government, the peoples representatives ultimately have the right to alter or destroy them when they become destructive to the will of the people. -

Spoken like someone who has never been able to accomplish anything on their own in life, so feels the need to blame others.isadore;1225954 wrote:when people have no real choice, they have right to place blame. -

They may exist with the permission of the government but that's not why they exists. They exists to increase shareholder equity. They don't exists to employ people. That is an expense...often times a necessary expense.isadore;1225962 wrote:Blah, blah, blah. Gosh a ruddies why do corporations exist. Because of the government.
